A longtime Fox News commentator on Tuesday let the network have it in a scathing letter to colleagues announcing his departure.
In an email to Fox News staff, first obtained by BuzzFeed News, strategic analyst Ret. Lt. Col. Ralph Peters claimed he decided not to renew his contract earlier this month because of how “ashamed” he is of Fox.
Peters attributed his decision to Fox’s defense of President Trump amid alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election, declaring that the network was increasingly “wittingly harming our system of government for profit.”
“Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers,” he wrote in the email. “Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed.”

He continued: “Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration.”
The retired colonel did make carve-outs for some colleagues.
He exempted the increasingly political Fox Business Network—which The Daily Beast has reported as even more pro-Trump than its sister channel—as well as some hosts and reporters who have “shown courage” by standing up to the “propaganda mouthpiece.”
But for a negative association, Peters singled out Fox’s primetime hosts for repeatedly running block for Trump by dismissing and agitating against federal law enforcement and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
“When prime-time hosts—who have never served our country in any capacity—dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller—all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of ‘deep-state’ machinations—I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove,” Peters wrote.
Perhaps ironically, Peters has never been known as one of the network’s moderate or even left-leaning contributors.
In the past, Peters has used his Fox News airtime to bash Muslims and advance extremely hawkish national-security policies. He was infamously suspended by Fox News for two weeks in late 2015 after he described President Obama as “a total pu**y” on-air.
And yet he had become increasingly critical of Fox News and the network’s viewers under the Trump administration.
Last month, he acknowledged that his support for gun control in the wake of the Parkland shooting was unpopular with the Fox audience, and said that keeping assault weapons off the street was “a moral issue” that was about “dead children.”
During an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson last year, Peters compared the primetime anchor to a Nazi apologist for defending Putin’s actions in Syria.
“You sound like Charles Lindbergh in 1938, saying, ‘Hitler hasn’t attacked us,’” Peters said.

Trump has been a crook all his life, and has associated himself with people with shady past. He decided to run for President with a misguided message which appealed to a fraction of the population for nefarious reasons. He won, and is the President, but he' s still the same crook he has been all his life. He has money and a team of lawyers to protect and shelter him. In order to uncover his illigalities and expose his criminalities, first of all, a willingness to do it is necessary. Second of all, the knowledge and expertise in this realm is requiered. Here it is why Meuller came into the picture. Trump thought he had everything under control. He thought he was the only smart person. He used to call everybody "stupid", and "loosers". If he thinks everybody is stupid, he may well think he can get away with anything. He may well think he can outsmart everybody. There is a saying: "Tell me what you're bragging about, and I tell you what you are lacking". He is not happy that this investigation started because he knew where it would lead and what it would uncover. He is frustrated because he knows the only way to stop it is by firing Meuller and he has been told the bad optics and the consequences. He fired Comey to end the investigation and look what he got. Mueller. People say if he is innocent, he should let the investigation run its course, but he has certainly been acting like a guilty one.

Trump isn't entertaining enough to keep you busy? Heck, he's good for another memorable and newsworthy thing virtually every day. Try learning what the facts are about the things being leaked on a weekly basis, they are the preview of what's to come.

Had Hillary won we wouldn't be worried about Trump nearly as much as we would about Russia's hacking capabilities, this is something anyone should be worrying about. Unfortunately defending Trump means denying Russia is a problem.

Our intelligence services should be 100% all in getting to the bottom of the hacking issues, but we have this president and administration gutting the programs that were in place and on it. There is a huge difference between Intelligence being misrepresented as a reason to attack Iraq and intelligence doing everything possible to determine what Russia has been and is up to.

FISA Court Trickery Should Immediately End Mueller’s Investigation — If He Doesn’t, Mueller is a Criminal

We now know for a fact that the FISA court was tricked by the Obama Administration. The fake Russian dossier, paid for by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, was used to get warrants in order to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign.

The Trump Russian collusion story was a hoax created by the Hillary Clinton campaign. The Obama Administration used that hoax in order to illegally spy on their political enemies. I would say that is the biggest scandal in American history, but I believe the uranium one scandal is even bigger than this.

How can Robert Mueller continue his investigation when it started with this massive illegal activity and lies? Hillary and the Obama Administration committed crimes against Donald Trump’s Campaign, and yet, Robert Mueller is somehow investigating Donald Trump?

If this investigation does not immediately end, then Robert Mueller is colluding with the Russians to try to bring down an American president. Robert Mueller is committing a treasonous act against his country if he does not end his investigation immediately.

We know for a fact that the Russians gave Hillary Clinton fake information.

We know for a fact that the Obama Administration used that fake information to spy on the Trump campaign.

We know for a fact that there is zero evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians in any criminal way.

We know for a fact that the FBI tricked the FISA court in order to achieve this illegal spying.

We know for a fact that the Obama Administration illegally unmasked American citizens, including General Flynn.

We know for a fact that the judge from General Flynn’s case had to recuse himself. This judge was, and is, a FISA court judge.

We know for a fact that a crooked FBI agent was on Robert Mueller’s team. An FBI agent who leaked information and was openly anti Trump.

We know for a fact that the Department of Justice’s 4th highest ranking official Bruce Ohr, had a massive conflict of interest and did not reveal it. His wife worked for the company that created the fake Russian dossier for Hillary Clinton, known as Fusion GPS.

How can Robert Mueller’s investigation continue when the entire premise of Russian collusion has been proven to be a hoax?

How can Robert Mueller’s investigation continue when he knows for a fact that this was a frame job by Hillary’s Campaign and the Obama Administration?

Robert Mueller is 100% aware that fake information from the Russians STARTED this whole thing. Robert Mueller is 100% aware he is investigating the president over fake Russian information and is refusing to end his investigation.

Robert Mueller is not a man of integrity, he is now a criminal.

Robert Mueller is committing fraud against the American tax payer and enriching himself, along with his friends, with our money. He is trying to extend a fake investigation so he can collect a massive pay check!

We the American people demand that Robert Mueller immediately end his investigation or be brought up on criminal charges for colluding with the Russians in order to damage an American president.

I agree fully with your assessments. More than anything there is something disturbingly wrong when there is a Russian around every Trump corner. Everywhere you look there is a Russian tie or some indirect affiliation. What are we to make of that? What has been revealed so far is beyond smoke; it is a raging fire. Trump and his Republican cohorts in Congress are destroying this country. And to think the GOP was supposedly made up of patriots. Well, they have destroyed such persona -- which I never believed from the start. It's party over country for members of the GOP. and Trump over everything.
Well, Trump and those insane enough to protect him deserve to go down together! Hurry Mr. Mueller!
