Sure does!! Can you can see our children doing that?? You'd have to smash their computer, sell all their games, throw away their cell phones and not let them have any fast food until they got the job done.....

They would leave home before any of that happened......Sad, if you ask me..Our kids don't even have social sk**ls anymore and prefer to be alone rather than outside playing with other children..........

My sister allows her son 2 hrs. gaming and thats after homework, chores etc done..If he hasn't done them, then he knows not to even get his gaming...His grades started slipping one semster last year, she took his Xbox out of his room, forget just not allowed to use..It stayed out until his grades were back where he normally keeps them..A's and B's....He knows if they fall he looses his game...If that wasn't enough she also told him he was going to loose his cell phone....lolololol

That's like Phil Robertson used to do on Duck Dynasty he would ask the grand kids for their cell phones and then he would throw them into the woods or swamp which ever. Then they would go to work and do some chores. I see where that show was canceled and that the wives are telling their husbands they either shave or its all over for them. There way or the highway.

You know, it wasn't unusual years ago for a youngster to run heavy equipment. When I was 8yrs old, I would look forward to visiting my uncle
on his farm. He would let me plow the fields for the season of crops.
Now you would be lucky to get a kid to mow the yard on a riding lawn mower!

LJ, my Grandkids suffer the same fates, no questions asked. Plus my 11 yr.old Granddaughter has her own crossbow, .243 rifle and 10 22 squirrel rifle. She has been going hunting with her father and me since she was 6. We are starting on MaMa's boy 7 this year. He likes shooting and will shoot some that I won't but is lazy and wants to play electronics all the time. It's good in a way in that we can use it against him. Had my daughter working at 11 busing tables at local eatery. You want to see someone irate. She had her first pay check figured out to the penny. Oooh, forgot to tell her about taxes. She has h**ed the govt. ever since, LOL. Mike

Good one about the taxes. You are doing a great job. Kick those grandkids off of those electronic mind numbing games and get them to work, hunt and fish etc. teach them to be adults, they won't learn by playing video games that's for sure.

Your sister sounds very wise..It is very tough trying to raise children in this age of electronic toys and cellphones. In addition to cancer risks, it seems users are more susceptible to conditions like ADHD and other psycho disorders.

If they would get rid of the electronic toys they would get rid of a lot of the medical problems as well. I know Johnny has one or Sue has one well guess what you aren't Johnny or Sue so get over it and go play. If the boy wants to become a professional sports player he better get his but outdoors and the same for the girl it is a good way to maintain the female figure and that is by being active.
