So sorry for the loss of your horses. The people that would do such a thing to a defenseless animal are the lowest of human-garbage. They are also have no business having guns as they have proved they are not mature enough to own one. I hope they are caught and hope they are punished to the FULL EXTENT of the law!

I truly feel your pain. Not to make it purposely "political" in any way, people here locally tend to take ANY angst, political or otherwise, out on animals. It is their way. They are dark souls. That is quite frankly a goodly part of why I came to OPP to express myself in the first place. I fear for the repercussions of having a voice. My neighbor had two of her horses and her favorite dog shot. Upon chatting with local h****rs, I came to know that all three lives were taken purposefully, not by accident. Everyone knows how passionate I am about my animals and quite frankly I am thankful with each day, as I look out the window before I head out the door, to generally see that all are present and accounted for. For a time, a very unethical person would trespass at night, and for that same length of time, I would march myself out into the darkness, cell phone in hand, "sometimes" a weapon in hand, declaring into the darkness that 911 would be my next step -- didn't matter if it was 9 p.m. or 2 a.m. There are signs of late that he is back, gates left open, hay barn doors open, things we are almost OCD about. We shall see. Just know it is rare that kharma does not kick these individuals in the fanny, sometimes it takes longer to come about, but their time will come. Cyber hugs for your pain.

Thank you, You are really ballsie to go out in the dark, decades ago I had someone stealing gas from my storage tank and was a lot of shivers to walk out and watch him flee.. Do not think this was political at all.. Not very many even have a clue where I stand on any issue other than gun control... I have a sign by the mail box.. "own gun and backhoe" to paraphrase. Talked to the sheriff office yesterday late.. They had an incidence of a wounded horse in SW Minnesota, but that is over 300 miles from here and I see no connection.. Think was only fools with no rational thoughts of their own... Was an event on the lake, snowmobile time runs, even cars races on ice.. So a lot of outsiders coming up.. I think that was the source of the dummies... Thanks to everyone for the concerns.. by wife says at least we will have extra mulching hay for the garden and I won`t have to go out and feed them in the storms still to come.. But I liked that... Well now it is a done deal and I will move on. This venting on forum made me feel better and thanks again...

"Own gun and backhoe" -- I think I like it!! If my mailbox hadn't been taken out three times already, I would be tempted to put up a similar sign, yep. Maybe, further down next to the woods, "maybe". Of course, my husband has already made at least one guy think I have a place where I bury the bodies of those that tick me off. :-D :lol: The local sheriff has even cautioned me that the "three S's" do NOT apply to humans. :roll: As you said in so many words, enough already.

Ahhh, the 3 "S's", something I wasn't acquainted with until I became a rural resident -- shoot 'em, shovel 'em, and shut up about it!! I once asked a deputy sheriff if extenuating circumstances came up, if it would not be considered a "community service." :roll: He was quick with his nervous reply, he was. Think that was what prompted him to ask if he might have my cell phone number. :lol: :lol:

Sorry to here about the loss of your horses. I live in rural IL and have hunted many a farmers field for pheasants and rabbits. One thing that hurt the area is the people from Chicago and other large cities from the area came out and shot livestock as well as anything that moved or was stationary like tractors , barns, silos etc. Got to be that the farmers would tell us not to hunt their fields because these i***ts would even jump the fence when the farmer was in the field and not respect his wishes for no hunting. The farmers told me that they don't even go in the fields during hunting time unless they absolutely have to. It appears that some of them have been shot at as well.
