So now you are for subsidizing insurance companies? Guess you missed the whole subsidies procured like they were was Unconstitutional.

Medical cost are high & as far as insurance companies go. The feeling is the higher cost the better because the more money passing through their hands the more they can put in their pocket.

The profit motive in the health care arena is to get as much as they can get it .
Seeing this. I said if they can't get what they want from the government they will just raise the cost from who ever buys their insurance.
PAY MORE OR GET LESS SERVICE!

It can not be predicted as to just when it will happen but single payer health care will happen in this country one day.
Using peoples health issues for a profit just don't sit well with most people. It will never be cheap.
We will learn to live with what ever happens good or bad.

We can always learn to take better care of our self health wise. I just got my first primary Doctor.
I have had no shortage of aches & pains. At 80 I can still do most of the things I need to do.

You get your self moving & know when to take a break.
There is a range of discomfort & one need not dwell on it to make it worse.
My feeling is that I can live with out most of what is provided. l

I agree with much of what you say. There is truly only a couple of ways to lower costs. One is the old fashioned way. Competition. For that to work however; you’d need to put the very sick and those with pre-existing conditions in their own high risk state pool. Ability to pay based on income. Those that need subsidized would be subsidized with a special state tax. I don’t personally care if it’s half a percent or 3 percent. No one should go without healthcare. This would lower the cost dramatically for those who would then shop on the open market. Why should I a 62 year old that runs 4 to 5 miles a day and works out six days a week pay for my insurance plan and the 100 lb overweight guy down the street that smokes 3 packs a day? Single payer in a country the size of the US will be disaster for seniors in my opinion. There is no doubt there would be rationing and a shortage of doctors. Expense will be out of site and no doubt the program would be poorly managed. Like every other large govt program.

A Nation if it is to survive for any real length of time needs to be founded with at least some basis of providing to the needs of most.

In a Nation where gains in comfort & security are made the system that is best for the most is to be the goal.

The whole idea about professionalism is controlling the entry of people & the standards of the profession.

That is good reason for doing that.
The bad part is that it will not promote competition.
Control over who becomes a Doctor is controlled in the most part by the Profession

They answer to the profesion first & to the Public next.
This is common practice in most professions.

But when it comes to individuals having a say in what they want to say or do on the issue of a Union is looked down on as being bad for the country.
Study the history on that issue if you would.

The little person down on the street has never had much say as to what ever takes place in any truly meaningful way,

Through out history it has been the FEW that have had the most impact on the out come of almost all issues good or bad.
It was the personal interests of the FEW that carried the most influence.

If it has been the Left that has had the greatest impact why has the money & wealth ended up in so FEW pockets.
Money some of which was at one time in your hands?

I will be back in the morning for another round.

Please don't. Using all caps actually makes it harder to read for people who read your posts. If all caps were easier, then all newspapers and books would have been all caps. But of course that's not the case. A lot of studies have been done, and the way we normally print is the most comfortable way for reading.

Instead, please use the zoom feature of your browser. Ctrl + mouse wheel to make the font size larger.
My eyesight isn't too great either. And so I always increase the font size so that reading doesn't turn into struggle.

Typing is easier too because when you use browser's zoom the font of the text boxes increases too. So you see larger letters when typing posts not just when reading.

Modern browsers even remember the zoom settings for each site you visit. So you usually only need to set it once for OPP and the browser will keep it that way.

The only exception on caps that I ever gave on any of my forums was for a guy who has one arm. It was physically impossible for him to push shift and some letter at the same time.

But eyesight is not an excuse for caps because it makes it more difficult for other people to scan your text. Especially for those whose eyesight also isn't perfect. So using all caps isn't really a solution. It actually makes it worse for everyone.

Please try the zoom feature of your browser. It really works and makes it a lot easier to read.

I agree. Not for sissies.

I have broken 11 bones, including my back twice. I have had a heart attack, two heart surgeries, two back surgeries and shoulder surgery which left me without full use of my right arm. I have constant back pain and a gimpy leg, and a receding hairline, but in my mid sixties, a few months ago at the doctor's office I could still read the 20/15 line on the eye chart. Read part of the 20/10.

THANK YOU ALL FOR PUTING UP WITH MY CAPS.
I HAVE WRITTEN MANY THINGS
MOSTLY FOR MY 9 KIDS
TO HELP THEM UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON IN DC
FROM A CHRISTIAN, ORIGINALIST LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT PERSPECTIVE.
THE POLITIANS & MEDIA ARE NOT TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHY THEY ARE DOING WHAT THEY DO.
BUT FROM TIME TO TIME THEIR SLIP SHOWS,
ALSO I REMEMBER WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE THEY STARTED TO IGNORE THE CONSTITUTION.
MY GRAND FATHER & FATHER SPENT HOURS TELLING ME WHAT OUR SOCIETY LIKE IN THEIR DAY.

It is funny how the profit motive works everywhere except for health insurance. Farmers charge as much as they can for growing our food and yet they can barely make a living and we are not starving because we cannot afford to buy food. How about single payer for food ? The automobile companies charge as much as they can and yet, most of us can afford to drive. How about single payer for cars ? Home builders charge as much as they can for their homes and yet somehow most of us own our homes. I don't get it. How is it possible ? How about single payer for buying a home ? The cell phone companies surely charge as much as they can, and yet the poorest of the poor somehow manage to have the latest smart phone. How about single payer for cell phones. Ohh wait, I forgot Obama phones for deadbeats.

Now the Democrats want Trump to bail out the evil health insurance companies who are losing their shirts under Obamacare. I say the heck with those insurance companies. Left em lose their shirts. Obama meant to put them out of business. So why are Democrats begging Trump to save them ?
