Well, that fire is extinguished now.....

The New Mexico green chilies have been a staple here for most of my life.

Iโ€™ve never seen that show but I have lived in Texas. Best chili I ever had was at a cookoff there.

It really is a pretty funny show.

This may be a very risky road to travel. I personally prefer both kinds of chili with beans and w/o. My mom was a cook at a truck stop in my hometown and they daily made both kinds of chili and it was always popular.(Harlingen TX in the RGV) I have also had different game chili, venison and even rattlesnake with both beans and no beans. We have chili a lot in cold weather and it's usually with beans. I do however totally Agree with your Assessment of Austin as any Good Loyal Aggie and 12thMan Member should.

Thereโ€™s a tipping point with the hot stuff - I like spicy but not to the point where you canโ€™t taste the food

We're a little bigger n yall, and Austin is just the little blue nut sack that hangs from the belly of the beast we call Texas!

Didja hear about the battle on the Red River between the Texans, and Okies?
The Okies were throwing dynamite across the river at the Texans, so, the Texans picked it up, lit it, and threw it back.๐Ÿ˜…

I heard about the okie girl standing on the bank of the river and hollers at the texas girl on the other side, asking how to get to the other side of the river. To which the Texan yelled back โ€œ youโ€™re already on the other side of the riverโ€!

I have been using the recipe that was on the back of Durkee's chili powder since before Mexican restaurants became common throughout America. Yes, it contained beans. In the past ten years I have been using black beans over red kidney beans.

I do like beans in chili but real chili does not have beans.

I'm with you and Arch, Rose. Real chili does not have beans in it.

I make my chili with venison and beef with lots of extra heat via onions and jalapenos

In Cincinnati, they put cinnamon in their chili and serve it over spaghetti.
