Good thing I didn't have any expensive whiskey in my mouth when I saw this; I would have spit it all over my computer!!! (And you all know I hate to waste any whiskey, much less expensive whiskey)

IMHO: If the USA comes out of this virus with only 200,000 deaths from COVID-19 we should all cheer. That's only 0.053 percent of the population, which is statistically insignificant, a tempest in a teapot. I feel sorry for those families who suffered deaths due to the virus, but overall the USA is doing quite well, and I hope we can keep it up. From what I see in various stores where I've gone into, myself gagged and gloved, only about 50 percent of the customers are bothering to protect themselves or others with a mask or gloves, which is rather selfish of them as well as being reckless and uncooperative with little to no common sense or consideration for others.

I have little fear of death or the virus even though at my age I am at greater risk, but then, I won't stand in front of a tree that is being cut down. If the virus gets me, it gets me, and that's OK, but I will continue to wear my mask and gloves rather than trying to maintain foolish and selfish macho status. After all, seeing me masked and gloved makes others feel better.

Since this country was founded every one in this country aside from the American Indian is a transplant so that would mean that all of us should be cut out according to your daffynition.

Actually, Native Americans are thought to have migrated over the Bering Straight about 15,000 years ago (maybe more).

Most scientific evidence seems to indicate Homo Sapiens (our species) first appeared in Africa at least 130,000 years ago. So it would seem that everyone except them is an immigrant of some sort.

Don’t see how you can say that with a straight face. Everything Trumps done has been backed by science. The science and the models are constantly changing but the trouble with you and your ilk Is you only see two choices. Either stay at home until a vaccine is produced. Even though the average time to develop a workable vaccine is about five years. Or, open up the economy and everyone go back to work. There is a third choice. Spend most resources protecting the most vulnerable and let each state open it’s economy as they see fit. People are going to die from this virus. People Can also die from loss of income and freedoms Just basing your decision on science is stupid. Economics happen to be as important as science right now.

You lost me at two phrases, JF:

"Everything Trumps done has been backed by science"

and

"Just basing your decision on science is stupid"

Pretty simple. The four deaths in Benghazi were 100% preventable. The enemy wasn’t some invisible enemy that couldn’t be stopped. The Obama administration (for whatever reasons) decided those lives were expendable.

Hindsight is always 20/20.
I'm assuming, because of where you live, and your ultra-conservative stance, that you are older.
(I realize this may not be the case)

As far as I can tell, the current administration appears to be saying older people are expendable in this pandemic. Reopening states with no regard for the science of what could happen to vulnerable populations is a clear indication to me that some folks are less valuable than others (or money)

Obama's response to Ebola was quite admirable... Although I'm no a fan of the man, I've looked into it a bit (and there have been several articles posted) and he did well

Benghazi shouldn't be mentioned... That's a terrible comparison...

Why is Benghazi not relative? The meme associates number of deaths to conservatives' response.
I stand by the comparison.

These "murder hornets" seem to be nothing more than the Japanese Hornets that have plagued NC, SC, and GA for I don't know how many years. The behavior is the same, and they are about the same size. One more thing... they hurt like HELL when they sting you. They also attack and destroy honeybee hives which puts them on my doo-doo list. Bees in this country are having a hard enough time as it is; especially here in the Southeast. I had to get rid of a nest of those bastards once. I thought it was cold enough that they wouldn't react to the poison I sprayed. I was wrong.

Seems the Japanese Honey Bee has developed a strategy to fight the murder wasp.
Looks like they swam a hornet, vibrate enough to raise the temperature inside the swarm-ball to over 100 degrees, and the COOK the hornet!

Bees outside Japan seem to have not learned this grisly technique.

Here in WA I vote by mail also, but there is also a special drop box for ballots.
You are sent a ballot which you mail or drop off. I don't know if the system is secure or not.
I'd be willing to bet King County is full of voter fraud.
I don't think the democrats have won an honest election since Truman.

Looks like King County's vote-by-mail is pretty damned secure.

LOL Smedley. Snow has actually fallen TWICE in my 26 years here!
Of course it was only on the highest elevations and didn't stick.
Kind of like the time is snowed in Tallahassee, FL when I was a kid.

I asked her about that if there is anything that the SCOTUS can do about that and stop New York and California from running that scam. I haven't heard anything from her as of yet.

Oregon has been voting by mail since 1998, and no one has said a peep. You can vote in person there, but you have to register with your local elections office to do so. Seems to have been working well there for a long time.

And I must say that you are a breath of fresh air, and a fine example!
We don't have to agree on everything, or hate each other for the disagreements.

My life of nearly 7000 years with Mrs. B. (joking) is absolute proof of that!

hahahaha!

Ditto my 20+ years with John.
