Actually is does, but since the big bang was an expansion OF space-time, rather than an expansion INTO space OVER time (ie. explosion), it is very easy to feel uncomfortable with the concept and thus dismiss it. Most people, including scientists, have similar problems with the time elasticity of relativity (ex. twin paradox), the particle/wave duality of light (ex. dual slit experiment), the infinite density of a black hole singularity, the indistinctness of a wave function (ex. Schrodinger's cat). quantum entanglement ("Spooky action at a distance" - A. Einstein) and other similar well documented phenomenon.

I have a suggestion for you.

Why don't you gather a consortium of the greatest scientists in the world and let them employ their collective brilliance and technology to accomplish this simple project:

Create an AMOEBA, the simplest life form on this planet.
A SINGLE LIVING CELL.

You know where to put your big bang theory.
Really....

Where?
The Big Bang is not a theory.
Edwin Hubble proved that.

I was commenting on the insistence of some that do not believe in creation theory but are "all in" believing in some other more "scientific" theory.

I don't understand your criticism.

Actually the viruses are the simplest type of life, depending on how you actually want to define life?

OK smarty pants, so let's see the greatest scientists get together and create a vi...

uh, wait....I guess they did that in China a few years ago...

If I may point out, the big bang theory is a theory. A theory is an EXPLANATION of why things appear the way the do. A theory can range from a very strong well supported explanation that covers a a large variety of facts in many disciplines and makes validated predictions (ex. plate tectonics) to little more than a plausabiltiy based on very limited observations or calculations (ex. super string theory). As new information is gathered the theory is supported, modified or discarded. Unfortunately in common parlance, "theory" is often taken to mean little more than a wild guess or hoped for situation.

My point is that some of us believe that humans were CREATED via the intelligent design of a higher power (God) and some of us want to believe that this SUPER complex system known as humans was actually the result of RANDOM events precipitated by an unexplained event (i.e. Big Bang).

I believe the random event theory is simply preposterous and have trouble understanding how it gains any traction with intelligent humans whatsoever.

I also resent the fact that these same theorists ask you to believe that we are somehow descendants of amoebas.

I can't imagine anything more absurd.
