LT we agree somewhat. I would need much more information before I came down on the Trump administration over this deal. Here's why? As a conservative I would like to see the Federal Government stay out of the business decision making, However it is government that has put in place regulations, and taxes that may be the very reason this company and many like it wants to move. It's kind of a catch 22. The jobs report just came out and around 178,000 jobs were created. Of that amount, only 9000 fulltime jobs were created and wages ticked down. Government is killing our jobs market. Specifically Obamacare.

600 jobs at this plant are still being lost and 700 jobs will be lost at the Huntington plant that is being closed. That is more jobs lost than saved at the cost of 7 million dollars to the taxpayer. How many other companies do you think will now line up for their payoff? I thought this was one of the things the Trump supporters were against. Of course whatever Trump does will be spun as great by his Trump Davidians.

I guess the trolls are just going to bash any real criticism of drumpf with mindless one or two sentence elementary drool since they can't wait to see their king rise to the top of the pile of dung he spewed fooling them into voting for "change", which by the way, is all they'll have left in their bank accounts when he's finished draining them. Don't hate them, that's their job to hate themselves, but we can pity the poor things.

What the crap are you talking about?

All company needs to raise income is to threaten to move overseas, and Trump will pay them off, not to move! That is not a good precedent to set for a president!

Companies don't go overseas in order to get paid not to. They go overseas because labor is much much cheaper. It does keep the cost of goods down, so it helps some, but it hurts America when people are out of work or have to settle for lower paying jobs. Trump is not going to just pay people to not go overseas. That wouldn't work because a business is ongoing, and it earns or tries to earn a profit year after year. There are other ways to handle it.

I recently (will try to find report) read that government regulations are even more detrimental to companies. One CEO said he can't keep up with all the hundreds of new regulations and he knows he is violating some every day, many he said have nothing to do with his business. Kinda like being a secretary and government agencies saying you have to wear a hard hat.

If you want to keep American companies in America, you have to be willing to pay up. It's pretty simple, really. America has always been the beacon for a higher standard of living because we have workers' unions that ensure a living wage for their members. The right has always fought against unions because membership money pays the lawyers who keep big and small companies from eating away at workers' income and benefits. If you really want to "make the U.S. great again", support the union and buy only products that are manufactured by union members. Those products are ALWAYS the highest quality, last the longest, made from the best American resources, and they keep our dollars home, where they belong. Bribes to the already rich factory owners never trickle down.

Unions are their own worst enemy and unfortunately out dated. They did great things when formed. At one time union bosses actually cared about their workers not their own power. Ask most CEO's. They would rather stay in the U.S.. Better workforce, more educated, stable (somewhat) economy and safer country. The problem is not so much wages as the cost of doing business. Years ago a GM big shot told me that new EPA regulations was adding $5000 per car. In his opinion (right or wrong) the new standard the EPA put on the company wouldn't amount to anything measurable. I love that liberal catch all phrase, living wage. What the hells that? Your living wage may not be someone else's living wage. I have worked at union facilities. Hatted it. Thought it was more like a form of communism than anything else. However, private unions are fine with me. They can make or break their jobs.

Trump promised that he'd make carrier "pay a damn tax", instead he is paying them $7 million with our tax dollars!

In exchange for not outsourcing a few jobs, United Technology which made a profit of over $7.6 billion last year and owns Carrier, will receive more than $7 million! Along with lower tax burden and regulations!

1,100 jobs is not a few jobs.1,100 families' lives are important. That attitude of "outsourcing a few jobs" needs to stop.We need to start taking care of our own.I'd rather pay more in taxes so someone has a job than pay more so some unvetted potential terrorist gets free everything.Am I wrong?

Let me get this straight: Liberals want us to believe that Trump was manipulated in the Carrier jobs negotiations. Does this mean that Patti Murray (D) was way wrong to negotiate big Tax Breaks for Boeing in the peoples republic of Washington State?

Poor little Wolfey, he's a man obsessed. Trump lives rent free in his skull.

I guess Wolfey is unaware of how many of our tax dollars Obama paid to BUY GM and then give it to the unions. Not to mention the trillions he has squandered to establish he "legacy." Oh my, talk about profligate spenders, no one holds a candle to the progressive messiah.

Obama saved he auto industry saved all those union jobs plus the parts supplier jobs and dealerships. Mass governor Deval Patrick called Obama the President who saved the auto industry from extinction. He said the President decisive action with GM and Chrysler helped prevent a domino effect that would have taken down every thing in the auto industry from Factories that make auto parts to dealerships that sell cars

The auto industry bailout was paid back by the auto companies, with interest. How about using facts instead of bs for your replies, or is it too much to ask a teabagger to do a bit of research? Hint: Watching Fox does not mean you researched it.

The failure of the American economy has everything to do with the Republican Party. They tried to bankrupt the country 3 times during the Obama administration through their use of "political tactics", ie: racism, and gerrymanderring. Let's not forget that the right spent the last 8 years trying to force our country into economic collapse, in order to fool people into re-electing them by using their pulpit to cry foul everytime the left presented a viable plan. Even though the right failed, they still try to say they won by electing Trump. Sadly, or comically, this raising of the angry fist is the first step of our country's moving into an age of darkness, a big step backwards and if the Trump David Ian have their way, the only way out will be via goose stepping. If Republicans continue to refuse to negotiate, they should find a new place to live.

Wouldn't it be easier for you to find a new place to live? Look, we already have enough liberal trolls on this site. You probably won't get many response's since it's obvious your another whiney liberal with Obama/Clinton talking points. I suggest you go to your safe space and find a nice liberal site where you can all throw tantrums together.

The value and use of unions varies from time to time. They have their place, but the citizens can go too far in both directions. Both union groups and anti union groups have historically been involved with and partially controlled by the mafia or other sinister groups. The key is balance.
