I find norte a little off the wall, but not nearly as offensive as, say, ME. He hops around quite a bit, but I really don't see the problem. I disagree with norte on most topics but that is the purpose of OPP.

As soon as I see his name on a post I leave and go on to another post I will not even bother reading his or hers post whichever it is. I put norte in the same category as some others on here.

Pennylynn had a point though, although I do come here to see the topics of the day, and usually keep my interjections to a minimum, I have noticed the amount of posts that Norte has placed is beginning to water the forum down with nonsense.
Ultimately, it makes little difference to me either way, but I can foresee a future concern if left unchecked.
As for now, I agree with you, let it play out.

He's not the only spammer.

We have another who uses other users topics to submit his own spamming.

I'm surprised you haven't received complaints about him.

I think you may even know who I'm speaking of.

I ignore it also but it does become frustrating after opening one after the other of babble from this clown. Maybe a number limit would work.

Can't say as I even noticed. Looking at his/her profile, I'm seeing 134 topics and 244 posts - In 4 days! I can't be reading that right; 33 topics and 61 posts per day. Now that's industrious. You're right though, doesn't appear to be 'spammy' or 'trollish'. I'd say 'no harm no foul'. Leave him/her be, he/she will burn out after a while. They always do.....

He doesn't bother to respond, why should he dominate the forum by posting endless puffery. He doesn't even maintain a consistent position, some of his posts are far left and others far right. This isn't a news service it is a forum for discussion and debate. We all have subscriptions to newsletters. In the meantime he is disrupting discourse and that seems to be his only purpose.
