Do they also search for proper use of authority? You know, as a contrast.

Now why would they report on all of the heroic and good things people do when it's much more sensational to report the ugly.

I may be a cynic but unbalanced reporting is one of the main reasons why we have so many under-informed citizens, following what CBS says and Voting for Obama.

That's not cynical, that's realistic.

Like Prohibition, many things sound good at the time that are really, really bad for the country and our liberties. We fell to the madness of MADD and allowed police state tactics on our roadways. We instituted mandatory drug testing. Both seemingly reasonable but with both feet tenuously on the slippery slope...and creeping downward.

The Patriot Act is an abomination period. The supposed war on terror just another great excuse to "control" Americans. Drones and torture leached that wonderful moral character this country had had for so long. Fair treatment of pows by us. Rebuilding the countries of our former enemies. Giving candy to children in worn torn countries, not strapping bombs on them. We were exceptional, despite some terrible mistakes in both law and policy, we were exceptional, but we are growing less so it seems almost daily.

Both light and fervent banter about destroying the country with secession or rebellion. Nullification laws. Both Right and Left no longer representing parties to promote our bet interest but hostile camps each looking to bring us down.

Having lived through the 60s and been politcally active and alert at that time, as turbulent as it was and seemingly close revolution, it was almost a silly game compared to the atmosphere today. College students really just playing at being revolutionaries; it was more about the sex and drugs then anything else. Blalck militants had a good reason to be militant: one hundred years of segregation, severe oppression, and wanton violence against their race. Justice was raped repeatedly in the South during that century. If it had been the Irish Catholics, as in Ireland with the Brits, I would have been a Pink Militant (which is closer to the actual color of most Irishmen).

The thing is, I had not heard about 85% of what is on this site until I saw it there. It may be sensational local news stories but it is not making it to national.

Also real are sedition, abuse of power, unConstitutional mandates - and there are too many denying it, indeed attempting to explain it away - and I can assure everyone that THAT causes dissension. It also causes intense anger. Another thing that causes dissension is the abject hatred for people trying to warn others that no good is afoot.

The ONLY people trying to destroy this nation are our federal government and whoever it is that is paying them their silver to commit treason, sedition for SOMEONE'S gain.

military Vehs to local police stations, they said they were not being used,I guess this a start of something, why does the local police need military vehs? Think about that for awhile!!

What do you think of when you see these pictures, A military squad operating in a war zone? Nope, this is the Oregon state police searching a wooded area for a fugitive. And this is what they drive. Everything they are wearing, the assault rifles, and the MRAP vehicle are all military issue. All of this equipment is quietly being distributed to local and state police agencies around the country under federal grants. Police agencies around the country are requiring officer training in military tactics and combat readiness. They are also currently re-writing the definitions under which military commanders can intervene in civil matters. This is scary people!
