"his fawning admirers want a slice of the proverbial pie even if it comes at someone else’s expense."
I had to shake my head at this comment when I read it, isn't this what 'welfare' is all about?? everyone wanting a piece of the proverbial pie even if it comes at someone else's expense??
"The Trump family has become to America what the Kim family is to North Korea. The Dear Leader will not be questioned. The Dear Leader becomes a symbol for the nation itself, a symbol for a state religion that captures minds and hearts even as stomachs rumble with hunger."
And then this comment, again shaking my head, as I know MANY people who question various things he says and even does or even people he has appointed to certain positions--as I seen that worship of the Obama's way more than I see of Trump or his family, even now if someone questions something Obama did they are cast out like the trash. I have yet to see ANY conservative do ANYTHING remotely like this: Talk about a religious cult???

we could certainly change this:
"The Obama phenomenon fits into the picture of a new religious movement (or cult—the lines are not tightly drawn) in that it gives purpose and meaning to its adherents, it promises a period of peace and prosperity after a time of confrontation, and it portrays itself as an oppressed minority under the dominion of sinister outside forces. Evangelicalism, in particular, thrives upon the sense that its followers are victims of a godless society bent upon persecuting believers
(see Christian Smith’s now classic Evangelicalism: Embattled and Thriving). Obama has been able to dispense with some of the pieties of evangelicalism while capitalizing on its victim stance. Obama followers are often aggressive and belligerent, and yet they still seem to be able to see themselves as victims of the biased media, corrupt politicians, and White America. The fact that they won the election has not changed this dynamic, since it is a core part of their identity as persecuted true believers.
The disturbing part about the religious narrative now interacting with American politics is that the next logical phase in the evangelical story is one of an end-times cosmic battle. The Dear Leader/Savior Figure must now battle the Forces of Darkness, which, in this case, means that Obama must defeat Conservative (republic) or die trying. Now cult figures do not usually succeed in their objectives—they usually leave themselves some sort of “out clause.” For Jim Jones, the “out clause” was spectacular violence. For “Moses” David Berg of The Family International / Children of God, the “out clause” was simply to blame the Whore of Babylon (i.e. the rest of society) for the implosion of his “kingdom” under a wave of sexual abuse allegations. But Obama will have something these other cult leaders did not have: access to the full resources, both public and covert, of the United States Government." (and Obama used those things)..
And the rest of the article is BS, so what if the man passes his business empire down to his family?? Isn't that what most businessmen do, if they can?? And there has NEVER been anything wrong w/ that (but it's Trump)...Even Obama is building his own empire to leave to his own children, granted it doesn't depend on building or creating ANYTHING a person can actually use or live in--they merely take in donations..(much like the religious cult leader's mentioned above receiving donations from their followers). Trump and His family at least have a product (apartment buildings, golf courses, office buildings, clothes that others can utilize and live in, or even wear).
The article is actually rather funny, because everything he describes of Trump fits Obama and Hillary..well, except that they don't have an actual Business empire to pass down to their own children.
