Willy, I believe you to be spot-on with this and your previous comments regarding Saltwind 78. I agree wholeheartedly, thinking well of the man and to his honestly and sincerity...despite any differences we may have. There is no 'stolen honor' within him. I do not doubt his military service during the Viet Nam conflict. I would have been proud to have had him by my side in that war.

I do not include these liberal loons in my claim of biggest ass.......I cannot compete with people who were hatched as assholes....I had to train for a few years to get where I am at

Yep. No question; you are at best a talented amateur. I wonder who is considered the first most racist poster on here?

The bottom line is that this is not the USA of our past. Our moral values have forever changed for the worst. Our sense of honesty and fair play has been having been lowered to the point of anything goes and so it goes with our respect for our country which has been diminished by a leftward education system from grade one through the college years. As a result, our younger generation is what it is as reflected by the likes of some of the posts we see. When I was in the Army I was stationed 200 miles from home and from time to time I made the trip to visit my parents in my 51 $70.00 Packard. On one of my visits, my father commented on how bad things have gotten as a nation. This was in 1958. I as many others feel as there is no turning back to the days of sanity. Now sixty years later I am pushing eighty and reflecting on the past and thankful for better times past.

Matt. 6:6- when you pray go into your closet. Pray to GOD in secret and he will bless you openly. That is wisdom, and is exactly the way GOD wants it done. Rebels refuse to do it the way the creator wants it done, and then they expect GOD to reward their rebellion. He will not reward them, but he will rebuke them . The "nfl" is destroying itself; those boys have no idea why they do what they do. They disrespected their parents growing up and anyone else who tried to correct them. Rebellion to authority is all they know. You reap what you sow, and they are about to get a lesson in reality.

I too am a US Navy combat veteran that has fought and bled for this country. I am saddened by how many took Kaepernick's right to peaceful protest and have turned it into "hate for our flag and country." Kaepernick expressly stated that he was protesting "the racist lyrics in the 3rd and 4th verses of the National Anthem and the continued police brutality against minorities." Not once did he ever say that he was 'protesting the flag or the country.' What gets me is that the same people who slam and blast those protesting over look two important things: 1) many of us who served in the military honor and respect a citizen's right to peaceful protest -that's why we fight - to preserve our rights -even the right to disagree, and 2) none of those same people would expect a Jewish person to salute the Nazi national anthem and they are not asked to. Most Americans have never even read the 3rd and 4th verses to know that there are in fact racist lyrics in the anthem. One possible solution would be for America to finally recognize and acknowledge that we do in fact have a very racist (pro-white, pro-money) history and come together to determine how to eliminate outward racial hostility and move forward - Congress could enact a law that officially strikes the 3rd and 4th verses from the anthem (<without those two verses it is still one of the most beautifully written and inspirational songs ever written), OR, we could simply adopt a new anthem (say like "America the Beautiful") that has no racist lyrics. For those who wish to counter-protest by destroying their NFL gear, I say: please send me your season tickets. As I said, I have been blessed to travel extensively both here and abroad. I have experienced and witnessed racism right in my face both here and abroad. But honestly, I have never once been attacked, spat upon, beaten, or racially insulted by a football. Not. Once. Ever.

It is not the kneeling - it is the venue.
The fans are there for football - not politics.
They pay ridiculous prices to get away from 'the world' for a couple hours - not to be forcibly confronted with an 'in your face' involvement over issues they may or may not agree with.
If professional football games are to become political events then admissions should be free.
Otherwise the players wanting to participate in these political events should do so before the game, after the game - or elsewhere.

Nicely said/written.

The 3rd & 4th stanzas of The Star-Spangled Banner, as originally written by Francis Scott Key:

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - "In God is our trust,"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

You can say that a kiss is a act of love. Judas did not kiss Jesus as an act of love, did he? At a Church when a minister ask the congregation to stand, only those on wheelchairs don't have to. Otherwise IT'S DISSRESPECTFUL!!
