I am going to repost this here in hopes of getting some more worthwhile replies. Otherwise my time here is finished. This place has too many ignorant “conservatives” to make it worth my time.

In an effort to garner public support for the fledgling Jamestown Colony, on April 28, 1609 William Symonds, Lector of Christ’s Church Greyfriars London, delivered a sermon entitled “Virginea Britannia”. His Scriptural text was Genesis 12:

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation…

(I am quoting the King James text since it is what I have on my computer; Symonds would have been using a previous translation, likely the Geneva Bible or the Bishops’ Bible, since the AKJ was not published until 1611.)

In June 1616 Uttamatomakkin, the priest and head advisor to Opechancanough, an Indian King in Virginia, arrived in England. During the overland journey to London Uttamatomakkin began counting all of the English he saw. But naturally he soon lost count due to their number.

When Uttamatomakkin returned to Virginia Opechancanough asked how many English there were and Uttamatomakkin told him, “to count the Stars in the sky, the leaves upon the trees, and the sand upon the seashore, for so many people…were in England.”

Compare the Indian’s words with:

Genesis 22:15-17
And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore…

Well you certainly are correct about my contempt for fools like you. Unlike the likes of you I don’t post my opinions and call them facts. I say what I say on the basis of history. It isn’t my fault that I know more on this subject than you do.

I was merely explaining certain facts of history and pointing out an interesting coincidence pertaining to them.

The New Deal, largely, dealt with relief - that is temporary help. The Great Society was something far worse - it created a permanent underclass dependent on the government and was a cynical move to cement the underclass as sure voters for the Democratic Party.

Exactly what I have already said. The New Deal was a conservative’s program designed to stave off revolution brought on by libertarian/reactionary excess. The Great Society was a liberal’s program to destroy the family unit and thus disrupt society.

Quote:
The pill did little more than present a more convenient form of birth control - and did little to stop the propagation of the underclass.

Easier birth control meant it became easier to sleep around. The pill gave us sex without consequences writ large and this facilitated the liberals’ Sexual Revolution which lead to divorce and illegitimacy and these things have been subsidized and thus aggravated by the Great Society and this has created a permanent underclass.

Quote:
Abortion did more for underclass population contol.

How do you figure? How many un-married women are raising children on welfare, food stamps, HUD housing and Head Start because they had an abortion?

I would certainly donate to organizations who have helped me in the past. Salvation Army. St Vincent DePaul Society etc.

I have never once asked any church for help either for myself or on behalf of anyone else even at times when help was desperately needed. If you think I am going to donate money to any church or religion-based charity, you are a fool. And I refuse to donate to any charity that has paid administrators. They have a job; I don’t.

My mother has lupus.
I have congestive heart failure.
I have crippling arthritis.
I have stroke-level high blood pressure.
I am my mother’s only caregiver.

How in hell do you expect me to have spare money to waste on charities?

You can control how explosives are used so the user determines whether or not they are dangerous. You cannot control marijuana because using it distorts your ability to think and act rationally. You cannot use marijuana without forfeiting your ability to control it because using it means marijuana controls you.
