I don't know who's hootch you have been drinking,( would love some of that) but you cannot deny that there was a person called "Christ" and most of the events in his lifetime actually happened. However what remains in question is the belief that he was, in fact, the son of God. And that could never be proved and furthermore that in these times we sure could use a guy like him.

How do you really know that there was a person called Christ? Really?

All you know is what you have read or been told. None of you were there. None of you ever met the man. If someone told you a Superman from another planet who could fly, leap over tall buildings in a single bound, be more powerful than a speeding locomotive, and came to save you from the bad guys, would you believe it? Well if all those around you seemed to believe it and told that story to you from early childhood on, and you saw buildings built in which people gather every week and told each other that story, and you wanted to "belong", you might well convince yourself it was true.

If you look at what is available you will find that others claimed very similar story myths, centuries before "your" Christ supposedly existed.

For example in today's world we celebrate "our " Christ’s birthday on Dec. 25. Why?
Well because other myths before "our" Christ they recognized the Sun "dying on Dec.23 and then "coming back to life" 3 days later" on the 25th in what we now recognize as the winter solstice.

Btw, that is quite a sacrifice that your god made in your bible, when Jesus died on the cross and came back to life 3 days later, to find he now had eternal life. (If you believe.) And if you believe, how can you call that much of a sacrifice.

The Eastern Pope needed to hold together the Roman control of their people and took from the above myths to help produce your book.

You have been conned, and not for your benefit, rather for the benefit of those who have now show to be pedophiles.

I know because REAL people wrote about Him. Several of Christ's disciples were tortured and killed because of their testimony of a risen Savior. Now, ask yourself this one simple question. Would anyone suffer torture and death for something they knew to be a lie. The answer is no. Therefore, the personal witness of a risen Savior is proof enough for me.

Of course not. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean something doesn't exist. The joke is actually on you:

I got a good laugh out of this. It's amazing what some people believe in. Oh, look. I'm not being pollinated. I need to grow a longer tube so the moth gets closer. Too funny!

It is funny....that plants and insects can figure it out, but you need and all-powerful being to explain what you don't understand.

Didn't actually read what I wrote, right? Or are you incapable of thinking?

You never met any of those you speak of. How can a sane person write such insane stuff and keep repeating it as you do?

Answer they can't, they are either insane, or mentally controlled by outside agencies.

Which are you?

It is called FAITH, TRUST, if you would read the scripture and search for the truth you WILL FIND IT TO BE THE TRUTH.
What is faith? Hebrews 11: 1-6 faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

PRM,

You asked "do you know anything about recorded history???"

Only what I was taught and read in school. Interestingly, the stories about George and their interpretation about George as a Mason, President, leader, slave owner, etc. are concerned are already changed significantly in the texts my grand kids used in school sufficiently to be almost unrecognizable when compared to the texts I used as a child.. Within 2,000 years how much will they change? I don’t know but I do know they will be changed.

You folks talk about faith. Well Faith is defined as “a firm belief in something for which there is no proof.”

Did you get that? NO PROOF!

Or a “belief in traditional doctrines of a religion”.

"Religion is supernatural constraint, sanction, religious practice."

There are a number of other definitions but these should suffice to give you the idea of the blindness and dogmatism of religionists, that you see displayed on these posts.
My contention is that an intelligent person would not blindly accept or act on another’s say so, especially if the history of that other was as bloody, slimy, sexually deviant and disreputable as demonstrated by what we know of the religions we are aware of.

An intelligent man looks at how each of us was taught the religion we espouse and why.

It is interesting to then observe that generally, the mother was the principle force in determining a child’s religion. As was her mother before her. Until fairly recently, these women were uneducated, illiterate and subservient to the men in their lives.

And these women were inducted with the connivance of a religious leader who himself did not believe the religion, but made a good living from it, helping the Kings, or other governments to control the ignorant population.

All religions were and are a foul, deadly scam.

That's your opinion. That's all it is. And it's obvious that if you've even read the Bible, you didn't understand it. Christianity is all about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Even though we deserve death, God gave us a way out. And it doesn't cost you a thing. It's completely free. All you have to do is give up your love of sin and repent and follow Christ. How is that slimy, or any of the other adjectives you mentioned?

Doesn't cost you anything?

Aside from your time and the tithes you are supposed to willingly give (isn't it funny that they can't handle money. They always need money.) they also want you to follow THEIR PRINCIPLES, which they expect you to understand if only you'll read THE BOOK. Which has so many contradictory passages it is ridiculous to even attempt to get use from. As most people will admit, depending on the interpretation given it, you can use THE BOOK to prove anything you want.

Please, don't try to drag me into your pit.

If you don't know the history of your own religion (and slimy is a mild word compared with the reality) and the horrible things it has caused on this planet, or if you have paid no attention to the revelations of the sexual perverts and pedophiles working within your religion, I have to wonder where you get your religious information.

It is obvious that you are lost. So let's stop these silly useless discussions.

"You see where all this running around gets you. This jumping and fighting...it's exhausting, Mr. Bond. You need to relax."

There are none so blind as the willfully blind. I'm talking about you. You seem to have an ax to grind. What happened? Did one of those Catholic Priests molest you? If so, that wasn't Gods fault. It was an evil man pretending to be a Christian. Of all the atrocities you blame on the Church, NONE OF THEM are condoned by Scripture. I could go on, but you are not listening. Why don't you try reading the Bible? You might learn something. Don't read it like a novel. You have to study it. If there is something you don't understand, ask someone to explain it to you, or Google it. The information is out there. I'm guessing that you do not actually want to know Christ as your personal Savior. You have to give up your sin. And let's face it. Sin is fun. For a while, at least. But it always ends in disaster. BTW. There are no contradictions in the Bible. Every supposed contradiction is the result of ignorance on the part of the person reading it.

We know that Christ existed, the same way you know that Abraham Lincoln existed. Flavius Josephus a non Christian historian during Jesus time on this earth wrote about Him. That Jesus is or was the Son of God is a different question. You can deny that He was who He said He was, but you can not deny that He existed. Wake up and smell the decaf.

He also cannot deny that Jesus was crucified and that there is no body in the grave. The most powerful Empire in the world couldn't find it. That speaks volumes. They could not stop the spread of Christianity. All they had to do was produce His body and it would have stopped it in its tracks. There is also the fact that the Apostles suffered torture and death rather than deny a risen Christ. Now, I ask you...Who would die for something they knew was a lie? All the evidence points in one direction.

When Jesus asked"Who do you say that I am?" Peter answered"You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God" Jesus answered" you did NOT get that from flesh and blood, you got that from my Father" The Father calls on us to be believers. I guess not everybody gets the call,or they refuse His call.
