Yeah, you see, when they say they are disgusted with you, then then go to another room and smile where you can't see it. They do the same thing to me.

Since I escaped with my life with "Linda Joy goes to the veterinary"

Kankune sat at the breakfast table with her husband, listening to the news.
Then"Breaking News"was announced
"A blizzard will hit our city in the next 10 hours. We expect 8 to 10 inches of snow.
Please park your car on the left hand side of the street,so our snow plows can clear lanes for traffic"
Kan immediately rushed out and parked her car on the left side of the street.
Two weeks later another breakfast and another "Breaking News"
"We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow, please park your cars on the right side of the street,so our snow-plows can clear a lane for traffic"
Kan immediately runs out and parks her car on the right side of the street.

3 weeks later
"Breaking News"
"We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow. Please park your cars on the---
just then the power fails
Kan says"Oh,my gosh,what am I gonna do?
I don't know which side of the street to park on!!
Kan's husband then said "why not just leave it in the garage ,this time?
Since I escaped with my life with "Linda Joy ... (show quote)

Is that sexist, or what?

Like the blonde using white-out on the computer monitor?

Can't have you thinking that anyone would dismiss a sailor, especially, since I was married to one for years - and he had your first name - so I'd call him a goodbobby. Here's a poem which, hopefully, doesn't leave any service man out. I really do love all you guys!! I haven't forgotten the women in service (God Bless Them, Too) but this is, satirically, just for the guys.

OUR GUYS IN THE MILITARY

I love the guys in the military
The guys who fly and sail the sea
The guys who tread on desert sands
The guys with Carbines in their hands
Pilots flying helicopters and jets
The Infantry dealing with terrorist threats
The Sailor confronting uncertainty
From foreign vessels sailing the seas
Yes, all of these men have stood the test
Of facing their fears, and doing their best
Bravely accomplishing whate'er was needed
Each mission attempted, they succeeded
They stood taller, determined, prouder still
Of their country, training, and superior skill
Their faces shining for a job well done
For protecting the freedoms they had won
With spirit, conviction, honor and pride
With patriotism alight in their eyes
THEY ALL LOOK SO HANDSOME, sexy and strong
American Heroes - Got It Going On!!

Thanks for the praise of our Veterans on the forum. BadBobby, to my knowledge, is the senior Squid on deck. I believe a long since heard from poster named Marvin Sussman was probably the senior Dog-Face. PoppaGringo, aka 'Salty' is likely the senior Marine. I can't with any certainty speak as to who the senior FlyBoy is...or, any Coast Guarders who may be on board.

We enjoy engaging in friendly inter-service rivalries. It is clearly understood that Marines rate highest. I coincidentally, am one.

Marines rate highest?! And you are "COINCIDENTALLY" one?? Gee, How come I could have guessed that one?? (LOL) I will say one thing. They do have the best looking dress uniforms. The avatar I use pictures the "Hazelwood," which is the destroyer my husband was aboard. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Never realized how close we were to war during that crisis. He passed five years ago, but I'll miss him till the day I join him. He was such a great guy.

Kudos on your service, slatten. I keep watching those welcome home videos, where the soldiers surprise their families from an early return. I just want to hug all of them. When I think of what they go through, and what the families go through, it breaks my heart. I guess that's why, in my whole life, I have never hated anyone, but Hillary. Every time I think about Benghazi, how she spoke to the families of the victims, and how reckless she was with those emails, placing our military at even more risk, and that she is a mother, I can't come to terms with it. Oh well, at least she's not President. God Bless.

Hey Slat, I'm a 60 yr old anchor clanker. And though I personally believe that the Coast Guard is the ULTIMATE service, I'll give you Jarheads plenty of credit.

Thank you, kankune. Poetry is one of the things I enjoy doing - along with scrapbooking (am now making a tribute album for my honey), and singing (used to do it professionally, in the day). Your post made my day. It's such a nice feeling to know someone enjoys my creative side. Thank you for your kindness. (Grace)

My pleasure Grace. We poets have to stick together. I love to write poetry too.

Over the years, the US Coast Guard has become increasingly impressive in my mind. I would highly recommend them as a branch to enlist in, but my understanding is that it has become incredibly difficult to join.
