I came to this site originally wanting to hear both sides of the liberal/conservative issues.

I must say, while I thoroughly disdain any form of racism such as is displayed by some so-called conservatives here, it is people like you that have given me an absolute and thorough disgust for the whole liberal mindset in general. Why would you take our Lord’s words so out of context? The one glaring thing you and your ignorant links lack is the God factor inherent in the words of Christ. Do you really want our government run the way God ordained for His temple to be run? We would have a theocracy, and I guarantee, you would not be happy being forced to live according to God’s standards of holiness.

Exactly whose form of religion would you want to be telling you what to think, what to believe and how to act? Because I can tell you most assuredly, the one you are quoting out of context never himself ordained for those who heard and believed in his words to go and set up a secular government. That particular task is something he himself will institute upon his return.

Not to argue for or against capitalism. But systems created by men cannot in and of themselves be evil. The only evil is the evil put into it by humans. Jesus's action had nothing whatsoever to do with whether capitalism works or not. It was a reaction to making the Temple, which was supposed to be a place of prayer and spirituality, into a place of materialism, (not to be confused with capitalism) and a place where unfair advantage is taken of people. It is one thing to sell a pig in the marketplace at a fair price, it is another to sell a glass of water to a dying man who has no access to water for a $1000.

It would be helpful to you, if you would find a priest, pastor or rabbi, and have either one explain what Jesus meant, when he told the money changers to get out. Church is to worship God only. To glorify and prays him. It is not to line your pockets with silver or gold.

Capitalism is the only reason you live in a country that protects your right, to say and be stupid.

Think about that, the next time you want to shoot your mouth off about a subject you no nothing about.

Even the early Christian church tried it. In Acts it says they "had all things in common", but it isn't mentioned again so I guess it didn't work. There is, however, the story of Ananias and Sapphira who held back a little then lied about it. One mention of socialism and one mention of why it won't work...human nature. Amazing how whatever we need to know we can find in scripture if we look.
