Before you write an article I suggest you research history to understand why certain events stand out . Speaking of my lifetime have never witnessed Christians chopping off heads throwing gays from cliffs stoning woman who has been raped. Christians are not perfect. But like any faith, the leaders tend to become false profits for pure gain. Sheep will follow.

Then Fake news uncovered that another Russian attended meeting and Trump Jr admitted to another Russian. But again he said it was only 20 minutes and they talked about abortions

Then Trump Jr went to that friendly news Fox and Hannity interviewed him and Hannity asked him was there anybody else and Trump said no that was it and they just talked about adoption.

Then these emails got exposed by the Washington Post and they called Jr. And told him they had copies and were going to release them. So Trump Jr released them himself.

Then the Fake news uncovered that there was 2 other Russians at the meeting so now 8 people 5 Russians Manafort Kushner and Jr. All for 20 minutes and all they did was discuss adoption of Russian children.

So lies lies lies lies more lies so here is the email string. So all these Russians came to Trump tower to meet with Manafort, Kushner, Jr and all they discussed was adoption.

What we have now is people leaving the voter rolls because they do not want to hand over there personnel information to that GD freak in the White House.

This has nothing to do with voter fraud it's voter intimidation which is working, voter purge which is working, and making it hard to vote which is working.

Only 45% of Trump voters believe Don Jr. met with the Russians, after Junior admitted it
Public Policy Polling has a new poll out that’s depressing as hell, and a sign of just how fact-deprived Trump voters truly are.
Among other findings, only 45% of Trump voters think Donald Trump Jr. met with Russians last year to discuss their offer to help his father win the election.
And 32% say it didn’t happen at all.
This is after Donald Trump Jr. already admitted publicly that he met with the Russians, and Donald Trump Sr. tweeted the fact that his son met with the Russians. After all that, only 45% believe it.
And people wonder how democracies die.
Another troubling finding: Even though Donald Trump Jr. admitted this too, only 26% of Trump voters think the Russians wanted Trump to win. And 44% think Putin wanted Hillary to win. (Putin HATED Hillary, and that’s a leading reason he got involved in the election to begin with.) Again, Donald Trump Jr. already tweeted out the emails he received from an intermediary for the Russians, acknowledging that they wanted Trump to win and wanted to help. Yet that admission by a Trump himself isn’t enough for Trump voters.
Also bizarre, only 13% of Trump voters think Trump’s team worked with Russians to help his campaign. Again, junior already admitted meeting with the Russians for this very purpose.
PPP calls all of this a certain amount of willful ignorance. I fear it’s worse than that. PPP even polled how Trump voters would feel if he shot someone. Trump famously bragged during the campaign that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and his supporters wouldn’t care. He was right. Only 29% disapprove, while 45% approve — without even knowing who he shot or why.
I watch Trump’s incremental train wreck and it explains a lot about how bad men rose to power in the past. It’s not just that they slowly, stealthily consolidate power when no one is looking. It can also be the fault of a public who knowingly accept, and shrug off, what was previously unthinkable. (Fox News isn’t helping things, either.)

Trump at a campaign rally mocking a NYT reporter with a disability.
Someone said to me the other day, “the problem isn’t Trump, the problem is America.” They meant that the Trump phenomenon goes much deeper than a shallow narcissist who never outgrew puberty and simply got lucky at the ballot box. Trump is in power because voters knew what he was, and voted for him anyway. Trump spewed sexism, racism, mocked people with disabilities and openly praised, and even embraced and defended, some of the world’s worst dictators, while repeatedly criticizing America. And people voted for him anyway.
Yes, Trump lost the popular vote; so in the end, the American people didn’t choose him to be their president. But he still got far too many votes after everything we learned about him during the campaign. Trump received 63 million votes to Hillary Clinton’s 65.8 million. Hillary kicked Trump’s ass. But someone as vile and unqualified as Trump should have lost by double-digit margins. And he didn’t.
Maybe Trump isn’t the only thing that’s broken. Maybe America is too. The question is whether we still have time to fix her.

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10684/palestinian-cyber-crime-law

Critics say the Palestinian Authority's (PA) Cyber Crime Law, which permits the imprisonment of Palestinians for "liking" or sharing published material on the internet, paves the way for the emergence of a "police state" in PA-controlled territories in the West Bank. They also argue that the law aims to silence criticism of Abbas and the PA leadership.

"What is laughable is that this law carries penalties that are tougher than those imposed on thieves and sex offenders... the law, in its present form, is designed to limit the freedom of the media and punish people for simple matters." — Journalist in Ramallah.

This latest dictatorial move in the PA-controlled territories might also serve to remind the international community about the current readiness of the Palestinian leadership for statehood, and what such statehood would look like. In its current incarnation, that state would fit in just fine with its brutal Arab neighbors.

A new Palestinian law combating information technology (IT) crimes has sparked a wave of protests from Palestinian journalists and human rights organizations.

The controversial Cyber Crime Law, signed by Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on July 11, permits the imprisonment of Palestinians for "liking" or sharing published material on the internet.

Critics say the law paves the way for the emergence of a "police state" in PA-controlled territories in the West Bank. They also argue that the law aims to silence criticism of Abbas and the PA leadership.

The new law comes on the heels of the PA's recent decision to block more than 20 Palestinian websites accused of publishing comments and articles critical of the PA leadership.

The law was approved by Abbas himself, without review by the Palestinian parliament, known as the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC). The PLC has been paralyzed for the past decade, as a result of the power struggle between Abbas's PA and Hamas -- the Islamist movement that controls the Gaza Strip.

In the absence of parliamentary life, Abbas and his senior officials and advisors have felt free to pass their own laws to serve their interests and promote their personal and political agendas.

In the view of Palestinian journalists and human rights advocates, the new Cyber Crime Law will further restrict freedom of expression, especially on social media, which will now be closely monitored by the PA security forces. They say that the law makes a mockery of the PA leadership's motto that the "sky is the limit when it comes to freedom of expression."

The absence of a free and independent media in the PA-controlled territories has prompted many Palestinian journalists, bloggers and political activists to resort to Facebook and Twitter. There, they express their opinions, air their grievances, and discuss taboo issues -- such as financial and administrative corruption among the top brass of the Palestinian Authority leadership.

The new law legalizes what has long been happening in the PA-controlled territories, however. PA security forces have long targeted Palestinians who post critical and controversial comments on social media.

Hardly a week passes without two or three Palestinians arrested or summoned for interrogation by the PA security forces regarding a Facebook or Twitter posting or comment. Many Palestinians have been taken into custody for "liking" or sharing a post, article or photo that was deemed offensive to Abbas or a senior PA official.

Yet, the Cyber Crime Law is indeed a watershed in repression: prior to it, no law existed that prohibited Palestinians from expressing their views on social media platforms.

Now, anyone who commits the offense of establishing a website with the intent of disseminating news that could "undermine the safety of the state or its internal or external security" is liable to a prison sentence and fine. The law also aims to punish anyone who promotes such news by "liking" or sharing it.

Palestinian journalists identify themselves as the real targets of the Cyber Crime Law. One journalist in Ramallah remarked:

"What is laughable is that this law carries penalties that are tougher than those imposed on thieves and sex offenders. This is a law with a purely political goal, although it has some positive aspects such as preventing extortion, fraud and impersonation on social media. But the law, in its present form, is designed to limit the freedom of the media and punish people for simple matters."

Jihad Barakat, a Palestinian journalist who was recently arrested by the Palestinian Authority security forces for filming the motorcade of PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah while it was passing through an Israeli military checkpoint, expressed outrage over the new law. He too said that the law was aimed at curbing freedom of expression and intimidating critics of the PA.

"This is a dangerous law," Barakat complained. "The law should conform with public freedoms and not be used to curb them." Barakat later was charged with "begging and loitering in a public place in suspicious circumstances." He was arrested because his filming of the PA prime minister at the checkpoint was considered embarrassing and offensive.

Palestinian journalists and human rights activists point out that the law contains ambiguous references, such as the "undermining or endangering of the safety of the state."

Journalist Shatha Hammad said that she and her colleagues were not sure what this phrase actually means.

"As journalists, we are confused," she said. "We don't know what type of news or postings which are considered -- according to this law -- a threat to the security of the state." She also pointed out that the new law comes amid a continued crackdown by the PA on Palestinian journalists and activists over their Facebook postings.

Alarmed by the new law, several Palestinian journalists and writers said it paves the way for the emergence of a repressive regime whose goal is to suppress public freedoms and violate the privacy of people.

"This law is aimed at providing the Palestinian Authority with a legal cover to suppress the voices of its opponents," explained Palestinian writer Ahmed Al-Najjar.

"In this way, the PA can arrest any journalist or ordinary citizen for publishing an article or posting something on social media that is deemed harmful to the security of the state. This is a bleak scenario that makes it clear that we are facing a repressive police system. This dangerous law drives the final nail in the coffin of public freedoms."

The Ramallah-based Palestinian human rights organization Al-Haq joined the chorus of critics of the new law restricting freedom of expression. "The law was issued by President Abbas without being presented to the public," the organization said. "It was issued in a very secretive manner."

Al-Haq also noted that the PA leadership turned down requests and appeals by Palestinian groups and individuals to receive copies of the new law before it was passed. The organization went on to denounce the law as a "Sword of Damocles" over the head of Palestinian journalists.

The Cyber Crime Law showcases the fact that the Palestinian Authority regime is being run as a one-man show.

This latest dictatorial move in the PA-controlled territories might also serve to remind the international community about the current readiness of the Palestinian leadership for statehood, and what such statehood would look like. In its current incarnation, that state would fit in just fine with its brutal Arab neighbors.

If you thought your rights are protected in the USA, think again. There are lawmakers who are working hard to under-handedly take them away. This is a worrying trend that may result in fatal blows to our rights and freedom to peacefully protest, assemble, and express our opinions and voices.

It is so concerning, that even the United Nations has weighed in on the trend. In an unprecedented move, representatives from the UN have sent a letter to the US government offering a strong condemnation for proposed legislation in sixteen states that is meant to limit peaceful protest.

The letter, penned by David Kaye, Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, and Maina Kiai, Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, claims that if passed, these bills would be incompatible with US obligations under international human rights law.
The UK-published Independent reported on the the letter, and covered the specifics of the proposed legislation in each state. In the the states of Tennessee and Florida, the bills would exempt drivers from liability if they accidentally hit and even killed a pedestrian participating in a protest.

HAMBURG, Germany — For years the United States was the dominant force and set the agenda at the annual gathering of the leaders of the world’s largest economies.
But on Friday, when President Trump met with 19 other leaders at the Group of 20 conference, he found the United States isolated on everything from trade to climate change, and faced with the prospect of the group’s issuing a statement on Saturday that lays bare how the United States stands alone.
Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, the host of the meeting, opened it by acknowledging the differences between the United States and the rest of the countries. While “compromise can only be found if we accommodate each other’s views,” she said, “we can also say, we differ.”
Ms. Merkel also pointed out that most of the countries supported the Paris accord on climate change, while Mr. Trump has abandoned it. “It will be very interesting to see how we formulate the communiqué tomorrow and make clear that, of course, there are different opinions in this area because the United States of America regrettably” wants to withdraw from the pact, she said.
Mr. Trump seemed to relish his isolation. For him, the critical moment of Friday was his long meeting with the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin, which seemed to mark the reset in relations that Mr. Trump has been desiring for some time. It also provided Mr. Putin the respect and importance he has long demanded as a global partner to Washington.
Where previous American leaders saw their power as a benevolent force, and were intent on spreading prosperity through open markets and multilateral cooperation, Mr. Trump has portrayed himself as a nationalist, a unilateralist and a protectionist, eager to save American jobs.
What recent events have underscored, though — and especially at the G-20 — is that no nation is today large or powerful enough to impose rules on everyone else. In advancing his views, Mr. Trump has alienated allies and made the United States seem like its own private island.
Nowhere was Mr. Trump’s isolation more evident than on the issue of trade.
Mr. Trump thinks the United States has been unfairly disadvantaged by sweeping free-trade agreements like the North American Free Trade Agreement or the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He believes the steel industry in particular has been savaged by globalization.
Within days, he could impose restrictions and new tariffs on steel imports. Doing so would be a provocative move that could affect trade with more than a dozen major countries even while lifting the spirits of his most ardent supporters.
The tariffs could very well provoke a global trade war.
European officials here reacted astringently, threatening to retaliate. “We will respond with countermeasures if need be, hoping that this is not actually necessary,” the European Commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker, said on Friday. “We are prepared to take up arms if need be.”
Targets could include American whiskey imports. “I don’t want to tell you in detail what we’re doing,” Mr. Juncker said. “But what I would like to tell you is that within a few days — we won’t need two months for that — we could react with countermeasures.”
The Italian prime minister, Paolo Gentiloni, warned that new protectionist trade measures could bring “contagion” that would slow the growth of the world economy. “We cannot waste this moment of recovery, giving signals of protectionism or of incorrect trade behavior,” he said.
But as Mr. Trump contemplates protectionism, Europe and Japan reached a landmark free trade agreement this week. Mexico and China, two of the United States’ largest trading partners, have been mulling their own deal. The world is moving ahead regardless.
Is a United Europe Important? 13 U.S. Presidents Think So.
Mr. Trump and his economic team have been delaying the decision on steel in recent weeks because of disagreement among his advisers.
For weeks, trade lawyers, industry leaders and members of Congress have been anxiously awaiting a recommendation on the matter from the Department of Commerce. They view Mr. Trump’s decision as a moment that will illuminate whether he is ready to make good on his campaign promises to protect flagging American industries with tariffs.
Among those most on edge are economists, many of whom have been uneasy about Mr. Trump’s unorthodox views on trade because they have seen the damage from such actions before.
The United States imported 30.1 million metric tons of steel last year, making it the world’s largest steel importer, according to the International Trade Administration. Canada, Brazil and South Korea are the three biggest exporters to the United States, followed by Mexico and Turkey. China, the target of much anti-globalization rhetoric, is not such a major factor, at least not in steel.
Michael Strain, an economist at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, worries that retaliation from China and Europe to any steel tariffs would be particularly painful for American exporters and could lead to job cuts when Mr. Trump is trying to bolster employment and labor force participation.
While the steel industry, which Mr. Trump promised to revive, could benefit, other industries like construction and housing would probably suffer. Many of the workers in these industries and the consumers who buy their goods are likely to be the types of moderate-income voters who backed Mr. Trump.
“It will hurt the people it’s designed to help through higher prices,” Mr. Strain said. “Ultimately the economy will lose.”
On Friday, Cecilia Malmstrom, the European trade commissioner, warned the Trump administration that new tariffs would face a challenge in the World Trade Organization. A similar challenge led to a rollback of tariffs imposed by President George W. Bush in 2002.
“If global trade rules are not upheld, the E.U. will retaliate, but I cannot say now exactly how and when,” Ms. Malmstrom said. “We understand that the U.S. has concerns about overcapacity in China but we don’t think this is the right way to go, as you cannot fight protectionism with protectionism,” she added.
But Mr. Trump has even contemplated pulling the United States out of the World Trade Organization itself.
On climate, too, the United States — just a year ago a leading voice in favor of global action to reduce carbon emissions — is on its own path.
Negotiators haggled late into Friday night over language declaring that 19 of the G-20 members consider the Paris accord “irreversible,” an effort to cast the United States as an outlier for jettisoning the pact while glossing over friction about the decision.
But American officials were pressing language saying the United States would work with other nations to help them gain access to and use fossil fuels “more cleanly and efficiently.” This suggestion met with stiff resistance from President Emmanuel Macron of France.
Mr. Trump did little to paper over the disagreement, although his staff made sure that he did not have to listen to much criticism on climate change. His meeting with Mr. Putin was scheduled to begin just 15 minutes after the start of a G-20 working session on “Sustainable Growth, Climate, and Energy,” so he left after making a brief statement on the matter.
Alan Rappeport contributed reporting from Washington, Peter S. Goodman from London, and James Kanter from Brussels.

All of which, Frumpfass promised not to do in campaign speeches.

AS IF TRUMPCARE WASN'T A COLOSSAL FAILURE ALREADY, HERE COMES ROUND TWO OF PROPOSED CHANGES. TRUMP AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE NOW SUGGESTING THE RETIREMENT AGE SHOULD BE RAISED TO 69.

Republican chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee of Ways and Means, Sam Johnson, is championing the proposal which proposes 15 changes to Social Security laws. All these changes are horrifying to seniors, to working class Americans, and to low-income Americans.

In addition to the age-increase, the changes also include taking away benefits for the families of the disabled and for retired workers, as well as an adjustment in the living costs of seniors.

Did anyone have the guts to stand up to this insult? Nancy Pelosi did and she immediately issued a statement condemning Republicans for their callous attitude.

Apparently nothing upsets House Republicans like the idea of hard-working people getting to enjoy a secure and dignified retirement.

She made it clear the 15 proposed changes are cuts to Social Security benefits. Pelosi went onto say some Americans could see their SS benefits cut by a third, not to mention an increase in retirement age, that makes comfortable senior living practically impossable at least for the middle class and the poor.

Is this what Trump supporters voted for? Cuts to Social Security and the end of Medicare?

Didn't Trump himself once promise not to touch Social Security at all? You mean he was just lying? Really?

So what is the GOP thinking with this legislation? If Trump and the GOP are dumb enough to let this law pass, it's going to turn even their own die-hard supporters against them.

Trump supposedly won his campaign because he targeted working class Americans who were tired of elitist politics. But if this law passes it would be most damaging act of elitism we'™ve seen in many years.

I had ther pleasure of meeting and working for Merle Haggard back in the late sixtys. A wonderful man.
Don G. Dinsdale wrote:
~ MERLE HAGGARD ~

Merle Ronald Haggard (April 6, 1937 – April 6, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and fiddler. Along with Buck Owens, Haggard and his band the Strangers helped create the Bakersfield sound, which is characterized by the twang of Fender Telecaster and the unique mix with the traditional country steel guitar sound, new vocal harmony styles in which the words are minimal, and a rough edge not heard on the more polished Nashville sound recordings of the same era.

Haggard's childhood was troubled after the death of his father, and he was incarcerated several times in his youth. He managed to turn his life around and launch a successful country music career, gaining popularity with his songs about the working class that occasionally contained themes contrary to the prevailing anti-Vietnam War sentiment of much popular music of the time. Between the 1960s and the 1980s, he had 38 number-one hits on the US country charts, several of which also made the Billboard all-genre singles chart. Haggard continued to release successful albums into the 2000s.

He received many honors and awards for his music, including a Kennedy Center Honor (2010), a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2006), a BMI Icon Award (2006), and induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (1977), Country Music Hall of Fame (1994) and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (1997). He died on April 6, 2016 — his 79th birthday — at his ranch in Northern California, having recently suffered from double pneumonia.

Haggard's last recording, a song called "Kern River Blues," described his departure from Bakersfield in the late 1970s and his displeasure with politicians. The song was recorded February 9, 2016, and features his son Ben on guitar. This record was released on May 12, 2016, marking the end of Haggard's music career
