My home state, born in St Petersburg. Miss it, but right now home, and interest rates too high, maybe next year, I can move home. Still have lots of family there. My dad’s oldest brother was a Florida Historian, lived in Ft Myers, had a column weekly in the Ft Myers Press. He was called Frog Smith, real name Earnest Smith.
He started oil painting in his 80’s, was born in 1896, so had lots of knowledge of early Florida history.
He was a lot older than my dad. You can Google him, lots of interesting facts on early Florida.
Miss my state, and my beaches, and guava jelly.
