Vernon, I am all for Republicans exercising their power in Congress and standidng up for the Constitution and we the people who they are supposed to serve. But I fear many of them have dropped the ball. They should have been fighting this illegal anti - American president every step of the way with every weapon at their disposal. I think the only chance we have is new blood. Preferably Tea Party candidates. I like Marco Rubio. I also like Ted Cruz. It would be great to have two strong conservatives on the same ticket for President and VP.

Now Comrade Obama has a pathway to lift all sanctions against Iran and let it develop the bomb - unless the Senate bothers to hold a vote against Obama's scheme and disapproves of it with 60 votes against. Is anybody naive enough to think the same people who were elected to get rid of Obamacare, reduce national debt, stop Obama's economic destruction, etc, will fight him on letting Iran get an atomic bomb now??

We're in deep kaka.

These Republicans in leadership positions aren't much better than the Democrats.

Amen. It is difficult to watch what has happened to our country in my lifetime especially under this administration. But for those of us who are Christians we know God is in control and we already know the end of the story. He allows evil people in positions of power to accomplish His purposes. But in the end evil will be destroyed. I am so very grateful for this and can have peace and assurance even in the midst of the insanity we are watching.

It is my understanding he backed off of that and has changed his view. But I will be watching him and the others like a hawk. It is still early and we have a long way to go. Part of me hopes we have yet to see the right person. Maybe someone new will come forward and put the other candidates to shame. I do know America will not survive another democrat.

This might help explain why they say he is for amnesty:

Rubio said that if Obama does executive amnesty and grants amnesty to 10 million or 15 million or eight million or 20 million, whatever it is, whatever the number, if there is an executive amnesty granted to millions and millions of illegals, he said he could not envision a new Republican president being elected and rescinding it. He said (paraphrasing), “Of all the things that you can see down the road in the future, can anybody think that whoever the next Republican president is would alienate, as one of his first acts, as one of his first orders of business as a new president, the rescinding of the executive order granting amnesty and thus citizenship to 10, 15, maybe 20 million people, and deport them?”

He said there’s no way, I don’t care who the next Republican president is, is gonna do that. And, lo and behold, his prediction turns out to have been right on the money, at least up to the present time. Because there’s Obama on the verge of executive amnesty and he’s waiting and waiting and waiting, and he’s gonna wait as long as he can. Rubio was saying the Gang of Eight bill was their effort to get out in front of it, make sure Obama didn’t get away with doing it on the executive amnesty side, and to get Republicans in the game, and you know how it went. It didn’t fly with the Tea Party.

Thanks Workinman. It helps to see the big picture. I had forgotten a lot of this. Probably because I am getting old and decrepit.

Pulfnick-you may be premature on this one. The foreign relations committtee headed by Sen. Corker voted 19 to 0 to require congressional approval of any deal with Iran. They are still working on a framework for a deal but nothing is in final form as yet. If a deal were crafted and it proves to be favorable to the USA the Mullahs will refuse it.
The only way a deal passes in Iran is if Kerry/Obama sell us out and such a deal should not pass in congress. Republicans have 54 seats in the Senate so even if the 2/3 requirement is eliminated they still have the majority. Do you know of any republican in the Senate who favors this deal ? I am not aware of any but could have missed one or two. Lifting the sanctions would be the stupidest thing we could do as they could not be re-imposed without negotiations that would take months if not years. If the republican senate were to allow such an event they will find themselves in the minority in short order. Progress has been made in the Senate now that Harry Reid is no longer the leader. He , however, remains a stumbling block which the republicans will have to endure. Good Luck America !!!
