Hogwash ! Everyone has the power in themselves to control the urges of nature it's just that they chose not to !

So I guess if you have the urge to pop your neighbors wife she's going to get popped no if's ands or butts about !

If you had read a bit closer you would have seen that I said one (we) has little control over other peoples urges.

Most of the discussion has revolved around Christian beliefs. What if the woman is not Christian? Do we hold her to the rules of a church she does not believe in?

Government can not legislate morality. It never works and the only result is to force law abiding citizens to break the law.

Abortion is a medical decision between the woman and her doctor. No one else should be involved.

I have to agree with your statement.

"Abortion is a medical decision between the woman and her doctor. No one else should be involved.'

The increasingly sociopathic United States. None of your citizens are worth it. Give em a little entertainment and their brains shut off. The dumbest "free" people on earth or who have ever been.

So, what you're really saying is that you're not interested in knowing what Jesus taught, you're only interested in knowing what somebody else claims that Jesus taught, after certain parts were removed?

Look up the history of the King James version sometime.

I'm saying no such thing and you have no idea what I'm interested in knowing !

I do have a personal relationship with Jesus since my sins are covered by his blood shed on the cross and I've learned and still learning from him .

How about you do you have a personal relationship with him ???

And how could one forget:

There was a rich old king
Who had a thousand men.
He marched them up a very high hill
and marched them down again.
Now when you're up you're up,
and when you're down your're down,
and when you're only halfway up you're neither up or down.

WTF? Makes sense, somehow, maybe?

No you are only halfway to the way you are going.

If you stay half way you are neither up or down a that point in time..

Hi, Floyd Brown,
So sorry for you to meet me at this point when I am so distraught and uncivil. Hope to see you again under better auspices.
I'm gonna mosey on down to the bar and order a bucket of Lone Stars and see if I can get lucky tonight.
PEACE

You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roe_v._Wade

Wikipedia has all the details, but here's the summary:

Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. Decided simultaneously with a companion case, Doe v. Bolton, the Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman's decision to have an abortion, but that right must be balanced against the state's two legitimate interests in regulating abortions: protecting prenatal life and protecting women's health. Arguing that these state interests became stronger over the course of a pregnancy, the Court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the trimester of pregnancy.

The Court later rejected Roe's trimester framework, while affirming Roe's central holding that a person has a right to abortion until viability.[1] The Roe decision defined "viable" as being "potentially able to live outside the mother's womb, albeit with artificial aid", adding that viability "is usually placed at about seven months (28 weeks) but may occur earlier, even at 24 weeks."[2]

In disallowing many state and federal restrictions on abortion in the United States,[3][4] Roe v. Wade prompted a national debate that continues today about issues including whether, and to what extent, abortion should be legal, who should decide the legality of abortion, what methods the Supreme Court should use in constitutional adjudication, and what the role should be of religious and moral views in the political sphere. Roe v. Wade reshaped national politics, dividing much of the United States into pro-choice and pro-life camps, while activating grassroots movements on both sides.

King James version vs. NIV

Sorry, I thought "you and your friends" was another reference where Jesus called all His followers friends.

The King James says the same thing but the language makes it less clear:
22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.

23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Verses 23 -25 are still connected just not as easily read as the NIV. Quick note, many people including myself don't care for the NIV because of certain changes, but I find it the easiest to understand.
Have a good evening and thanks again for taking the time to clarify.

Good luck in your ventures and I hope your neighborhood is still safe enough for a lady to "walk down to the bar" at night.

Interesting... times have changed, medicine has moved on, but the abortion remains the same. If "viability" is the legally determining factor, then it would have to be stopped sooner. My twin nieces were born just over a year ago at 20 weeks, weighing just over a pound each. They were in the NICU for months, but no extreme measures ever had to be taken to keep them alive. Just thinking out loud, not trying to start anything today.

Actually they are virtually virtuous. If you expect to get lucky, you should change venues. Seems to me.
