You demand proof yet think your own misinformed opinion is sufficient. No hubris in your family; you have it all.

As for the Federal laws Biden has ignored or violated.....
That would be 8 USC 1324 &1325 for starters.

You told another poster to man up. You might consider doing the same in regards to proving up, rather than offering your frequently incorrect opinions as fact.

He didn’t post anything new but repackaged what others have said.

Franklin was referring to direct democracy, which is not the form of democracy that most countries use today. It's a cute quote and it's fun to watch people taking it so seriously.

Obviously the answer is to have a law that says wolves can't eat lambs for dinner. Pretty simple. This is exactly why we have a constitution. A majority can vote to silence the opposition for instance but the Constitution says the opposition has a right to free speech, so the vote becomes symbolic at best.

You're just wrong.

LOL... What makes you think just because they boarded without ID, they weren't actually asked for it?

Ask till hell freezes over, If I don't have ID, I don't board unless they can confirm who I am by pulling up ID. And this is considered "a courtesy", they would not hold up the plane for me to do it. I'm not going to argue with you, fact is if this happened under a Republican President you'd be burning buildings and howling at the moon!

Eagle Pass, Texas.

I'll give it to you that you can pull the wordy wordsmith garbage, and make a decent argument sometimes.

But, in the case of the border, you're either stupid, a liar, or a schill for the invasion of My country.

You're an immigrant?
Are you a citizen?
Where did you come from?
How did you get here?
What is your native nationality?

Like I said, you provide decent arguments; but the self righteous, condescending, narcissistic gaslighting gives you away.

I'm so proud of Gov Abbot who continues to defend his state border against invasion despite the court ruling. He should fight, fight, fight. Get up in their faces and tell them they're not wanted here "you know like Maxine Waters did to American citizens"?

And they let you in?

Yeah, they're different alright, the Rio Grande is where you folks who don't want immigrants coming in can see how desperate they are to find safety in the U.S. so you put up walls and razor wire to keep them out without even noticing that most of the immigrants are coming in through ports of entry.

So I'm trying to figure this out... Are you folks just sadistic or just really stupid?

So, I'm going to use this "I can't dispute his points so I'll just insult him" tirade as as an example of what I am talking about when I say the inability for people to compromise is the real threat to democracy.

You made sure to emphasize that this is YOUR country. Fact is... you don't own it. You share it with 350 million people, most of whom disagree with you. But you dismiss their opinions and whatever facts they present and accuse them of being a "schill" for the "invasion" of YOUR country. A perfect example of self-righteousness if there ever was one but more than that, it exemplifies this uncompromising attitude that it's your way or nothing.

archie bunker wrote:

LOL - Who the **** are you? Mr. Authority? Are you gonna deport me?

Not that it's any of your business but yes, I'm an immigrant... Yes, I'm a citizen... I came from the UK with my parents when I was 2 years old, We arrived on a plane and my nationalities are British and American. As for which one is my "native" nationality, I couldn't really tell you. First of all, there's no such official status and secondly, I was only in the UK for the first two years of my childhood, I basically grew up in California so, I feel more American than British.

This is why I sympathize with those people protected by DACA. I was in fact a childhood arrival, who had no choice in the matter. The difference is that we came in legally, but if we didn't, there wouldn't be anything I could have done about it. I was a baby. I went where my parents went. Since then, I went to school, got a degree, got a career, got married and raised a family of four. I probably paid more taxes than you have over the years. If my parents DID come here illegally, it would not have been MY fault but I would be threatened with deportation anyway, which means I would have to leave my kids, my job, my wife and move to a country I barely know. All because some people with a say in the government are inconsiderate bigots.

My background might also explain my opinion on keeping immigrants out in general. My father was an aerospace engineer who was invited to the U.S. because the space program needed talent and had to look to Europe to find it. We were actually invited to this country. Almost all my friends growing up were either immigrants or first generation Americans because the aerospace companies in the area were so dependent on engineers from Europe. That was the 60s. Today, I am a software engineer surrounded by Asians because that's where the U.S. high-tech industry get's most of it's talent.

So the message here is that the U.S. NEEDS immigrants. All those F-16s, iPhones, spacecraft... All those things we call American ingenuity... all those things that make the US military more effective and powerful are in large part invented and designed by immigrants.

The alternative would be to invest more in public education so we can develop a large enough talent pool of our own to support our industries. Several administrations have made attempts but what they can squeak in without too much notice on omnibus tickets is never enough to bring it up to European or Asian standards. So there will always be an influx of engineers, scientists and doctors from Europe and Asia.

This is why people are leaving California, btw... It's the part that right-wing media omits... Californians are being displaced by people coming in from Europe and Asia. These immigrants are getting the top-dollar salaries and inflating property values. It's called gentrification. The displaced people are saying it's government policy.., yada-yada-yada, because they can't own up the the fact that they just can't afford to live there anymore.

It's not like we don't have natural talent. We do. It's just that we don't invest in public education. We are the nation with the third largest population... if we provided all of them with free education, like they do in Europe and Asia, it stands to reason that we would have a healthier pool of usable talent. But the private sector filters out all the undiscovered talent that don't have the money. There's a LOT of blue-collar technicians in America that have the talent to be scientists if they could afford the privilege.

Still... the same political factions that want to keep immigrants out also don't want to invest in public education.

Well, like I said... three weeks ago I did exactly that. So excuse me while I turn aside a laugh--cough!

They weren't going to hold up the plane for me either. I knew I didn't have my ID so I got to the airport 3 hours early. A lot of those immigrants are there 3 months early...

Same old arguments... this is why Republicans don't sponsor bills for public education, so people can't watch a video like this and see the fallacies popping out like spores. LOL

Feel free to point out something specific, otherwise read the thread.

I've been reading your bloviating (as much as I can stand) but it comes down to your support for breaking the law. When someone comes across the border without regard for the law, they are here illegally. I don't understand what you don't understand.

Glibness is not nearly as indicative of IQ as say, the ability to make a pun. Neither is the ability to regurgitate Marxist dogma. We are being invaded and we can't afford to add the population of Toledo every month. Do you want to add the population of every country with a thuggish government into the US in perpetuity? It's as pointless as your arguments.

https://youtu.be/l6tSqGCfoCI?si=9LdypI9FV_hb5XsN

Try this on for size.

P.S. They're the same old arguments because they're true. You just refuse to believe them.

They aren't immigrants. Immigrants apply in advance for admission into a country. I have 4 family members who are immigrants. Illegals push their way into the country under the invitation of your Dick-tater Biden. Notice that the people it is hurting the most is the neediest of Americans, Biden's policy is "no big deal-I'll going to show them and cancel previous policy because it was under Trump, didn't matter that it was working". Incontinent Biden, oops meant to say incompetent!

Then quit insulting people, and whining when you get a dose of your own medicine.

Being a software engineer makes you no better than the person who picks up your garbage. In spite of what you think.

But, hold your head high there, Skippy. You're better, and smarter than EVERYONE. In your own mind................

Well, Biden and Speaker Johnson came up with an immigration bill that was called, by Republican Senators, as being very tough. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that trump and maga will stop it from passing. Then I guess you can blame trump and maga for the border problem.
