Found a nice piece on the Obama amnesty, and the reasons why some Establishment Republicans seem to roll over for it.
http://unfilteredpatriot.com/follow-the-money-top-immigration-reform-donors/When it comes to gun control, healthcare, welfare, and immigration policy, liberals have been masterful at painting their positions as the morally correct ones. They enjoy, of course, a heaping helping of support from both Hollywood and the mainstream news organizations, all of which are slanted with the same biases. And while I do believe that many Democratic voters college students among the most faithful truly believe in the causes, its time to pull back the curtain on the real power in Liberal Land: money.
On the subject of immigration, the New York Times did a nice piece this weekend pointing out the major donors on the side of increased amnesty. While groups like La Raza and Obama himself argue that amnesty-esque policies are rooted in a greater humanity, the money behind these efforts comes from a less altruistic place. According to the Times, money has been pumped into immigration reform from sources like the Ford Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies, the Carnegie Corporation, and the George Soros-funded Open Society Foundations. Over the last ten years, these organizations have donated more than $300 million to immigrant-rights groups.
Naturally, to run such a story the Times had to spend much of the article making sure the reader knew that these organizations were coming from an apolitical stance. They were interested in philanthropy, and they are driven by a moral compass that stands apart from Washington politics. Its not until nearly the end of the story that we get to hear the other side of that claim. Dan Stein of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which stands against amnesty, said, The whole apparatus has become the handmaiden of the Democratic Party. These foundations fund activist organizations designed to create ethnic identity enclaves and politically control them for partisan purposes.
Ex-actly.
And what is their reason for wanting amnesty? Cheap labor and lots of it. This is also why establishment Republicans fully in bed with corporate interests themselves have done little to stand up to Obamas planned executive action. Instead of insisting that they will use the power of the purse to shut down Obamas schemes, theyve begun talking about lawsuits that will likely never see fruition. Only hardline conservatives like Ted Cruz and Jeff Sessions are willing to put their political careers on the line for the sake of preventing disaster.
Of course, Democrats want amnesty for an entirely different set of reasons. More legal Hispanic voters particularly those who rely on the federal government for monetary support will translate into more Democratic victories. And the increased burden on the welfare state plays into their aims as well, allowing them an unprecedented level of control over the nations citizenry. After all, when you depend on the government to keep you afloat, you arent going to be especially receptive to the conservative message of independence and self-reliance.
I do believe were at a major turning point in American history, and it goes well beyond Obamas specific plans. Will the fight for United States sovereignty and culture win out, or will we concede to being a multicultural, segmented nation driven to the bottom by bleeding hearts and opportunists?
