I have thanked those doctors who ripped my chest open and ripped that vein out of my leg to get the patches for my seriously plugged heart so many times. That vein they took is what allows the leg to get rid of the bad blood and not allow swelling in the leg and ankle. I sleep with my feet up in my adjustable bed and the swelling goes down at night and right back up when I have to get up in the morning to pee. It keeps getting bigger all day and is huge by bedtime, but I am getting along with it. Those guys ripped me open nearly 12 years ago and, for some reason, I am still hanging around and I guess it must be because I take so many pills that are aimed at controlling hypertension. I have been so lucky and really don't know why. The EMS woman who attended me on my 2 hour trip to the hospital said I had passed on during the trip but God must have a plan for me that I haven't found yet.

I feel so good about anyone like our friend who made it out of the hospital and is still around.

I can almost emphasize with you. I traveled to Africa and I picked up a parasite in the form of a worm eggs. The eggs hatched in my brain, lungs, and heart. I was down for a time, in a coma..... but family and loved ones kept talking to me and kept me attached.... I could hear them, and I could hear the entire population of my synagogue praying in the halls... (If you have ever been around a group of Jews all talking or praying at one time... you know what I mean when I say I could not .... not hear them ) I also heard the doctors tell my family that if I woke, I would be an invalid without much brain function and I would never run again. Well, I did wake up, although there are times I have to think about the right word to use and then use the wrong one, I still run my businesses and I run 5 miles every day (although not very fast)...rain or shine. Without my family and friends... I could have let go, it would have been easy and without fear. But, I have things I need to finish.... what that may be, I keep asking G*d for his guidance. Life is good and I am blessed.

It would also seem that you are also blessed..... but, just a question... they now have grown arteries in the lab and they harvest them from donors.... couldn't they fix your leg for you??

I don't know about arteries but it was the largest vein in my leg that they took out. I once talked to a woman who said she married two men who had more than one by pass and on the third heart attack they both died. We just have two of those veins in our legs and when they take a whole one I guess they may have to take the other one. At any rate, my heart man says I will ever have another by pass since they are only doing that when they have to these days.

I have heard your story before, or so it seems, and I wouldn't trade places with you. I was in the hospital a total of 12 days, 10 after the surgery, and actually enjoyed most of those days after they forced me to walk some every day. I just can't seem to walk a lot anymore, though.

I don't really know why I am still here. They found me with 80% to 85% in three arteries and 90 to 95 in the other three. My heart just wasn't pumping enough blood to keep it going.

All those heart people said that maybe the only reason I survived all that was that my heart is very strong. Doctors have told me that for a long time. However, my dad was told that about his heart over and over and he smoked till he was 92 and died 5 years later with emphysema. Guess what I have now that makes breathing so hard.

Your tale about your problem sure as hell didn't bore me but I thought I had seen it before. I don't want anything like your problem, ever.

I have suspected and believed that the 2016 election was rigged. In 2008 and 2012 elections, thousands of ACORN employees with ballots had been going to nursing homes, old folks homes, mentally disabled homes. There could be millions of these people unable to think what is right and wrong. These old folks, or mentally deficient folks don't know what is going on, unaware of the world around them.
These democrat canvassers, listed all their names, got all their ID'S and required them to sign the ballots. The healthcare workers on those facilities are run by labor unions and therefore, all of them along with the canvassers are seeking similar purpose, cooperating among each other, for more votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016, or president Obama in 2008 and 2012.

Congress must look into this. These democrat activities are considered ABUSE of those old folks, whose minds are not functional. They are forced signing documents and ballots that they don't know what they are about. These kinds of voting process must be CONSIDERED NULL AND VOID. Congress must look into these fraudulent activities done by democrats. It must be stopped. Votes coming from these facilities where the mentally retarded or disabled people are housed, must not be considered valid. They don't have no mentally ability to recognize the right from the wrong.
These democrat illegal activities have been going on since the 2008 election. It must not be allowed, and Congress must look into these frauds to legislate, and to stop it.

Without these millions of illegal or fraudulent votes, President Obama perhaps could not have won the election in 2012. And in addition, Hillary Clinton could never garner more votes as it was claimed by her and the democrat party. SHAME ON THESE FRAUDSTERS!

I found it interesting Penny and admire your courage. The doctors told my wife to get me in hospice. I have end stage COPD and refused their advice. Purchased my own medicine and am gaining weight and exercising daily.
