Peter, the fact is the towers did not have prolonged burning as your cover-up operatives claim. The first tower to fall burned less than an hour and firemen who reached the 78th floor radioed out that the fires were almost out and could be extinguished with two hand lines. Bullshit. Islam has been at war for 1400 years. Ever since Mohammed, the prophet, began killing Jews and Christians in Medina because they wouldn't convert, Islam has been at war. FYI: Potential energy does not cause anything. It just is. It's like a car parked in a garage, it doesn't do anything but just sit there until the PE is converted to KE when the engine is started and the car moves. And, heavy objects under the pull of gravity don't always fall straight down. Ever seen an avalanche? Or even a boulder rolling down a mountain? When fixed objects are in the path of a falling object, the falling object can be deflected, it's direction changed. Like the upper collapsing floors of a building hitting the lower floors, meeting some resistance, and getting deflected.

I'll see if I can find the article in which a demolition engineer and his team calculated the minimum explosive load necessary to accomplish what the truthers claim was done in the towers. If, as the truthers claim it was done, it would have required at least 150 tons of dynamite per tower. (I think I posted this article a couple times in these 9/11 conspiracy threads, but as usual, you chose to ignore it.) In addition, the engineers calculated the potential energy contained in the towers (they do this for every project, it provides the necessary data for an accurate assessment of the amount of explosives they will need to do the job.) They then calculated the kinetic energy generated in the collapse of one tower--omitting of course any explosive involvement. Not surprising that the kinetic energy released in the progressive collapse of one tower exceeded by far the kinetic energy that 150 tons of dynamite would produce. Once the collapse began, there was no stopping it. No explosives were necessary to bring down the towers.
