I'm for guns, Oakland California 1976 my fathers apartment was invaded, had his gun been impacted he says he would have the time to retrieve it and defend. Instead he was tied to a chair. They demanded he sign several checks, after cleaning out his wallet. He could hear the two men arguing from the other room, one wanting to kill me, the other not. Tied to his chair he managed to throw himself out the two story window to the parking lot below, not having his feet bound. While in the hospital, he was guarded by police, after the nurse recieved suspicious phone calls, and sure enough the men were captured at the hospital, with intent to kill there witness.
White river camp ground Mt Rainier, Washington. 1985 while camping with my wife and two children. My wife went for a walk with the kids, while I was cooking dinner (my famous camping stew), I heard a scream, it was my wife, she had stumble into an opening with the kids, and a dead woman lying on the ground, running back to the campground, they were being followed by a man. I met them about 50 yards from our camp ground, she explained what she saw, and I could see a man approaching from about 30 yards back. I threw everyone in the truck and took off, as I hit the gas pedal, the man was only about 20 feet away. Later we discovered it was the green river killer. Had I been armed, I would have sent my family on there way, and help Ridgway for the police, there were several murders after the fact.
