I was wait listed for NJ College of Medicine in 1972, the letter said I was fully qualified but sorry, no room. A week later I see a TV news segment that reports that the college will admit 35 minority students, out of a class of 85, whom they admit are not fully qualified but will be given remedial instruction over the summer. Very hard to not believe I lost my chance due to affirmative action. That was over 50 years ago; 50 years should be long enough.

The big problem is the unwillingness to manage disruptive students. This is frequently due to the administration coddling the misbehaving students in the name of equity or the belief that they should mainstream their problem students. Private and charter schools work because they can manage the bad students; if they have them they can segregate them so they don't ruin it for everyone else. There is practically a religious belief among liberals that all students must be coddled and not disciplined; this ruins it not only for the other students but the disruptive who never learn self control. Most teachers can be effective with good students.

I am not convinced that there is any warming. I am convinced that there is increased CO2. I am also sure that the US is only responsible for about 15% of the total and that there is no way China, the other developing Asian countries and Africa will control, let alone reduce their CO2 emissions. This means that even if the US went to ZERO CO2 emissions that we will not see any effect. Therefore our efforts there are just very expensive virtue signalling. I oppose all government expenditures and tax breaks for climate control.
