Too much money is being spent on Acedemia. It is the last refuge of liberal propaganda. Education is an eyesore to the defense of our nation. A mindless ignorant automaton is more preferable than an eggheaded liberal for he will follow orders instead of questioning them with Democratic Gibberish.

In a statement, NPR COO Loren Mayor said:

"Millions of Americans depend on their local public radio station for the fact-based, objective, public service journalism they need to stay informed about the world and about the news in their own communities. Public media serves the public interest with essential educational, news and cultural programming not found anywhere else, as well as vital information during local and regional emergencies. Federal funding is an essential ingredient to making this possible."
The federal funds are especially crucial for local stations, as well as local arts groups, which often receive matching funds from other donors based on their federal allocations.

NEH Chairman William D. Adams issued a statement saying his agency is "greatly saddened to learn of this proposal for elimination." NEA Chairman Jane Chu said, "We are disappointed because we see our funding actively making a difference with individuals of all ages in thousands of communities, large, small, urban and rural, and in every Congressional District in the nation." http://www.npr.org/2017/03/16/520401246/trumps-budget-plan-cuts-funding-for-arts-humanities-and-public-media. This is a "public service" announcement LOL!

Therefore less funding actually means more money? You don't need reason to figure out what that really means!

Conservative's have been trying to destroy objective journalism in this country for as long as they have been around. They aren't happy with the pollution they get from Fox or Brietbart but think everyone has to be consumed by fake news.

Where is it written in the constitution that the government has the authority to spend taxpayer funds on art? Answer: It's not!
And if it's not contained within the 4 corners of the constitution, then the government doesn't have the power to do it. Period. End of debate! The constitution itself specifically specifies that powers not specifically enumerated in the document as belonging to the federal government belong to the state, or the people.
NPR can't survive on its own. It needs taxpayer funding to exist. If it can't survive in the market, then it's time for its taxpayer funding to be cut off. Talk radio, which is almost invariably right wing, thrives without one cent of taxpayer help. They must be providing a needed service to the public. Why can't NPR do the same? Answer: because they adhere to a far left wing agenda that is so far out of the mainstream of thought that there isn't widespread support for it.
It's high time the government cuts off funding for all that left wing propaganda that passes for so-called art.
And after that let's focus on the Dept. of Education. Here's hoping that Betsy DeVos is up to the task. I don't see any place in the constitution where the government is given the authority to "educate" the nation's schoolchildren. Let's get back to our roots where McGuffy's Readers were mandatory reading for all schoolchildren. Where their stories interspersed various moral stories from the Bible with everyday lessons for schoolchildren. Before the government took out all references to morality from the curiculum. That was the start of the country's long slide towards leftism. Which is really about eliminating references to God.

In reality, not much more than 10% of NPR is government funded.

I'll take the blame for sending a link without pictures, and connecting dots provided.

In smaller words, since government funding is such a small fraction of tv/radio needs, taking it away "may" cause a focused fund raising, thus easily far exceeding the nickels and dimes paid by uncle sam
