The government is in the hands of big money & nothing comes out of Congress that big money can't use to gain greater control over us. Me I just grit my teeth a bit & at 76 go out & try to keep up.

I will keep saying it that we here with our different views must try to aline them & make some sort of sense of all of this. If we can do that. it would be a step to fixing some of the problems. WE CAN NO LONGER COUNT ONE ANSWERS COMING FROM WASHINGTON. IiF WE DON'T COME UP WITH PEACEFUL ANSWER OTHERS MAY HAVE WORSE ANSWERS.

That it is costly to set up is true. What do you first? The storage problem or produce the energy? Is the answer to just stop & do nothing & one day the is not enough energy or do we keep trying to find new ways? Life in one sense is not that hard & yet it is not that easy. Isn't better to make smaller changes a head of time or should we wait to long & have a big mess?

Obamacare may scare you but really scares me is the over all cost of medical care. Why does something like medical care
have to be so expensive while the care you get is getting worse,

The why is that there are too many hands in the mix wanting increase profits. Obamacare is a first step in trying to bring better health care to more people. The right is giving a view that they oppose it but it is being set up for profits. This can be seen in private companies cut off private plans. It is a chance to cut expenses which will increase their profits.
Any time that there is something that may help the average person there are those that see it as a chance to get more money for them self. Greed rules the day.

The sad thing is that there is like a line in the sand & the people on one side are winners & on the other side losers.
The sad part is that most of us are on the loser side. you may think that by supporting the Right that you are on the winning side but you are not & I am not.

The best we have to look forward to is braking even & dieing in our sleep.

A one time in our history the members of Congress decided what to do mostly in private. They would put laws together Put some thing in each Bill to get enough votes. If the law was good for big business it passed quickly. If the law might be good for the man on the street it wasn't a quick pass. Again it was loaded with things to help Special Interests. Now all of this is done more in the open & it exposes Congress for the goof ups they are or were.

I say what is needed is for each bill to contain only things that pertain to the core of that bill.

In this day & age a computer system could be set up.
A bill would be entered by any member but must only be about a single issue. A time limit would be set & if it didn't get enough votes it would die & be removed.

Being in a secure closed system members could suggest changes at any time or rewrite the bill leaving the older bill Adding to or changing anything. This could get away from a lot of haggling.

I is not for me or us here to set this up in detail but to mull it over & suggest things.

This way each bill would stand on it's own.

Yes there is a God. If not a real one, one that man kind invented. You see we need some one or some thing to believe in. I can in no way prove to you there is a God as you can not prove to me there isn't a God. Can we let it go at that?

There was a time in my youth that I went bare footed a lot.
Stepping in cow pies didn't seem so bad. In the spring barn yards were quite muddy & it wasn't all mud. Bare feet washed off better than your shoes.

It just that I hope that when bare footed I don't get them stepped on to hard.

Lets find out how much we are a like
I am a 76 year old white male of modest means.
Still work a few hours a day. Have a home, an income property, & a few dollars in the market Have a wife of 50 years 7 children, 11 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.

I am quite conservative by nature but not politically.

I feel that the deck is stacked against the average person.

I feel government is not of & for the people at this time.

I believe that most people for the most part are good.
I look for the good in people more than looking for the bad.

I believe that those of us here no matter how different we may seem can come to agreement as how to make the world a better place.

I believe that we are more alike than different. We have most of the same problems in life & we can find ways to solve them & still get along.

I believe I can give an open mind to all I read here.

I wouldn't say that Congress is dysfunctional. They function just the way they want, which is having their way. They don't seem to care much for most of us, as they seem to feel that we are just so much doggy dodo under feet. That seems to be okay for many because they don't seem to mind being doggy dodo. Not only being doggy dodo but kissing back sides & liking it. If more of us would speak out & stop being treated like doggy dodo maybe things would get a bit better
