CPU chips ran about 8MHZ each dumbass. GaAs (gallium Arsenide) was being developed out there at China Lake for use in Integrated Circuit chips and were successful for achieving CPU speeds in the GHZ speed range you dumbass. The problem? Data bus backplanes could not handle that rate of data transfer without ringing which in turn corrupted the data. The technology to ground the backplane came to fruition later. Notice how I said the 68010 was 8MHZ? that was 4times as fast as the 2MHZ 8080, which was 8 bit. What gave Motorola an advantage is that it was programmable with long-words. Now take that toy and figure out how to do that...better yet, call the vendor and see if that controller is even capable.....ask them what interface hardware is needed (for peripherals and a dedicated math board before on-board co-processor chips even came into being) and what software they can provide you to operate a system controller, A/D sampling circuitry that feeds an array processor board to perform at least a 128-point Fast Fourier Transform that will take radar returns from the receiver, change them from time to Doppler frequency domains and then use those returns and interface them to a digital shaft encoder that will provide real-time pedestal positioning data that aligns itself with missile trajectory...from the time of locking in on track until the missile flight is over and the pedestal returns to the stowed position.
