Bill - Regarding your reply - Here's a more comprehensive explanation of the release of those 68,000 illegals from prison - INTO OUR POPULATION!! I noticed that your accusation that it was Obama and his Administration who were responsible for the releases, was challenged. Here's some proof via a report from ICE that what you posted WAS THE TRUTH!!
The Center for Immigration Studies has produced a new report, in which Director of Policy Studies Jessica Vaughn claims that the Obama administration has released nearly 68,000 violent, criminal, illegal aliens in 2013, who have been convicted crimes in the United States. The administration didn't release them and deport them. Rather, they released these criminals INTO AMERICAN SOCIETY.
"In 2013, ICE reported 722,000 encounters with potentially deportable aliens, most of whom came to their attention after incarceration for a local arrest. Yet ICE officials followed through with immigration charges for only 195,000 of these aliens, only about one-fourth. According to ICE personnel, the vast majority of these releases occurred because of current policies that shield most illegal aliens from enforcement, not because the aliens turned out to have legal status or were qualified to stay in the United States. Many of the aliens ignored by ICE were convicted criminals.
In 2013, ICE agents released 68,000 aliens with criminal convictions, or 35 percent of all criminal aliens they reported encountering.
According to the report, Atlanta tops the list in numbers of illegal criminal aliens for 2013 with a grand total of 67,879, which is 35% of all criminal releases for that year.
However, when it comes to percentages, guess who is at the top: Washington, D.C. and Detroit. Of all the total criminal releases from prison, 64% were criminally convicted illegal aliens in Washington, D. C., and 65% of those released in Detroit were criminal illegal aliens.
ICE reports that there are more than 870,000 aliens on its docket who have been ordered removed, but who remain in defiance of the law.
Under current policies, an alien's family relationships, political considerations, attention from advocacy groups, and other factors not related to public safety can trump even serious criminal convictions and result in the termination of a deportation case.
Less than 2 percent of ICE's caseload was in detention at the end of fiscal year 2013.
About three-fourths of the aliens ICE detained in 2013 had criminal and/or immigration convictions so serious that the detention was required by statute.
Sealing the border is our first priority if we are going to have any form of security, but we must also take time to concentrate on the inside of the country. Why we are not deporting criminals when we have them in custody is beyond me. It makes you wonder just how many millions of illegals are here that also need to be deported. Unfortunately, people have elected a lawless man to office, whose job is to enforce the very laws he is encouraging foreign aliens to break.
