I have my doubts you would risk your life for anyone or anything. More likely you would call someone like the veterans you disparage to do it for you. The fact is that you have the freedom to post your opinions not because of some "right" or "law" but because active duty service men and women, and veterans have already either put their lives on the line or stood ready to do so to defend that right. "Rights" are simply words unless you have the force to back them up. Other nations do not respect us because they are nice people. They restrain themselves because they know what we would do to them. This country's armed forces are an extension of political will, or desires, if you prefer. Whether they are driven by corporations or more likely international money lenders, the same applies to every other developed country in the world. Your statement about defending corporate interests is somewhat lame, unless you would prefer to be ruled by a different corporation. You have just denigrated the US government, for which I can't blame you. You also support gun control which gives everyday people the means to offer resistance to the same corporate control you reference. I believe you are jealous and resentful of veterans because they actually did what you claim you would be willing to do. I have been in a shooting fight, and no one who has been in a shooting fight of any kind eagerly looks forward to engaging in another one unless they are a complete fucking lunatic, yet it has to be done sometimes.
If this country is to survive and thrive once more, it will be because of men like the veterans you denigrate, NOT because of people like you.

God bless our veterans who are/were willing to give their all, even for the ingrates like straightenup! There are so many Americans that realize the sacrifice these veterans made and take the time to show their appreciation for their service like those in this story that was sent to my husband from another former veteran.
Mr. Doug is a loyal Arby's customer.
"This is the only place I can get a sandwich or get something to anything else to eat that doesn't hurt my stomach," Doug replied.
He sits at this very table and eats the same meal every afternoon.
"He has a stomach disorder, this is unfortunately the only thing he can eat," Travis Coye said.
A roast-beef slider with Swiss cheese and a senior drink... Coke with no ice.
"He comes in with a walker, as soon as we see him come to the doors, we try [to] grab the doors for him," Christina Gamage said.
Manager Christina Gamage started working at this location near Queen Creek and Alma School Roads two-and-a-half years ago. Doug started showing up shortly after.
"He's gone through a lot being a veteran, coming in, being in a retirement home, but he doesn't have family," she said.
The crew here adopted Doug as their own family. This week, a FOX 10 viewer snapped a photo showing staff at the Arby's presenting Doug with a $200 gift card.
They say lunch is on them.
"He was shocked, hardly had anything to say," one manager said.
But words cannot even begin to express how much Doug means to everyone here.
Employees say they have given Doug their phone numbers. If there's ever a day he can't make it, they will deliver his favorite meal.
After our live report, Arby's decided to give Doug food for life, which will kick in once he uses up that gift card.
A local eye doctor also stopped by the restaurant to offer Doug a free exam and glasses.
