What would you know about the truth. br Obama is ... (show quote)

Firstly, thanks for the compliment. I've never considered myself an intellectual but simply one who prefers to do my own thinking and decision making.

If you will note, all these articles are represented by republicans. I'm amazed Obama has gotten this far with all those evil- and selfish-thinking members in our government. What I said above still stands. All you narrow-minded and non-thinking people do is spout the same old stuff. How many of you have read that law? Few, I think. You'd rather get your great information from the non-thinking guy down the street rather than investing the time at doing your own researching and decision making.

Just look at what the R Party has done to one of its own members. They put Cruz up there to spout the TP propaganda and, when he does (because it didn't work out in their favor) they condemn the man.

Initially he (Obama) attempted to accomplish much in a bipartisan manner. Due to the Rep Party, he was unable to accomplish as much as he desired. This was due to the fact that that party had already decided not to back him in anything he suggested. As someone has already stated , the only thing the Reps do agree on is that want to "get" Obama. They have no policy but make one up (for the time being) depending on their next attack. I'm sure, to their dismay, he will be looked upon historically as one who at least attempted to do what is best for this country. That's what I call American and not those who will sacrifice the government for their own selfish need to further their hatred.

I both feel AND fear for you non-thinking followers. I believe the Bible calls them "sheep." I say sheep in the sense that if one leaps off a cliff, the rest will follow. That is not thinking. Rather it IS emotionalism and brain washing as from father to son. "My father was a Republican therefore I am a Republican!" No thinking involved. I find the liberal democrats - especially the young ones - don't fall for that line Perhaps you think of following in Dad's footsteps and thinking is a sign of respect. It means to me that you are taking the easy way out by simply imitating. That is and always has been the easier way. One doesn't have to THINK! For some - it does hurt their heads!

[quote=BoJester]A new poll reports that people do not want to defund Obamacare if it means shutting down the government. All deomgraphics but one, and you know which demo that is, the teabag party, do not want a shutdown.

Of course, the Tea Party doesn't want the government shut down - only Obamacare.

This is at least the second time the REPS have brought this nation to this point - purely so they can have their way. Evidently they are not interested in this country. That's what I would call UN-American!

The truth is that they do NOT want the President to leave office with anything but negativity having occurred during his term. I still call that racist.

Two phrases I recall is "Make the White House White again," "We want him to be a one-term president." The third phrase was during the convention when "Forget the fact finders" was stated openly. This proves that they can only appeal emotionally to their followers. Their followers are not intellectual but RESPOND purely on emotion and, instead of researching situations themselves, rely on what "John down the street" TOLD them.

Well, his second election truly upset and disturbed them (they didn't believe he would win the first) and they are still bringing up doubts they used during his first term. He is an American and a visionary. He's the only president I've felt proud of in a very long time. I'm so glad to see that he IS accomplishing even with THAT GROUP against him and trying to trip him up anyway they can.

I must say that especially because the GOP does not feel shame for their actions, I do feel shame for and on them.

You've got a good battle going on but I'm sure you are able to handle the situation.

You excel in racial language. Your vocabulary proves that you don't think - just feel and hate. I don't think you have a decent thing to say about anyone. I was raised among people who used the words Spics, Guineas, etc. but I don't recall that these terms carried the venom depicted in your words. I didn't appreciate the terms then but, please give me an answer: What do you call white Christians?

Thank you, rumiitoid. Since the Republicans don't have enough decency to feel ashamed of themselves, I do so for them.

Rather than being interested in the welfare of this country, right from the beginning they have put all their efforts into making Obama a one-term president. I'm sure they were surprised when he won the first election - didn't expect a Black to win. But they certainly pulled out all the stops in the 2012 election. I've never experienced such dirty politics in my history.

Obama's ideas for this country would be fabulously workable if only he weren't hindered by this TParty House which is not interested in bringing this country around. I am proud of what he's accomplished in spite of them.

The presidency is a horrendously difficult job without a group of biased and greedy individuals fighting against any idea that is good for this country.

Would the price of gasoline have anything to do with supply and demand? During a recession, the consumption is low. You probably know that. The Obama administration has reversed the unemployment trend producing almost 6 million jobs with no help from the TParty Congress. It could have been over 7 million. Anyway, you should be glad that McCain - Palin did not win. We would be in deep financial trouble if that were the case.

To repeat, "Your comment is asinine." If you will note, I did not state that YOU were asinine. I refuse to call names in any correspondence. That is accomplished sufficiently by people who can only come up with asinine comments.

Also, I never attacked anyone or anything viciously.

I've seen advertisements put out by the NRA and they are NOT directed toward responsible programs. No child should be handling a gun - any type - under the age of 12. Yet, I've seen photos depicting children under the age of 5 being trained. The NRA has spent inredible quantities of money, epecially after the multi-death producing outbreaks we've had.

I maintain that if people do not have a gun, they won't use it.

The government is not directed to removing all guns from those who have them. Primarily it is against multi-action rifles that have no place in a normal society.

I definitely can see the need for a rifle for hunting - BUT NOT SQUIRRELS! And answer me, "Who has need of military weaponry besides the military?

My information came from an on-line news service. How else will I know about this except being there. I don't watch TV and I don't get my info through hearsay.

If I did watch the news on TV, I certainly wouldn't watch FOX nor listen to any of those "conservative" idiots on radio.

My intention was to generate ideas about gun control and not include political parties. Evidently that didn't work There are those who do not pay attention to the subject at hand and must attempt to either sway others of a different mindset or give them labels

The comment I stated was concerning an incident which occurred in the Greater New York Area. I keep in touch with Channel 7 News. I am dismayed by the amount of gun crimes in that area primarily because of the Carry Bans. In this particular situation not only did one person shoot another but the friend of the wounded person was also carrying!

The NRA believes that if more people carry guns, everyone will be safer. The above incident disproves that theory.

I do recall that, during the rush hour in California, when people are frustrated and tempers rise due to rising temperatures, drivers had been known to shoot at other drivers simply because they were stuck in traffic.

My point is: If people are given ammunition to use (when normally they will simply swear at each other or, the greatest extent will be a fist fight, they will use that ammunition.

Psychological exams do not work because any really smart person (or, some times, a psychologically unbalanced one) can pass those tests. I see nothing wrong with hunting for food but, in many cases, people hunt because they like to kill. That instinct is in all of us if we are allowed to express it. I'd personally rather see a fist fight.

The only way I can see to prevent people from killing each other in a temper is to ban carrying concealed weapons.
