We all have cow tow at times. This is a world. of give and take. There is no place for a one sided society. Bigots are what they are. It pleases me when that word evokes an angry response. I hit the nerve I was looking for.
When it is inappropriate and out of place, you will always hit a nerve. You refuse to see outside your own little sphere and decide that everything that is not contained within your little sphere is nothing but bigotry, racism and hatred. You think you know those you insult, but you do not even have a clue about yourself.
Just because I do not like some black people, does not mean I do not like all black people. Why does having a problem with some in the black community cause me to be labeled a bigot or a racist?
There are many whites I do not like either. Am I a racist or bigot against whites because I do not like all whites? I do not most of the Liberal agenda, but that does not mean I discard all of it. I do not like most of the Conservative agenda either.
I base my opinion solely on my perceptions, just as you do. If a person, white, black, purple, pink, Latino, Asian, etc, wants to take from me because they BELIEVE they are ENTITLED to it, I am against them regardless of any of the minority or majority designations you want to put on them. If a person wants special treatment because they have a minority label put on them by choice or manner, then I have a problem with them.
If people want equal opportunity, I have no problem with them if they take advantage. If people want equal outcome without working for it, then I have a problem.
My issues with people are not based solely on a minority or majority label or designation, it is based on what they want out of life and what they are willing to do to obtain it.
Someone, I wrongly attributed it to Bojester, posted an article that lauded the achievements of blacks in this country over time. I wish I could find the article, but as I did not respond to it then, but in another thread, I cannot find it myself. What they were attempting to accomplish, I have no idea. What I garnered from the article was that many blacks, despite overwhelming odds against them, many prior to the 1965 Civil Liberties Act, made profound achievements in many fields. They overcame adversities that would today be considered criminal, even by me. Those making those accomplishments did all they did without the help of the Federal government. They did it without Affirmative Action. That only goes to prove that people can achieve their goals without assistance, they just need perseverance.
Today, there are too many people, most in a minority status, who believe they have to rely, or worse yet, are entitled to call, upon the largess of the government, which is the largess of the tax paying people in reality, to help them along the way. The problem with that idea is that many of those do nothing, nor want to do anything, to further their own lives without the government dependence.
Wake up and drink the coffee, not the Kool-Aid, instead of trying to hoard it. The coffee only becomes more and more bitter the more it gets cold and the longer it sits.
