Do you think that the shameful conditions at veterans hospitals happened because Mr. Trump's bookkeepers has taken 4 months to make payment disbursement? Or should we be looking at how the government has "awarded" pay raises to both active duty and retired? Or perhaps the amount of money provided for surviving spouses by our government? Do you think there would be a desperate need for fund raisers if our government cared more about our veterans? The veteran homeless rate is still high, 47,725 veterans are homeless on any given night, and this number has grown in the past seven years. Today, the number of homeless Vietnam War veterans exceeds the number of men who died in combat in Southeast Asia, according to data from the VAâs CHALENG study on veteran homelessness.
A very wise man, and esteemed president is quoted: "the willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation"-President George Washington. Do you think that a 1 percent increase in military pay and benefits will encourage this willingness? Or are you thinking that Mr. Trump had something to do with this enforced poverty level?
