Ahhhh, you sly silver tongued devil, you!! You cannot fool me. Wolf in sheep's clothing, you are!! I shall not be intimidated either. FYI, I once upon a time lived in the hallowed corridors of a law firm. A 60-hour work week toiling for a partner and one of his associates taught me many skills, so tread carefully. :?

Me? I am just a poor country bumpkin, trying to make it in an overwhelming world. Tread lightly, I will!

8-) Hmmmm..."poor country bumpkin" -- seems that I might have heard that one before. Was it at perhaps some hearings long, long ago that "might" have related to Watergate? I am thinking it is. Might you be interested then, in some real estate investments to be made in Arizona? Oh, come to think of it, I know some stock brokers who would love to help you achieve your goal of "making it".

You were thinking of, perhaps, Sam Ervin? He described himself, at the Watergate hearings, I believe, as a "poor country lawyer".

He was, quite a bit...more!

Bingo!! Exactly!! Thank you for the name. I suddenly drew a blank on Sam's name, but I digress, but you probably were counting on that. You know, when a gentleman protests too much, well.... all sorts of warning flags should go up. Really now, I'm almost "insulted" , that you think even for a nano-second that I buy that "poor country bumpkin" line.  The Sgt. Major should give you a thump on the head for that one. Don't try "humble" either!!

 I figured you knew, beforehand, of Sam Ervin. It didn't dawn on me that you had forgotten his name...his being from North Carolina, your neighboring state.

BTW, the Sgt. Major "thumps" me often, and keeps me quite "humble" with her gracious, but frequent lectures.

Hey, I'm 66. With Watergate going on ad nauseum all those years ago for forever and a year, it would have been really hard for me to miss "Ole Sam" donchaknow. I just had umm, brain "gas" for a moment, not a senior moment, just "gas", thank you very much. You must have forgotten, I did not grow up in Old Virginny, but in the MD burbs of D.C. Think I was living in Hawaii when Watergate monopolized all types of media, written or otherwise.

You know, I always figured Sgt. Major for gracious.
