Politifact isn’t known for being the most friendly of “fact checking” websites when it comes to right-leaning individuals. Put an “R” next to your name and you’ll more than likely get more negative ratings on your statements than positive ones.

Enter freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). Apparently, she is so bad at telling the truth that even Politifact can’t give her a break. So far, the fact-checking website has had to cover six of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s claims and rate all of them “False” with the exception of two, one of which rates “Pants On Fire” and one rated “Mostly True.”

Does this make sense?

"I think that there’s a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right”.

Am I the only one who can make neither heads or tails of that statement? How can something be factually inaccurate but morally 'right'?

Am I missing something or is this a total oxymoron?

I was still deeply disturbed by the shutdown and the impact it had on other individuals and the economy as a whole.

What impact on the economy? Was there a crash or something that I missed? Do you really believe that government going out of business for a few weeks is enough to bring the greatest economic engine in the history of the world to a grinding halt?

Not to mention the dictatorial way so many people were held hostage (unsuccessfully) to the whims of the president and, by extension, his political base.

One: There was nothing 'dictatorial' about it. The President is the head of the executive branch. He has a sworn responsibility to secure the borders whether they be north, south, east or west. He asked Congress to support him in that endeavor and was rebuffed. This was not a 'whim', it was a responsible leader bringing attention to a problem that needed more attention than it was getting due to some rather childish people who have no business being on positions of power. Nobody was 'held hostage' or even threatened with such a fate.

A pretty low point in our democracy, in my opinion.

Agreed. If we had a democracy. It's actually a representative republic, but the sentiment is a valid one. If only there were better educated and more responsible people in congress, this would never have happened.

The battlefield being standing your ground on racism and bigoted beliefs? The person who no longer wears a MAGA hat being a coward because he no longer wants to be seen like that?

People on the hard right say things and then they don't like clarity shined on what they just said.

I see what you just did there. There is no 'racism and bigoted belief' in the Trump movement. It's all a figment of your wild imagination. You really should go to a Trump rally before you start spouting this kind of drivel.

It's an example of what some Trump supporters identify with, and Trump did nothing to denounce them except for some weak platitudes under pressure....and they wore MAGA hats when hoods would have been what really suits them best.

Whether you want to recognize it or not, wearing a MAGA hat has an association with being a racist bigot.

Only in your tiny mind. You have been conditioned to think that way, and I pity you for that. There is nothing racist or bigoted about wanting to improve he lot of all Americans, regardless of their race, color, creed, religion or sexual birthright, but you can't see that because some power hungry socialist told you otherwise and you believe it. That make you a victim and that''s what your political ilk aspire to the most.

The Right Has To Stop Beating Up AOC...

It's hard not to! Every time she opens her mouth she puts her foot in it, right up to the knee! Simply reporting her words verbatim is enough to instigate howls of laughter from people for miles around. Only in New York could such a mess be elected to the halls of the US Congress.

Okay, maybe in California, but hopefully they'll secede and we won't have to put up with them any more.

Putin doesn't seem to have any problems threatening Trump, he made a statement that if the US intervened militarily there would be consequences....

That's not a 'threat', it's a statement of fact. He's saying that if the US interferes in the Venezuela debacle militarily, it will be an affront to the Russian operation in that area. In other words, 'we were here first'.

This is some idiotic stuff right there.

Allow me to refer you to the U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 9, clause 7:

“No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.”

Spending bills originate in the House, not the Senate. If the House does not pass a spending bill, the Senate cannot vote on it. Go back and ask Nancy (previous definitions still in full force) why her house has not passed a bill to finance border security for the senate to vote on.

The dictionary of 'Trumpisms':

Nancy, noun; definition:

witch, virago, frump, battleaxe, harridan, wench, bitch, broad, cow, dragon, harpy, hussy, minger, cuckoldress and trollop.

This list is not exhaustive and is subject to expansion as circumstances dictate.
