As you said your not that informed, it's not that the black community protects there own guilty or not. It's that the police and the black community have a history and it's not a good history. Black people have seen the police stand by and watch as a mob set fire to a black persons home, beat up and/or kill them. They have seen officers beat up black people and nothing is said or done about it. Social media has brought this to the forefront because before people thought it was just these officers in my city. Then they find out no, it's happening else where. I know white people have been shot and killed by police as well, but from what I've seen the police don't seem as scared for their life, if the prep is white as opposed to black or brown. I've seen white people argue with police and the officer just gets bothered but seem to get upset when the person is black or brown like they have no right to question their authority. I've seen officers not show respect to black and brown people which should always be shown until that person shows they don't deserve that respect. I think that police officers need to be trained that the community they patrol are their customers like it or not and should be shown the respect.

Problem is that I don't believe half of what you wrote, and the social media USUALLY relies on gossip, NOT facts, hence not something I would use as a source. I don't trust dumb people, don't trust the mass media, don't trust any politician, don't trust any racist thing whether it comes from blacks, whites, orientals, Mexicans, or Muslims. I have known a LOT OF COPS, and have never known of one who would set out to actually hurt anyone. Have had them for friends. My hubby was in the Border Patrol, one of his friends was murdered on duty, and my hubby sometimes came home with a torn up uniform, etc. I will never side with gangbangers as I believe they occasionally get what they deserve. I will never side with dummies who listen to crap, blame the innocent, and refuse to hear TRUTH. Most killings that cops deal with come as a result of blacks killing blacks, or at least it seems that way. I believe in treating everyone fairly, and jumping on bandwagons because of a single incident is NOT treating people fairly.
