Arch - I’m not entirely clear if you think the murder of an unarmed black man was an OK thing or not. I hope you will clear it up for me and (hopefully, depending on how it is clarified) all will be OK between us.

The meme is about privilege, and to whom it is given. Had the jogger been anything but black he surely would not have been shot. Had Flynn been black I cannot imagine the DOJ would have dropped the case. Of course the above is speculation, which I usually think is not useful. But everything in our society these days tells me it is true.

This seems to me to be an emblem of what is very, very wrong in our country these days.

Why people post anything that comes across their screen without research is beyond me.

- Schiff doesn’t even have a sister. The falsehood is born out of the fact that Soros’ son, Robert, was once
married to a woman who also had the last name Schiff.

- Kerry’s daughter, Vanessa, is married to Brian Nahed, a neurosurgeon. Nahed is of Iranian descent, but

- Chelsea Clinton is married to Marc Mezvinsky, son of Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and Edward

- David Rhodes is in fact the brother of Ben Rhodes, Obama's Deputy National Security Adviser for
Strategic Communications. He was never the president of the CBS network. He was, however, president
of CBS News from February 2011 until January 2019, when he was replaced by Susan Zirinsky.

* YES, ABC News correspondent CLAIRE SHIPMAN is married to JAY CARNEY, former Obama White House Press Secretary
- Clare Shipman is currently "Good Morning America" senior national correspondent. She was with ABC
News for 15 years. She is in fact married to Jay Carney former Obama White House Press Secretary

- You are correct on both counts. However the most recent story attributed to Jaffe per the ABC website
was September of 2013, about an Amish girl with Leukemia. As far as I can tell, Katie Hogan was the
Deputy Press Secretary for the Obama for America campaign from March 2011 until January 2013. She
was never Deputy Press Secretary at the White House, as might be implied by this post.

* YES, ABC President BEN SHERWOOD is the brother of Elizabeth Sherwood, Obama's former Special Adviser.
- Ben Sherwood was in fact President of Disney-ABC Television Group. Sherwood departed in March 2019
when Fox acquired the company. His sister, Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, was the U.S. Deputy
Secretary of Energy from October 2014 to January 20, 2017 under Obama. Previously, she was White
House Coordinator for Defense Policy, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Arms Control and,
before that, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European Affairs since January
2009. So at one point she was in fact a Special Assistant to Obama.

* YES, CNN President VIRGINIA MOSELEY is married to TOM NIDES, former Hillary Clinton's Deputy Secretary
- Virginia Moseley has never been President of CNN. She has been and is senior vice president of
newsgathering for the network's U.S. operation. Tom Nides (currently at Morgan Stanley) was Deputy
Secretary of State, serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Department from January 3, 2011 to March
2013. Note there are two Deputy Secretaries of State. So he did in fact serve under Hillary Clinton
when she was Secretary of State.

I did go back and read both the articles you shared.
One might possibly extrapolate from this statement in the Vox article that quarantine only delays the spread of coronavirus:

“Even if you don’t reduce total cases, slowing down the rate of an epidemic can be critical,”

But nether article actually makes that claim or substantiates it with a model.
Nor is there any implication at all that everyone will be exposed no matter what.
I fear you may be reading into these articles a scientific idea that they clearly are not trying to convey.

I agree with everything in this post. Both the possibility of overwhelming the healthcare system and the avoidance of hospitals when necessary are both really serious possibilities.

But this post does not address the question of whether or not quarantine is a positive or negative tool in fighting the spread of coronavirus. Perhaps one of the articles you added addresses this question...I will go back and read them both.

This is the statement that I questioned:

That wasn’t even the issue. He is unable to show any empathy whatsoever, and is so thin-skinned that any question is met with retaliation. He could have answered in a different way, but he chose not to. He is acting like someone who knows they are a failure.

I'm wondering if you are a physician, nurse or epidemiologist.
If so, let us know why you have different POV than the rest of the folks in the medical field.

I'm in favor of trusting the folks who have both advanced degrees and years of experience when it comes to medicine and public health.
