Who would you bet on?

In a brawl between a mixed martial artist and a Navy Seal, who would you bet on? Seals are tough, and they don't know the meaning of the word quit, but MMA fighters are specialized and can really dish out some serious damage. I think it might be a toss up, but I'd put my money on the MMA dude. What do you think?

I would have to disagree. The MMA fighter is a well trained fighter, but only trained to disable. A SEAL is a trained fighter, but trained to disable and kill. MMA fighters learn aggressive application until a tap-out. SEALS learn to be aggressive and "Never give up" from day one until the threat has been eliminated.

I disagree. MMA fighters train in the same types of martial arts that seals are trained in. Not the same style, but they are just as capable as a Seal. They have the same skill level and mental toughness. I know what it takes to become a professional MMA fighter. The physical conditioning and mindset required is something that few people have. Just because MMA fighters do not use their skills to disable and kill does not mean they are not able to. And they train those skills for several hours a day. Make no mistake. They are deadly. And they have the same determination and refusal to quit as any Seal. In fact, few Seals would have the mental toughness and determination to rise to the top ranks of the MMA. Keep in mind that todays MMA fighters start training around the age of ten. By the time they are in their twenties, they are already accomplished martial artists. They spend their lives training against opponents, identifying their weaknesses and correcting them. Their training is superior to any Seal. That's a fact.

I think it would depend on the two individuals involved.
Is it kill, or be killed, or till one says uncle?

How about until one can no longer get up, or is immobilized?

BTW, I've seen what a MMA fighter can do to a side of beef with a single kick. It's scary. It broke several ribs and the force of that kick would have ruptured internal organs had they been present. Seals are tough, but no one can stand up to that kind of punishment.

I would disagree also, mongo. The SEAL would have shot the MMA guy directly between-the-eyes from a few miles away!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. {BORN AGAIN} TRUMP (R)!!! Any warrior knows that you only fight close-up if all-else-failed up to-that-point; and then there would have to be 3 or 4 MMA's to have a chance!!!

That would be cheating.

Watched a UFC fight between a statetrooper with 5black belts in 5 different martial arts. His opponent was from Arkansas and had no martial arts training. He had the state trooper in a submission hold and tapped out in 17 seconds. Go figure!!

A black belt is nothing to brag about. It only signifies a minimum level of competence. Now, if that cop had a third degree black belt in a single style of martial arts, the outcome would have been different.

Ok. It would be fun to watch. But I will say that both are badasses in their training, and specific forms of combat.
I would give the Seal a higher chance of survival outside of the octagon though.

No argument there. But when it comes down to dishing out pure brute force damage, Seals can't compare. Also, MMA fighters are very good at the ground game. Their speed and power is beyond compare.
