OK, I agree with the state legislatures appointing their Senators. But that, again will require an Amendment to the Constitution. It also does not place term limits on Senators. States could then appoint Senators any number of times. So we make no progress.

I am not sure it would require an amendment because that is the way we started out.

3/5ths of the States' legislatures moving to Repeal the 17th Amendment would be a good start in holding Senators accountable to their states. It was not the founders intent for Senators to be elected by popular vote for a reason. Senators are supposed to representing their state's interests. If the state legislatures chose the Senators to represent their state's interests then things would be very different. The State legislature's could then challenge the decision making by their selections.

At one time that is the way it was done. I don't remember when it was changed.

Amazingly uninformed and confused - but we've come to expect that from you - happy about Medicare and Medicaid while complaining about deficits and railing against a Supreme Court ruling that you clearly have no idea on what it said - showing so much malinformation in one posting is a special talent and you are special

Tell us, Dave, what percentage of the people signing up for health insurance in California are getting it free. O)r is this just your normal conservative/Republican (despite your protestations to the contrary) blather ?

80,000 have signed up in California.

The young people are not signing up. Those who are are those that get large subsidies and get it for free.

just read that.

So, your saying your not prejudice to Republicans or conservatives?

You are the embodiment of everything you accuse others to be. And you are even worse, because you don't see it.

claytonin-I do not believe you will find confirmation anywhere. However, since the precedence has been usurped you can rest assured that it will be used to further Obama's agenda which is to destroy the America we once had. Reid is a mind numbed puppet who will do whatever the establishment tells him to do. Do not be surprised if they use it on immigration to recapture the Hispanic vote . They are not interested in sealing the borders but only in passing something that will get that vote back on the democrat side. These people are corrupt down to the core .

Then start with the Democrat party and work your way up to your President.

Yes, those nasty money makers - we need to eliminate them - worked well for the Soviet Union, why wouldn't it work for us?

The failure of so many people to understand what has clearly been shown time after time - socialism doesn't work - suggests that stupidity is deeply ingrained on those who embrace it.

I have never worked for a poor man.

Reid may have so problems if the website for ObamaCare doesn't work right. Too many democrats could well lose their seats in 2014 unless they smarten up.

I seen a poll today showing that in Oct dems led republicans 50% to 42%, now it is 49% to 47% Republicans.

No doubt in my mind Obama will go great damage in the final years he has left.

I think that is what the nuclear option was all about.

I heard on a local radio station that, now Reid wants to use this on everything in the senate. I have only heard it once so I don't know how reliable that is. But it could have great repercussions on the American people.
