I can see both sides to this. If I were a cop I would want every advantage I could get. None the other hand as an ordinary citizen I have to wonder what kind of hands this equipment is in.

You see this is the problem. This is not being done by the Demos (appropriate though is it not? America is being de-constructed and the Demos are in control). This has nothing to do with political parties, it has everything to do with liberals. Liberals are inherently socialistic, they believe in change from the established way of doing things, what our founding fathers built this nation to be. (meaning there is no guarantee of anything, except the absolute freedom to make your own way without government control). Liberals believe that everyone should have the same thing no matter what, I mean it is only fair right?
They know that there will be a majority of Americans who disagree with this and will stand there ground to keep their freedom.
They have tried over and over again to disarm us through legislation with little success due to the people shutting them down. Since that has not worked, they are now militarizing local police forces. It takes a lot to declare martial law which is under federal control and is the mobilizing of military forces to re-establish control of civil disorder that is beyond the capabilities of local law enforcement. Only the president can authorize such an action, but now our local police are para-military organizations with little or no oversight from anyone.
The federal government is pouring billions of dollars into militarizing police organizations across the nation. Given every thing else that is going on right now, it really only takes a minimal effort towards common sense to see what they are dong.
