National Archives Stumbles onto New Obama Scandal — ‘Wholesale Destruction’ of Government Records’

205 39 13
David Ferriero, the archivist in charge of transferring Barack Obama’s official presidential records into the National Archives has encountered a big problem. According to a report published last Sunday more than a few of those records are missing – a lot more than a few.

Real Clear Politics’ reporter Thomas Lipscomb said Ferriero “has been driving a much-needed digital overhaul and expansion of the National Archives over the nine years of his appointment.” He noted a few weeks ago that the work “will greatly improve the ability of digital search locally and remotely, as well as accessing the files themselves.”

Offenders of the missing records include those of several EPA officials, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former President Obama. Andrew McCarthy a former federal prosecutor, called the breach in protocol ‘an unauthorized private communications system for official business for the patent purpose of defeating federal record-keeping and disclosure laws.’”

Ironically, it was then President Obama who signed the law that added electronic communications under to the 1950 Federal Records Act. Apparently Obama, like Hillary Clinton, considers himself above the law – even those he publicly champions and signs.

“The accumulation of recent congressional testimony has made it clear that the Obama administration itself engaged in the wholesale destruction and ‘loss’ of tens of thousands of government records covered under the act as well as the intentional evasion of the government records recording system by engaging in private email exchanges,” says Lipscomb.

Now one has to wonder exactly why Obama broke with past presidents by opting out of the presidential library network operated by the National Archives and Records Administration.

At that time the spin given the Chicago Tribune was that Obama’s decision to opt out of a relationship with the National Archives was to save taxpayers millions of dollars by escaping some of the regulations set by the NARA in terms of both endowment and of the design of the library. Whether the records now found to be missing have anything to do with that decision is now open to serious consideration.

This isn’t a matter of someone forgetting to return of a few library books. As Lipscomb noted, “America’s National Archives is facing the first major challenge to its historic role in preserving the records of the United States.”

Why even have a National Archives administering a presidential library if it is missing records critical to scholarship and government oversight? More importantly, as Lipscomb asks, “what’s to prevent evasion of the entire federal records system by subsequent administrations to suit current politics rather than serve scholars for centuries to come?”

President Barack Obama pledged repeatedly that he would run “the most transparent administration in the history of the United States” during both of his presidential campaigns. Though a friendly media mostly turned a blind eye, he did quite the opposite during his eight years in office by actively working to conceal important information from the public.

There were a few during the period of those two terms who tried to bring to light Obama’s wholesale breaking of his own pledge.

David Sanger of The New York Times acknowledged how far the administration went in stifling the free press when he wrote: “This is the most closed, control-freak administration I’ve ever covered.” His colleague James Risen agreed when he called the Obama administration “the greatest enemy of press freedom that we have encountered in at least a generation.”

For the most part, however, those in the mainstream media failed over and over to cover evidence of a corrupt administration that hid regulations from Congress, controlled the press, and bypassed the voters will through executive orders.

The IG report may conclude some in the FBI did not have political motivation for their misdeeds but there is no doubt the wanton destruction of possibly damning evidence was systemic in the Obama administration – from the top down.

The same press that makes a news story out of President Obama impulsively tearing up hand-written notes while aides taped them back together to give to the National Archives played right along with Obama’s “most transparent administration in the history of the United States” charade.

The Obama administration rescinded a regulation in March 2015 that required administrations to comply with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. As a result, Obama exempted himself from public scrutiny and oversight.

Now we know why.

(Originally and accurately stated about Jerry Falwell, by Christopher Hitchens.) To use Trump's style of hyperbole, no politician in the whole history of humankind has been filled and ejected more BS than Trump. Just the facts, ma'am, sorry. Am I Trump-hater? Disgusting things call for disgust. It is not personal in any way. He has more than proven he does not know or care about facts and truth. Whatever best serves his self-interest--for image, profit, or to escape responsibility--he will say and act on. No moral compass or sense of decency. Study his history. Research what he has said. See how he has acted. "Depraved indifference" to others and anything but Trump is his unique calling. This is pure observation, visible to any that had the eyes to see. Like watching a rabid animal. There are distinctly defined behaviors to make that assessment. One doesn't hate such an animal; they are sick and cannot help themselves in acting and doing what they do, like biting and giving rabies. Same with Trump.

I feel fairly certain that by his low character and self-absorption that he will finally do something horrifically awful (that should have been his border policy or any of his few thousand lies) or the gross accumulation of his depraved indifference to his followers, America, morality, ethics, the law, and anything under the sun but himself over time will eventually wake you up. Until then, let him be your voice of anger and revenge and fear; he's good at that. Call me just a partisan, low-life hack Trump-hater. I get to sadly chuckle "just wait." The day is coming. It is inevitable. And I will not be there to say "I told you so" but to offer my condolences; we both suffered under this hobgoblin of mediocrity and menace.

Democrats’ Disregard for Americans

It is time our tax dollars are spent on American citizens in need and not on illegals. It is also time to acknowledge that America cannot and must not continue to attempt to be the savior of those seeking amnesty while Americans suffer. It is time to put Americans first. The 2016 U.S. Census Bureau estimates the official poverty rate is 12.7 percent, 43.1 million Americans. Yet, at the federal, state, and local levels, approximately $134.9 billion of our tax dollars are used to pay the costs incurred by the presence of more than 12.5 million illegal aliens, and about 4.2 million of their citizen children. Why are we paying for illegals when Americans are in need?

It is also time to ensure that all Americans realize that the Democratic Party cares more about gaining power and control of our tax dollars than they do about us. Why else would they rebel against President Trump’s MAGA agenda that puts Americans’ interests and needs first? The Democratic Party puts non-Americans first. There is no reality to their comparison of immigrants who founded, built and made America great to those today who enter illegally or because they do not fare well in their own countries. The world has changed. Our forefathers did not come to America to form a government that would pay for their housing, food, education and medical needs. No, they came to build a country where citizens were free of dependency on a central government and in control of their own lives. The American dream is to maximize our talents and to control our destiny without harming others. All immigrants entering the United States illegally today are criminals. Far too many commit other crimes to better themselves at high financial and emotional costs to citizens and legal aliens.

An executive order in January, 2017 directed officials to collect data on the immigration status of federal inmates. It found 24,476 of the 185,507 inmates in the federal Bureau of Prisons system were not citizens, with 92 percent of those in the country unlawfully. Another finding was that 97 percent of the 13,081 confirmed non-citizens held by the Marshals Service awaiting trial were in the country unlawfully. State and local prisons and jails hold approximately 90 percent of the country’s total incarcerated population. According to the Justice Department, the vast majority of violent crimes such as murders, assaults and rapes are prosecuted at the local, not federal, level. The number of these violent crimes committed by illegals has not yet been tallied, but even one is too many. Yet, Democrats attempt to stop ICE from following the law to deport dangerous criminals from our towns and cities. Why?

Americans, it is time to throw Democrats and Republicans-In-Name-Only, RINO’s, out of elected offices. Vote in every primary and election at every level to install Republicans who will fight for our safety. That includes changing immigration laws and building the wall. Vote to further: our prosperity through economic growth and employment; our world leadership role; the opportunity for all Americans to pursue their American Dream. Vote in those who will help President Trump to Make America Great Again. Our country’s future depends on it.

A bipartisan group of former U.S. attorneys has penned an open letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, calling on him to end the Trump administration’s highly controversial family separation policy at the border.

The 75 former U.S. attorneys condemned the zero tolerance policy, announced by Sessions in May, under which children are put into shelters while parents facing prosecution for illegally crossing the border into the United States are jailed.

“Your Zero Tolerance policy has resulted in the unnecessary trauma and suffering of innocent children,” they wrote in a letter published Monday on Medium.

“We also emphasize that the Zero Tolerance policy is a radical departure from previous Justice Department policy, and that it is dangerous, expensive, and inconsistent with the values of the institution in which we served,” they continued.

It is time for you to announce that this policy was ill-conceived and that its consequences and cost are too drastic, too inhumane, and flatly inconsistent with the mission and values of the United States Department of Justice. 75 former U.S. attorneys to Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Although President Donald Trump and several members of his administration, including Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, have repeatedly claimed the family separation policy must be enforced, legal experts, including this group of attorneys, have challenged such an assertion.

“As former U.S. Attorneys, we know that none of these consequences  ― nor the policy itself  ―  is required by law,” they wrote in their letter to Sessions. “Rather, its implementation and its execution are taking place solely at your direction, and the unfolding tragedy falls squarely on your shoulders.”

They continued: “It is time for you to announce that this policy was ill-conceived and that its consequences and cost are too drastic, too inhumane, and flatly inconsistent with the mission and values of the United States Department of Justice. It is time for you to end it.”

WHY RESISTANCE TO TIGHTER GUN-CONTROL? Simple, gun control doesn't work! All it does is make law abiding citizens have a harder time getting guns & ammunition! Criminals DO NOT obey laws...that's why they are called criminals.

Happy Birthday... I am approaching my 80th the end of July, however I sorta vowed I would stay 79 for awhile 80 sounds so terribly old...I voted for JFK my first opportunity to vote for President in1969. At that time I was attending BYU, a Mormon college in Provo, Utah. I had enrolled in German 101 & the instructor,a return missionary from Germany said the 1st day that since the Presidential elections were on he was going to take a brief poll each week by the raising of our hands. "Who's voting for Kennedy?" I proudly raised my hand & as I looked around, I quickly realized I had the only hand in the air...I don't remember how the rest of the "vote" went as I suddenly felt "all alone"...So sure enough each week for awhile I raised my hand alone & gradually other hands joined me so that by about the end of the Semester perhaps about half the class had joined me in raising there hands! The class was about 30 - 35 students as I remember. The elections happened & a day or two later I returned to class & merely walked in with a big smile! I did very well in German studies & earned an "A" for my first in a foreign language. I thought I must have an innate talent in linguistics so the following Semester I signed up for Russian...BIG MISTAKE...I persevered & ended the 2nd semester with a "B" in both German & Russian...not bad I thought...I also had to take my Junior Proficiency exams that 2nd Semester & ironically I scored very high as apparently taking 2 foreign languages stimulated my knowledge in English. This was an unexpected bonus! I then left Provo & BYU & returned to Salt Lake City to the University of Utah. I had met a young lady who soon became my wife & I resumed a job I'd had before attending BYU, Cancer Research Tech. My new wife had 2 young sons who I eventually adopted. This was 1961...1963 came & JFK was assassinated...I was devastated!

I became a "student" of the JFK assassination for the next several years. The Warren Commission was a "Sham" Oswald was a "patsy." Ruby shot Oswald...Ruby was a pasty...WE learned that the JFK "kill" shot came from the front wiping away much of the right side of Kennedy's head...I believe there were more than one shooter & suspect Oswald was not a shooter...the Warren Commission made their claims which I & millions of others doubt...to me Democrat & Republicans & CIA & FBI & others (may) have participated in the Kennedy assassination...then we had the Teddy Kennedy Assassination & the MLK Assassination... a decade of assassinations...What was America becoming I thought? I became a wish-washy voter...not voting if I didn't like the candidate & along about 1988 I had to register Republican to vote against a man I couldn't stand in the primaries...I have remained GOP ever since...dems are a "failing" party...something has to be done...I am so glad that Donald J. Trump came along & decided to be our current President I hope he survives to be a 2nd termer...I will sure vote for him...I will also vote for all the Republicans who run in 2018...I will probably never vote Democrat again... I did continue college, slowly at times, & eventually graduated in 1965 with a B.S. in Psychology...didn't have time for more languages...soon had 4 boys to raise...
