I guess it's time to congratulate you conservatives. You've accomplished some major wins. I may disagree with how you accomplished it, but you are winning. The country is definitely tilting to the right. The ship of state has taken a list to starboard, and I can't deny that.

You've won the battle.

There are a whole lot of new federal judges that will force conservative decisions for the next few decades.

You've destroyed the federal civil service requirements and allow cronyism to sneak back into the government workplace.

You've eliminated a raft of environmental regulations that mainly affect poor and minority communities.

The federal lands are now open to the 'thumper trucks' which search for oil.

The poultry and beef processing industry is having trouble finding enough people to work in the gruesome slaughterhouses that provide our steaks and rotisserie chicken.

Our water supplies are no longer being tested for harmful chemicals.

Employees of major corporations no longer have the ability to band together in class action lawsuits. Instead, they have to resort to private arbitration on a one-to-one basis which most cannot afford to do because of high legal fees.

Respect for the Department of Justice and the FBI has been eroded, which makes it more difficult for them to do their jobs and get cooperation from the population.

You've defanged the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which was showing signs of actually holding companies accountable when they committed fraud against their customers.

China and Russia are doing major deals with the rest of the world that we've retreated from. China is estimated to be ahead of in Artificial Intelligence within a decade, and their companies are quietly acquiring American firms. And to do business in China, our companies have to partner with a Chinese firm, which mandates intellectual property transfers and eliminates our technological edge.

Yep, you're winning. You're accomplishing the decline of the United States as a world power. We've alienated our European allies and degraded the relations with our Asian partners.

You're achieving your goal of taking the country back to the late nineteenth century, which was isolationist, racist, homophobic, mysogenistic, religiously bigoted and the realm of the big industrialists (the Robber Barons.) A truly worthy goal, if you don't know what life back then was like.

I wish you well. I'm old enough that I probably won't see the end result of all this. I'm glad of that, but I fear for the younger generations and the quality of life that they will inherit.

Congratulations, you've won the present battle. But long term, you've lost the war, and our country is much the worse for that. If you prevail, that great experiment called democracy will fail.

Being a libertarian, I would agree with you if it were not for one thing. All the items posted above are facts. If I wanted to take the time, I could quote you chapter and verse on each one. But you already know that they're true. You've read or heard about each and every one.

As to the projection, would you please explain how you can draw any other conclusion than the one that I have come to? We're becoming a nation of oligarchs with more hatred and division than I've seen in my lifetime. The average working peon finds themselves with no major increases in wages and a decrease in their rights to have a decent workplace. The giant tax cut is fueling in a major way the stock buybacks that we're seeing while wages are increasing minimally or not at all. Corporate expansion is happening for very few companies, while the stockholders get much richer. Consumers are getting the short end of the stick, particularly in regards to getting screwed by the payday lenders, and the CFPB has ceased their actions in that segment of the financial community. The increase in the national debt (by six TRILLION dollars) caused by the tax cut will result in one of two things: either a huge increase in taxes for everyone along with a decrease of services from the government, or the devaluation of the dollar, resulting in super-inflation. Either way it's a major depression or recession when it hits. How do we avoid this?
Given all this, what other projection can we draw? Exactly what does the average John or Jane Doe have to look forward to in the next thirty years? Since you're an intelligent consumer of news and opinion, I'd be interested to see what you can come up with to counter my projections. I'd love to hear your alternate reality to these facts and their eventual conclusion. But please use facts and logic rather than bluster and hyperbole. Have at it ...

What would your winning have accomplished? Turning our nation over to the UN and EU and starting WWIII. You sick puppies even had our plastic coffins picked out. I truly admire your adherence to your Biblical precepts although I cannot go down that path with you. And aside from Biblical teachings, there is no evidence to say that we are or are not the only blue planet, or that evolution is a lie. As to your reference to 'unity' and a lack of diversity, I respectfully disagree. Total adherence to an ideology with zero tolerance for dissent is a recipe for disaster. Nazi Germany is a prime example. You are absolutely free to espouse your views ... that is one of the great things about our country. But we are a nation of majority rule and the rule of law (however distant that concept may be at this period of time). You are entitled to your own opinions, and I hope they are proven true within your own existence. My reality is different but it is just as valid for me as that which you propose is for you. Any downward trend in that respect has already been accomplished before Mr Trump came on the scene. You can pick out the negatives of any policy if you look hard enough. I think one major difference in your list and mine is that I tend to look at the half-full glass of water and not the half-empty. As I said previously, viewpoint is paramount. You've managed to leave out the fact that the MSM, our watchdogs for so many decades has hidden any hint of positive movements by the Trump administration. I can't wait to see how the new approach plays out and I predict it won't be to the detriment of the US.

You are in the forming and some storming or first/second stage.
