This story is more about human nature but is also points out the fallacy of wealth redistribution.

Back in the days of the USSR there were two hard working Russians. Yuri and Ivan. They both had the same job at the same factory and lived next to one another in a small Russian village. Both men each had a goat for a supplemental source for milk.
Ivan did not give care to his goat and often mistreated the poor goat. Yuri petted and combed his goat and always made sure that the goat was cared for. In the fall he went to the forest and gathered vegetation to feed the goat during the long Russian winter. Ivan's goat barely produced enough milk to meet the family's need. Yuri's goat produced an excess of milk and allowed Yuri to sell the excess milk and make a few rubles. After a while Yuri was able to replace a leaking roof and made some inside improvements to ward off the rigors of the harsh Russian winter. The final insult to Ivan was when Yuri purchased a new dress for his wife. Ivan was miserable when every day he saw that Yuri meager house was warm and dry. The purchase of the new dress made his home life even more miserable. Every night Ivan got down on his knees and prayed to God to reduce his sorrow and misery. Finally God answered and asked what could be done to ease his suffering. Ivan replied "kill Yuri's goat"

Great story. Redistribution harms everyone, removes all motivation to work harder, and makes everyone resent their neighbors.

So those in need and desperate in our society--such as poor children, the disabled, and elderly (not just "welfare queens" and "young bucks")--are mean-spirited goat-owners? We should leave them to their misery because somehow they deserve it or a new dress is more important than someone, our neighbor, going cold and hungry? And the millions who through no fault of their own were ruined by the greed of Banks and Wall Street in 2008 should not be given aid by their government, through taxes, for its misfeasance? Being compassionate and taking care of the less fortunate of our fellow citizens is a horror of redistribution? Paying taxes to build and maintain a park in our neighborhood is worthwhile but feeding the hungry in our nation is not?

Are you that ignorant thru no fault of their own, well no one forced them to get involved in something they knew nothing about. I guess it was your fault they lost money. And charity starts at home but if you want feel free to give your income away to help those poor unfortunate people it is not the government's job.

Your right about being compasionate to those in need for sure. However, there is so much fraud in these programs it is totally unconcionable. Damn near every single time I resipients of this compasion, they fill there carts with the very best of everything within that cart. Im sure you have heard this before, but its so true. I cant even afford the kinds of items I see in those carts and this not just grocery types of things either. What is actually happening is when the American CITIZENS se this fraud they become so angry and rightfully so that every time they see some one supposedly in need they come to the same conclusion as I and many others that they have become leaches on society. It really hurts the image of those truly in need. So please stop with the BS ok? Tell me this, why they buying the most expensive items like food and other types of good? I realize that the issue of not having jobs does come into play as the jobs are scarce, but hopefully with President Trump who is already taking positive actions on this subject and many others. Why are the muslims under obamas screwed up reign not having to pay taxes? Why is it that these fricken fighting age males that come here get better treatment than our truly poor, jobless veterans, homelessness and by god like many places like deerborn Michighan where it has become basically no go zones for the every day citizen there as well as to the law enforcement agencies? Why do we have over 1000 active ISIS investigations ongoingand those bullshit Islamic camps/strong holds in OUR COUNTRY? They already came out I believe right after the election tht they were arming up to fight against any kind law enforcement personell that may go there to investigate the fuckin training camps? Why the hell are they even allowed to exist in this country? You lmow damn well they are on assitance as well. So again stop with your BS about all the touchy feely type BS retoric ok? Until you can give a truly well thought out to the questions Ive posed to you for all to see here you have basically made yourself irrelivent in your postings. A very bad start for anyone relatively new here on OPP. I have read many of your posts and find most of them are touchy feely in nature and the fact that you have posted a number of false or misleading statements just proves my point. Can you not see what the hell is going on outside your own windows or when you travel? Im going to ask you for the last time as far as Im concerned to please try and look at the others realities here on OPP and see if you can find perhaps why others here who absolutely loves the United States of America with all its warts and hairy nipples get so angry when we see this great nation and it is a GREAT NATION having been torn apart by those who love obama and obama himself. If you happen to be an immigrant why did you come here? It must have been because there was something great about the U.S. or you would have stayed where you were. Nobody asked any of these illegals or so called immigrants to come here right? SO how do like when they start deminthis and that and we need to assimilate to their ways? Anyways Im done letting you know exactly how I and many others feel. So please my questions if you have a mind to.

The gov't used extortion to pressure banks to loan to people who could not afford to repay in order to broaden their base of voters.

If you feel so sorry for them, why don't you start a fund to help them. There is nothing stopping you from helping. What have you done for them?

You are absolutely right, but the "progressives" don't care about that.

First, don't use words you can't spell.
As to food assistance programs allowing the purchase of items "... [you] can't afford," you might have had a look at the rules governing their use: if anyone is so abusing the use of food subsidies, they are doing so with the complicity of whoever programmed the software on the check-out machines and of the clerk using them. That's about as likely as you getting a clue.
Having made a ruin of your credibility, you make your fantasy world even more fantastic with the other palaver you write. To paraphrase Yosemite Sam: "righties is so stupid."
A reply lacking some explanation of how your putative welfare cheats are able to defeat the programming on cash registers will, of course underscore your fecklessness.

The story was all artifice, shallow as Trump, and absolutely vacuous. It resembles nothing in the real world. People and societies do not fit in your thoughtless categories.
About the only generalization that seems to be true is that righties are stupid and abnormal.
