They have repeatedly run on the platform that on the first day they are going to get rid of or end Medicare. If they get rid of or end Medicare, it seems logical to me that Medicare will not exist.

Is it possible for us to discuss this subject without insulting each other ? I am interested in everyone's opinion about what is going to happen to medical care and coverage if ObamaCare is repealed and if the coming administration follows through on the plans to change Medicare. What is your opinion ? What is your prediction. I saw an article that Medicare premiums deducted from one's social security are going to double, and may take as much as 55% of one's social security. I don't know the truth in this prediction, and I don't suppose any of the rest of us do, either. But do you think medical care costs are going to go up ?

Please cut the insults and let's have a serious discussion.
Is it possible for us to discuss this subject with... (show quote)

Obama stripped a trillion dollars from Medicare and put into Medicaid. We paid for our Medicare the people illegals and payed nothing. But yes cost will go up till the ACA is repealed, it was designed to fail.

What does Donald Trump believe? Entitlements: Do not cut Social Security or Medicare benefits. Grow the economy to save those programs.
The real estate tycoon told CPAC in 2013 that Republicans should not cut Social Security or Medicare because most Americans want to keep the benefits as they stand now. His solution is unclear, but he has indicated that general economic growth would play a role. Trump tweeted in May that he knows "where to get the money from" and "nobody else does."

As of late Trump has said little other than it needs to addressed.
Now ole Bernie was for Medicare for all, I'm sure that would work, get real!

Richard-do not get alarmed about Medicare. When they talk about Medicare reform it is usually designed for those who will qualify in the future. To my knowledge, medicare premiums have not increased to the extent that it decreased anyone's Social Security check . Yes, they did increase the premium enough to eat up most of the small raise received a few years ago. If they grant another SS raise, they will take back part of that as an increase in the medicare premium. They are reducing payments to doctors and hospitals but I do not expect that many, if any, will leave the system. Trump will protect both the Seniors and those eligible for VA care. There is much misinformation out there and most of it is political. The democrats are using scare tactics in an attempt picture Trump as a man who would take your medicare and SS away. It must make them feel superior and important if they can cause a few seniors to become worried about their survival. Those are the lowest form of humanity. Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House, has indicated a desire to reform Medicare but anything that would drastically adversely affect seniors will probably be short stopped by the Senate or,as a last resort, by Trump if it gets to his desk. Rest easy. PS. I believe you are confusing Obamacare with Medicare. Trump has promised to replace Obamacare but that has nothing to do with Medicare. Trump never ran on a platform to replace medicare. Good Luck America !!!~

My opinion is that Trump is a pathological liar, so that what he says means little or nothing. What counts is what he does.

Give the sky a little while. For starters, let us see what the reaction of mainland China is to Trump's talking with the President of Taiwan. That ought to be interesting. And then, if he and his folks meddle with social security, the sight of 50 million old folks carring torches and pitchforks in the streets ought to give you pause. We do not know what Trump believes. He has demonstrated that he is a pathologtical liar. All we can do is wait and see what he does.

Richard-you are fantasizing ! As president elect, Trump can talk to any world leader he chooses and it is none of China's business. Why would China object to Trumps' attempt to ameliorate differences between the two leaders ?
You are grasping at straws and obviously still fuming over Hillary's butt kicking by Trump. Trump has outlined quite clearly what his agenda will be and if he can his proposals through congress, without too much push-back ,the country will be better off for it. You would be wise to stop echoing the democrat talking points as the election is over.
Good Luck America !!!

Ricko, the problem with what you have just written is that you are judging from your point of view, not from China's point of view. We are talking here about reality, about what is, not about what should be. If you believe that China is not going to be pissed about Trump talking to someone in the government of Taiwan, such as the Taiwanese President, then you have clearly not been watching the machinations of China for quite a few years. Just watch this over the next few days. I am not echoing Democratic talking points here. I am simply mentioning reality. There is a reason why the United States government has not been talking or having diplomatic realations with Taiwan for a while. Just sit back and watch, without getting angry and trying to insult me.

I don't see that I am insulting you in this post. I am predicting what I think could happen, and it doesn't involve you.

What I say about Trump -- that he is a pathological liar -- has been verified by many sources. I am not insulting him. First of all, I am not talking to him. I am talking to you. I could give you a lot of highly respectable sources that state he is a pathological liar, ranging from The New Yorker Magazine, to The Atlantic Magazine, so I am not misrepresenting what he is. Just the facts, Sir.
