It is lack of regulation that caused the the recession. How do you stop a multi-billion dollar corporation from controlling prices, without some kind of regulation to control them? The answer is oversight by Uncle Sam. Just look at some of the great laws that came out of the progressive era. The pure food and drug act is just one. Sometimes I think that our national credo should be " in corporations is our trust". I do get it, I just wish others would!

It is the regulation by government that creates the all powerful corporations.
Every thing from special tax breaks, subsidise, sweetheart deals, government contracts, to the suppression of any competition which makes these companies so powerful.

And none of it would be possible without the government regulating them, under the disguise of protecting us.

In the end the Robber Barron’s were financed by the European bankers which gave us the Federal Reserve and the IRS. All creations of the government for the global bankers.

Without government regulations protecting them, they wouldn't survive.

I taught Modern World History for over fifteen years in Maryland. As part of the course, I taught about the Protestant Reformation, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and many of the Chinese philosophy- religions. I completely agree with you. Students should learn much more about world religions. Learning about other religions and worship are very different. If a Muslim kid asked to be excused from class to pray, no problem, if the administration ever asked me to lead a prayer, I would have raised hell. According to the Second Amendment, the state has to remain neutral in all cases of religion.
I remember a mom coming into class to complain about me because her daughter " had a religious experience " while studying Buddhism in my class. Of course, I explained that her daughters " conversion to Buddhism was not in any way my intention. Can you imagine how many parents would be up in arms if I had the kids say a prayer that was part of a different faith?
Fortunately the nine wise souls in Washington have declared this practice to be unconstitutional. As an individual citizen, I am very much in favor of families going to their place of worship. but as an employee of the state, other peoples faith ( or lack there of) is none of my business!!!

You disagree that children should be exposed to God? Yet you agree that they be exposed to Atheism? How does that make sense. Evolution is the devils way of taking our mind off of God. You seem to think it is all right? How about the moon is made of cheese. Is that all right? I do believe that teaching about different religions is worthy of our school system. It is not trying to convert or distress anyone to know the systems for which many societies have grown and believed. How much do you know about Babylon? How much do you know about the Egyptian system. How much do you know about Islam, and Buddhism, and any other system, If you do not get some knowledge of it. how can you teach it or even fight it.

We are not to be free of Religion, just to be free from having it forced upon us, it is a personal choice. When you know what you are choosing, you feel secure in it.

And besides, the nature of this country was conceived by certain religious beliefs. those beliefs should be honored as part of our history. You cannot know this nation unless you know it's foundation.

I live in South Carolina, one of the most conservative states in the union. Our schools suck for the most part and workers are among the lowest paid in the nation. The politicians are often corrupt, and there is a problem with just about everything that state government is responsible for. I'd move to California in a heartbeat if it weren't so far away from family!

My 3 favorite morons...I know you are SOOOO proud of them...Come to Ga. with your bullshit, and you won't have to worry about tar or feathers...

I don't know anything about such a treaty. It sounds like a Fox News treaty to me, but in any case, the US Senate has to ratify a treaty. My .357 Magnum for better or worse is in my night table ready to go if needed and will remain so. I'm no lover of guns and wish we lived in a world were they were not needed, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon!

If you don't agree with them, that is fine, no one is forcing anything on anyone else here, just presenting ideas. You in turn are presented with every opportunity to post an opposition to them and you are free to do so, but you can't do something simple like that. You just have to start calling people names and that is your entire argument in opposition to them. Why is that? Are you so simple minded that you can't even post a coherent reply that other people are interested in reading?

I hate to say this, but if you can't be decent in your replies, then people will simple start ignoring you and you can rant all you want and no one will pay any attention to you. There is no one reason for the problems that you've discussed. Todays corporations are too powerful not to be regulated by government. This is nothing new. Just read about the era in US history between the 1860s and the 1920s. They didn't call the super rich robber barons for nothing!

Libs need to wake up and understand it's the gov that stymies growth and investment not cheap over sea's labor and greedy owners.

Lets remember that most of the horrific crimes and massacres were caused by white Europeans.Have you ever heard of the Crusades, the Terror of the French Revolution, World Wars One and Two,The Spanish Inquisition,Russian Pogroms, etc.,etc. It seems to me that all those nice civilized white countries are the real murderers and evil doers of history.11

you no longer just criticize and discriminate them because they are black, now you insult their culture. you hold no water, to insult another culture is stupid, because if they were white and they started where they are back in history before modern civilization, they would do the exact same thing they did, and are doing now. WHAT a politician that didn't know what he is talking about!! How shocking. Even if the POTUS wanted to do away with guns ( which he doesn't) there is Congress that would never pass such a law and the courts that would find it unconstitutional! There is enough to worry about without listening to extremists and nut jobs that make up these stories to fire up conservatives even though there is no basis for the accusations!

Obama also said if you like your policy you can keep it and never did he say unless we don't like it. He wants to get rid of our guns but hasn't figured out how to do it yet. I guess if they manage to take the other house of Congress we can either hide them till they come after them or give them up. I am not giving mine up to that left leaning bunch.

I understand. It can also be a great place to relax. The Dead Sea has some great hotels and spas' I found it spiritually enriching. It is one thing to read the Bible, it is another thing to stand in the footsteps of Jesus, Moses, David, etc. and read the same texts. I visited many New Testament holy sites and was inspired by the faith of pilgrims that came before me.

I agree with your thoughts about government teaching religion to kids in school. Should never happen. One thing I don't understand, if you are a Christian, how can you say that you don't believe in Satan? Jesus himself was tempted personally by the devil. That is plainly taught in the Bible.

Jesus cast out demons from the man in the tombs and sent the demons into a herd of pigs. I don't know where you are coming from. If you so choose please explain. Thanks

I said I was a person of faith, I didn't say I am a Christian. I happen to be Jewish. I did go to Wagner College, A Lutheran School and did graduate work at Loyola University of Baltimore a Catholic University. I have the greatest respect for Christianity and consider it a sister faith.,

I disagree with everything you wrote in this post. My faith doesn't believe in a Satan. There is but one God, not a good one and a bad one. I am a person of faith, but believe that religion has no place in school. The First Amendment and subsequent court decisions have wisely held this. I wouldn't want the local, state or federal government to teach my child religion. Thats my job. I wouldn't mind a course in comparative religion which would teach what other cultures and peoples believe. We have Freedom of Religion... lets keep a good thing.

In today's world, we have conflict in both religious and secular divisions of our society. This is not new. This is the main controversy we have had since the beginning.

It started in the Garden with Adam and Eve, and Satan. When Lucifer rebelled and was cast down as Satan, he put into play his system of Getting as opposition to God's system of Giving.

Since that time Satan has devised many many schemes to destroy the system God had devised for humans. This attack on God through humans has been the cause of all the trouble on earth.
Without putting it into a time frame, these elements have been the main "wars" we have been involved in.

1. Atheistic Communism.
The adoption of this concept by Russia, China, Eastern Europe, North Korea, Vietnam. Atheistic Communism is responsible for mass murder. Hatred of God as the main driving force.

2. Evolution
The basic concept here is that there is no meaning to life. We are here by chance. This concept was to free men from the political and economical system and God's morality.

3.Freudian Psychology
Freud taught that guilt was inhibiting, and inhibiting sexual freedom was the cause of mental and emotional disorders. He promoted sexual freedom as the answer. Physical pleasure as the driving force of man.

4. Sexual Revolution
This invention has turned our society from a moral to immoral society by taking the fear of unmarried pregnancy from women. But it is a moral failure in that there are more more murders by abortion.

5. The Banning of God and Prayer.
The removal of the Bible from public schools has led to a one sided view of society and consequently the moral restraints of good behavior. This along with legalization of abortion has established humanism as the primary religious force in our society.

Atheism is the driving force behind all these and those that aspire to it believe they have arrived at some superior station above everyone else and they have the right to eliminate all those they consider inferior.
