How well I know of the discrimination smokers receive. Being a smoker myself for the last 64 years, and counting, I have received all types of discrimination. In fact inhaling all my own smoke plus all the second hand smoke from myself and smoker friends it's unbelievable I'm still alive. Guess the doctors and insurance companies are full of bull bleep or maybe they have declared me invincible; unable to die. I'm very polite around the public and non smokers but they can smell cigarettes on my clothes and self. They treat me as a leper. Do I know discrimination? You bet. Does it bother me? Not any more. I just stay within the law and let those who chose to dislike and/or hate to be themselves. It's their lost. Not loss of me but loss of inner peace. I'm beginning to think they think hatred is a badge to be worn on their lapel. It also tell me they don't know hate pains the hater far more than the hated. It's their choice.

No, I am neither a squid or jarhead. I was and am serving in the toughest role ever; tax payer and model citizen at an expense and sacrifice big time. As for AuntiE and Mack, distance is safety. Being a model tax payer and citizen I need all the safety I can find. As for BB, well, he is the keeper of the jack. Nuff said.

A tactical response; absolving any responsibilities for any actions resulting from their actions. I thought you were above that. All actions cause reactions. Even a Marine should know that. Squids know that. They take their responsibilities seriously. Just ask badbobby. I will admit taking responsibility for a cat is dangerous. Could be fatal in some cases. Just ask AuntiE.

I know. I learned the hard way that one should not squeeze the balls of a bob cat in an enclosed phone booth. You think that's why there are no more phone booths? Guess that is because the phone companies don't wish responsibility for bob cat squeezers. The phone companies need not worry as there are very few of us survivors left.

How To Bathe Your Cat

1) Thoroughly clean the toilet bowl.
2) Lift both lids and add shampoo.
3) Find and soothe cat as you carry him/her to the bathroom.
4) In one swift move, place cat in toilet, close both lids and stand on top so cat cannot escape.
5) The cat will self-agitate, producing ample suds...ignore ruckus from toilet...cat is enjoying this.
6) Flush toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides power rinse, which is quite effective.
7) Have someone open outside door, while standing as far from toilet as possible and quickly lift bath lids.
8) Clean cat will rocket out of toilet and outdoors, where he will air-dry

Sincerely, the dog.

Your instructions on how to give a kitty a bath is wasted effort on me. I don't own a cat. Poor poor me. However, to fit in with society I may try your suggestion on the neighbor's cat. I can just hear the plumber now, "your clog was caused by a giant fur ball". Think maybe I should use the neighbor's toilet too?

On a scale from 1–10

Reagan: 4. Sure he destroyed the middle class, and there was the whole Iran-Contra ordeal that would have been worthy of impeachment if Oliver North hadn’t lied to protect him. But at least he knew Russia was not trustworthy. He wasn’t a great President, but he played one on TV.

Bush Sr.: 5. Yes, the failing economy was the key reason he lost re-election, but mostly that was Reagan’s fault. He may not have accomplished much, but at least he stayed out of the way. He should have gone ahead and removed Hussein following Desert Storm when he would have had the support of Iraqis and their neighbors. Failing to do so cemented his reputation as a wimp.

Bush Jr.: 2. Yes he allowed the worst ever terrorist attack on American soil, and yes he responded by attacking the wrong country—twice. Yes, his economic policies almost led to a Depression. He spent a third of his term on vacation, came to power by opposing counting votes, lied to congress, instated torture, curbed the Bill of Rights. He probably should have been charged with war crimes. And he should have scored a 1, except there would have been no place to go down. And sadly, we have to go down.

Trump: 1. Only because I said 1–10. If negative numbers were allowed we’d be digging a hole with no bottom. He conspired with a hostile foreign power to attack our election. He spent his entire campaign making racist and misogynistic attacks, and offered to pay legal fees if his supporters would assault protestors. Since taking office he has backed out of agreements that protect our air and water, reneged on treaties with other countries, allowed North Korea and Iran to expand their nuclear programs unchecked, has cowed to Russia and has restarted the US-Soviet arms race, has flatlined a healthy economy, has spent almost 300 years worth of Presidential salary on more than 200 golfing trips—much of which went back into his own pockets, wasted money on an idiotic parade, is diverting money from military families and national defense to build a wall that will never be completed, obstructed the investigation into his corrupt dealings with Russia, has profiteered off of the Presidency, has boasted that he would accept illegal help from hostile governments again to get re-elected if given the opportunity, has told over 12,000 verifiable public lies, has suggested he should do away with elections and stay in office for life. And he is setting records for lowest approval ratings, highest disapproval ratings, most turnover in an administration, and most indictments in an administration. Sadly, I know I’m leaving things out.

On a side note, I can’t imagine with the state of the Republican Party now that we’ll ever see a Republican President score above a 5 again. I’m hoping that the next one will at least be better than the last two, but I’m not optimistic they’ll be as good as even Reagan or Bush. My optimism ends at hoping somewhere out there they have a future candidate who can score a respectable 3.

Permafrost, it appears through your freedom to share your opinions you are also free to judge. Somewhere I heard "judgement is mine saith the Lord". I always thought that was/is good advice since without judgement there is no hate. The hater harms his/her self far more than anyone else. Not wishing to harm myself I adopted the no judgement rule as best I know how. Am I perfect at non-judgement? Of course not, just better than I was. I'm calmer and closer to inner peace than I was. Since I wish you inner peace and calmness I am sharing my opinion with you. Who knows, you may become better than me in the state of non-judgement. It's just my opinion as I have very few answers but many questions. You are free to be who or what you chose. Thank the U.S.A. for that. I just wish you well as one human being to another.

Maryland School District Adds “Third Gender” Option for Students

“Good morning, boys and girls…and others?”

The traditional school day is being turned upside down in one Maryland school district. The addition of a third gender option and some “safe space” classrooms for small children that somehow identify as LGBT are changing the way schools address and teach children.

The Montgomery County Public School District in Rockville, Maryland announced some fresh new policies that impact the way teachers and staff can refer to students, whether students have had a legal name change or not.

The school district also implemented some other “woke” policies, including one that allows students to announce their own gender. They can now be boys, girls, or the mysterious “X”, the symbol that the school has adopted for a “third gender”.

This summer, Montgomery County quietly rolled out these an other LGBT compliant policies, from gender neutral bathrooms to the way staff can address students. Students can change their names and pronouns without legal paperwork – they simply select the name that they want to be called, and decide what gender they wish to be referred to as. Staff is required to comply.

This particular policy should go over well with Middle Schoolers, who are already some of the most challenging kids to manage in a classroom. “Call me Ted today”, “Nope, never mind, it’s Mary” and “I am gender X, because it is Tuesday” seems to be a likely consequence of giving 5th graders this much power over their teachers.

Staff must call kids by their chosen names, and refer to them by their stated gender, or face sanctions from the school board. Since the school is not to require any kind of legal notice of change, kids can change things up on a whim, making classroom management far more challenging and complex for teachers.

In addition to gender and name choice, each school must provide a safe space, just for LGBT students. This includes children as young as five years old. “Safe zone” stickers have been created to identify these spaces and teachers will need to undergo additional training to be able to have a “safe space” classroom.

Some areas, including offices, classrooms and recreational spots are to be considered safe zones, just in case they are needed by LGBT students.

School districts in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia were swift to follow suit, instituting their own “safe space” policies for even young elementary students. Across the country in Oak Park CA, parents are battling the school district over the LGBT classes the district has planned for young students.

Students in Oak Park are set to learn that “gender is self defined” and that “there are many gender identities” while still in elementary school. Parents in that district are fighting the introduction of these topics at such an early age, but the school is committed to their stated curriculum.

School has just begun in Maryland, so there is no word yet on how well the “safe spaces” for LGBT 2nd graders are working out, or how many kids are opting to be gender X instead of boys or girls.

Na, too easy and shows common sense. Most legislators don't think that way. Poor Donald has to work and interact with those silly rascals that can't find a way out of a wet paper bag. But our main problem is those who vote for these "limited politicians" or maybe it's just questionable vote tally's. One wonders. How much attention do we give to those people or things that count the votes? Are they ever questioned? If so, by whom?

NO NO NO. You people don't know how horrible it is to physically live forever. Let me, (as a two hundred and forty seven year old), tell you stories that should make you shiver just thinking of physically living forever BUT STILL AGING. On second thought no I won't. It could scare you into insanity. Pray for stores that sell all weapons of destruction so as to remove the possibility of physical life forever. It's our only hope. I'm living proof of the unknown physical and mental pain that awaits. Our sole hope is a return to our soul existence. Think about those apples. Good Lord, Adam and Eve and I are on a first name basis. Johnny Appleseed is looked upon as a hero but look at the damage and pain he has indirectly caused. Unknowingly do-gooders cause most of our problems. For every action there is a reaction; every coin has two sides, etc. I think the time has come for badbobby and me to meet, sip a little jack, and compare notes. It won't help anyone but what the heck.

Yes, time has a way of increasing it's speed. I see that as positive as I'm ready for the transition from physical to all spiritual. Heaven and hell are not geographical locations; they are a state of mind. Our own individual mind. The choice, opinion and creation of this world is ours to make within ourselves. May we all choose wisely.
