However when you check the date, you find that the CNN poll cited was from June 22, 2018.

What do you think?

I think 'CNN'. Nothing further needs to be added.

Thank you for pointing out the definition. It's my name for the current president. He's the useful idiot to Putin's plan.

I see. So you are telling me that by applying that name to yourself you are somehow applying it to our President? I think not, and I further think that you are applying it in the correct context, as your own identity.

As for 'the useful idiot to Putin's plan', I'm sure that there are millions of Americans just waiting with baited breath for you to reveal just what exactly that is, because he isn't letting on in any clearly understandable way and our President has been doing a stellar job of healing the outrageous damage inflicted by the previous occupant of the White House, whose name shall not be mentioned in this post, thus revealing his Presidency as one firmly focused on 'making America great again'. Pretty soon it will pivot to 'keeping America great'. Maybe you're right. Maybe that's all part of 'Putin's plan'?

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt. Apparently you didn't get the memo.

How about this step which the NRA has threatened gun makers if they develop it. We have technology that employs biometrics to use devices like telephones. The same technologies can e used in firearms so that only the owner could use the gun. This way when some kid finds it under the mattress he can’t fire it. If you are trying to defend yourself from that Arab terrorist boogeyman that keeps you quaking in fear at night and he takes your gun away from you he can’t blast you with it.

"[T]he NRA has threatened gun makers if they develop it." With what? And why? Where on Earth do you get your talking points from? Be advised, the National Rifle Association has threatened nobody, ever. And never will. Get that through your thick skull. They don't need to. Their members are independent thinkers who are perfectly capable of making up their own minds about the veracity of a claim or the usefulness of a safety feature and putting their money where their common sense tells them to.

By the way, if "that Arab terrorist boogeyman that keeps [me] quaking in fear at night" as you put it, takes my gun away from me, it will be empty and he will be bleeding profusely from at least six holes in his chest. That's 'center mass' to us 'gun nuts'. Who the hell keeps his pistol under the mattress? I sit mine out on the bedside table where all of my family members can access it if they feel threatened. What's the point of having a defense weapon if it can't be deployed? Do you even live in this universe?

Excellent! You have successfully educated us all in one of the situations under which a United states Citizen may be born. Now, please refer to the phrase 'natural born citizen' and compare that to what you have provided here..

When asked if a supreme court justice dies the last year of Trump's what will he do, he said I'll fill the seat.

I'm thinking there would be a "little" precedent he set concerning the need to leave it up to the people to decide with the next election.

That statement is proof McConnell needs to be removed from office, that he has no regard for the constitution, the rule of law, and accepted norms. He makes his own rules up to suit his party.

Here, maybe this'll help:

Mexico is presenting a direct threat to the sovereignty and security of the United States and that defines a state of war.

I think it is time for us to clean up our hemisphere!

I was quite surprised to read this in a court document:

"Stefan Halper is a ratfucker".

To my understanding, a 'ratfucker' is the military term for someone who steals the more desirable parts of military rations and leaves the less appetizing portions untouched. Generally a 'ratfucked' ration has the sweeter things missing. The unfortunate recipient was said to have been 'ratfucked'. Reading further down the page, I see this explanation:

“Ratfucking” is a well-known political term, originated by one-time Richard Nixon campaign strategist Donald Segretti. It is a colorful and foul simile for “pulling a dirty trick.”

So, besides being someone who pilfers rations, it's also someone who engages in political dirty tricks. Interesting.

Besides all that, this woman was really put through pure hell for her association with General Flynn, and now she's been vindicated:

"The Mueller Report conclusively vindicates Plaintiff and General Flynn, and proves Halper and his associates were intentionally lying about virtually every material fact."

I hops she gets her $25,350,000.00. Should have asked for more.

It's accepted fact among rational, sane circles that Obama is a foreign born entity, was then, and always will be. Even Hillary Clinton raised the point in 2008 during the Democratic primaries (actually, I think she started the whole thing). So what do you propose to do about it?

That so-called 'long form birth certificate' he released has been shown to be a complete fabrication by some very respectable forensic detectives in Maricopa county, AZ. That didn't change anything either.

Think about it.

I am generally not a fan of Nicholas Kristof's column, and I know there are many strong, varying opinions on how to address gun violence in our country. But this column explores some things that I think make a lot of sense.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/11/06/opinion/how-to-reduce-shootings.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

As soon as I saw the New York Times in the header, my 'gun grabber' antennae went up, but he was doing just fine, until this little gem:

"...the issue is still tragically relevant — and will remain so until America tightens its gun safety policies."

What the hell are "gun safety policies"? Go ahead, Google it, I'll wait. As far as anything government is concerned, they don't exist. Gun safety is something you learn on the range, or at a class ran by the National Rifle Association. It's definitely not some 'policy' from government, and you can take that to the bank.

He made it all the way to the second sentence before shooting his pathetic 'we need government gun control laws' wad.

Okay! I'm out! I had no idea who Nicholas Kristof is until just a few seconds ago, and my life has not been enhanced by the knowledge of his existence. Yes, "there are many strong, varying opinions on how to address gun violence in our country", only one of them is strong, and it's really, really simple. Obey the effing law!

There are laws against many kinds of violence in our society. Some of them specifically address gun violence, as in 'don't, it's a bad idea'. The penalties are similarly draconian. Witness the Florida 10-20-Life rule. (10 years for committing a crime while simply being in possession of a firearm, 20 years for discharging said firearm in commission of a crime and Life for shooting somebody in the commission of a crime. Not killing them, just grazing their little pinkie is sufficient.)

He whines about how many guns are hanging around, just waiting their chance to do some killing. "America’s private arsenal is six times as lethal as Canada’s, and 30 times worse than Australia’s." We're not just gun owners, we have 'private arsenals'.

Moving right along here... "We don’t ban cars, but we work hard to regulate them – and limit access to themso as to reduce the death toll they cause. This has been spectacularly successful, reducing the death rate per 100 million miles driven by 95 percent since 1921." Right. Cars haven't improved. Roads haven't improved. It's the license that makes us all safe. Bullshit.

I can't 'do' this any more. That's as far as I got. I hope this moron never needs a gun to protect himself with until the authorities arrive, because by then it'll be too late.

And no, there's nothing 'intelligent' about his opinion.

Okay, I don't own a cat. I have only ever ever owned one cat, years ago, and he was more my wife's than mine. I like cats but have no use for them so I let the girls coddle the cats and concentrate on more useful applications for my time and resources. Funny really, because cats always seem to gravitate towards me after a few minutes of getting used to my presence. Same with dogs, that I also do not own, although I have also had a dog in the past, but not at the same time as the cat. Anything else you'd like to know?
