First, the MSM media has Way more left leaning news outlets than the right does. In fact I'm not sure there IS a Republican show on MSM. I don't think there's a Democrat show on Fox either tho they have the left on regularly and are treated fairly. I haven't seen that on Meet the Press for quite awhile or Morning Joe, Rachel Maddow among others and they are constantly berating Republicans. They couldn't even handle the thought of a Republican consultant on the network. They could have actually had some decent conversations about us righties. Instead they ranted and raved and the network caved and she was let go after someone interviewed her because she HAD to. Chuck Todd even told the interviewer that the network should apologize to her for making her interview "that person." Not very unbiased.

I watched MSM until I started noticing the totally different ways they treated Democrats from Republicans. I've found that Fox is a tad fairer in the way they treat other parties they talk to. I love Harold Ford Jr. (I'd vote for him) and Jessica Tarlov (who just had her baby). They have very interesting viewpoints.
I don't watch Fox only. I watch alot of different networks. I do try to get different viewpoints. I also hope I'm smart enough to be able to know when I'm being misled. I screw up alot, but I try

Looks like Trump has done some jury tampering by outing the identity of a juror. This is really serious, and may lead to more charges against Our Favorite Career Criminal. One of my friends who did psychological testing beleives Trump is incapable of keeping his mouth shut, even though he has gag orders on him.

I believe your friend is right, unlike his political opponent who waivers as the political climate changes. This is one thing that makes Trump a strong President. If we had him the past 3 years we wouldn't be in the situation we are now in which is horrible. You don't have to like his personal idiosyncrasies but you can't help but notice what Biden has gotten us into in a short time. Do you like it?

The way I see it, Tom, we have three choices and apparently it will be either Trump, Biden, or nobody. Somebody will be elected so that really means two choices - Trump or Biden. I cannot bear thinking of another 4 years with Biden, even though I may not last the 4 years, so I will be voting for whomever is opposing him, which apparently will be Trump. Trump is no model of decency, personally, but can you think of anyone who has been in past Presidencies. Sometimes, even usually, we can't have the one we think is ideal for the job and none are perfect. Far from it.

I'm a lefty who watches Fox News on occasion out of curiosity. I've watched Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly. If you believe those guys that explains why you are so misinformed. When I was growing up we got our news from the local paper and our information from the likes of Walter Cronkite, Chet Huntley and David Brinkley. We were divided on how to approach things such as taxes, social programs, military interventions, and emotions could run high. We bitterly disagreed on Vietnam, for example. The difference is that we all based our arguments on the same facts. There was one set of facts. Rush Limbaugh was the first to spew hatred and misinformation. Remember the "Homeless update" where he made fun of the homeless with the Frogman Henry song? Rush is the one who divided this nation and Fox News came along with their version of "facts" while spewing hatred against the liberals. Right wing media invented misinformation, division and hatred in this nation, at least in my lifetime. The left and the right disagree. Those of us on the left are as patriotic as any of you on the right. To say otherwise is childish and ignorant. I like to read the opinions on One Political Plaza, as I like to read opinions from both sides. However name calling and hate filled rants seem to be more prevalent than ideas or opinions. That's a shame, as we can do better.

It seems that the news programs you refer to back in the 70's and 80's have given way to opinion programs on both sides of the spectrum. I have tuned into MSNBC and CNN occasionally as well and see programs like Joy Reid and Joe in the AM and Rachel Maddow and others and I can't believe what I am seeing. Fox is the same way on the right. Bret Baier provides a more unbiased news program which I consider to be more like the older ones you refer to. As I see it, there are many reasons for the departure from true news shows to the opinion shows. I believe much of it is due to the way Colleges have moved to the left in their philosophy toward education. God has been left out more and more in the education of our youth and it seems it is not so much just a ho-hum view like take Him or leave Him but more of an antagonism or even a war to exclude any mention of Him from life, often on the basis of the excuse of freedom of religion which has really turned into freedom from religion, unless it is muslim or another weird belief. We are paying the price for this movement and it isn't going to be cheap. Not all of the movement toward Godlessness is confined to the news media, most of it is reflected in the way the general population has responded to the changes in education standards and efforts. I believe the belief is that it is good to go that way instead of towards what the traditional Christian teachings have been over the years. If one likes what he sees in the world today, that is undoubtedly the way he will go. Personally, I don't like it.

We already humiliated the bulbous slug by just under 8,000,000 votes in 2020 so it is he that is trying to lie his way back to a job for which his is totally incompetent and incapable.
It was the application of the rule and law and the laws spelled out in the constitution that resulted in his indictments and in his twin impeachments in the first place. What are you talking about. Do you live in a cave?
The worst president since James Buchanan and even there with some argument, is Fat Donny the Loser. Do you really think that no one kept track of his crimes and lack of accomplishment? His record either speaks but most likely pukes the truth. Joe Biden, on the other hand has a record of accomplishment that matches or exceeds that of FDR who has been deemed #1. Biden, though, did it in less than a full term where FDR took over three terms. That record along with a list of Biden's achievements is also public record.
The Fat Loser's record in the White House is matched only by his remarkable lack of success with Trump University, Trump Charity, Trump Steaks, Trump Water and on and on the list of failures goes.

No I am totally loyal to My Country and I am voting out those who want to go backwards to the 1950's and not forward into the future. Not All the Democrat policies are bad in fact we need more.

By moving forward into the future, I assume you mean policies such as letting illegals storm into our Country and paying for their care, letting criminals out without bail, passing along debt knowingly signed for to those who earned their own way, allowing deadly drugs to be brought into the Country without any attempt to stop them. Maybe it'd time to think about the substance of what your party is doing instead of assuming their policies are always good.

YES! I love the writing of C.S. Lewis; one of the great 20th Century Christian apologists. In “Mere Christianity” he wrote:

“We do know that no person can be saved except through Christ. We do not know that only those who know Him can be saved by Him.”

Several of his books can be found on our shelves, but my first introduction to Lewis was reading his Narnia children’s books when I was young - over and over and over! I think I read them at least 4 or 5 times through, then two or three more times as an adult when I read them aloud to my own children, and once again just a few years ago, during the pandemic - just for me. It was like comfort food for the soul.

In the final Narnia book, “The Last Battle” Lewis hinted at the substance of the thought imparted by those two sentences from “Mere Christianity” when he wrote the end of the character Emeth’s story.

In “Stumbling Into Heaven: Emeth, Aslan, and The Last Battle,” blogger Matt Mikalatos explains it better than anything i could write. It’s a truly good read - and even pretty short! 😊

Thanks for correcting my paraphrase. I was speaking from memory so I wasn't too far off. Another of his books, one which I enjoy in a little different style, is "The Screwtape Letters." It is "written" by a subsidiary of the devil to his underling, I believe, and gives a different perspective on how the devil works. In fact I have it on my shelf and I think I will pull it out and do a bit more reviewing. Hope you enjoy your reading.

Great reasoning. NOT. You are exactly what's wrong with this country. I too can't stand Trumps lack of character. However; the direction of the country is much more important too me. Democrat policies are destroying this country, but because you are loyal to a party not your country you would rather watch the country burn then vote out the people ruining the country.

You betray Jesus by advocating the murder of 1.5 Billion children, His children, over the past 50 years. What you advocate is a sin far worse than what Judas did. Anytime we sin we betray Christ. To sin is to be human. To sin and not seek forgiveness is to be like the demons, like you.

Did Jesus forgive Judas? Judas never asked Jesus to forgive him. Isn't that the point, the issue?

I don't recall if we've discussed the lgbtq issue. Where do you stand here?

I believe that C.S.Lewis said, "We know that only through Christ can we be saved. What we don't know is that only those who know Christ can be saved." I'm not sure if or how that applies here.

I would suggest YOU re-read my statements because I never actually said that "well-educated people should be Democrats or they just aren't worth anything." All I said was that well-educated people in the middle-class tend not to vote Republican anymore.

There's plenty of research out there to support that generalization and political analysts in the GOP have even raised this issue as a concern.

This is from NBC News... The article is titled... "GOP faces massive realignment as it sheds college-educated voters"

Notice how it wasn't until 2008 that we started to see this divide. This is why I said they don't vote Republican *anymore*.

Personally, I don't think education has changed much in the years since. I think what we see here is evidence that the Republican Party has become more ridiculous and extreme and educated Americans just aren't buying it anymore.

2007-08 has nothing to do with your diagram. Assuming it's valid, it simply illustrates the decades long swing toward the left by college profs who have grown up being indoctrinated themselves. That's what happens when you allow the left to take charge in educating your kids. It doesn't start in colleges but that's where it leads and and hopefully will take a swing back the other way when these indoctrinated youth hit the real world and realize what they are up against as a result of leftist programs.
