If you notice I broke my original answer into two parts. The first was to discuss what has happened to California and the second to what I observe in S.F.

I have no argument with what you say on this. You are very right. S.F. has always been too liberal a community. But the original discussion was supposedly about certain disgusting things supposedly happening on the city streets. I contend that the posts were exaggerating the condition.

I have no interest in San Francisco but Paul Pices who extolls the virtues of SF and comments on how expensive the apartment he and his "husband" share, gripes about how the tourists have destroyed the simple pleasure of being able to go nude into the grocery store to get their food stuffs, and he ought to know.

Many years ago, my grandmother lived in SF. She was the first woman to get a driver's licence in SF. It was a good place back then when I was young.. That was in the 50s and 60s and 70s. What in the world has happened to it now?

The people who wrote the above posts are exaggerating shamefully. I guess this is “pile on” California week.

I admit that things have changed from the beautiful, clean State that we had when I first moved here, but that has come mainly from the huge influx of coloured, and brown races that has more than tripled our population since those early times. These races have been shown to harbor a multitude of very low intelligence level people. The large contingent of lower class blacks do not take care of their neighborhoods, in fact they trash them, and whenever they move into an area it shortly becomes a slum. The same can be said for the small contingent of lower class Mexicans. And the upper class of both these people are very embarrassed and angry about that, but can’t do much to mitigate it. Unfortunately their “Political Leaders” make things worse while fattening off the problems they cause.

I’ve NEVER seen public nudity in S. F.. For one thing the climate is to cool summer and winter to allow it.

As for Bums sleeping in the doorways. That is happening in every big city in the country, and there is no more of that here than in your towns. I don’t condone it, but in our country’s wonderfully forward political environment it is happening. Again this seems to be more related to overpopulation, and the large number of criminal and semi-insane cases thrown out on the streets, much probably caused by the poisoning in our food and water supply that the lower classes are fed, and the states “Leaders” refusing to allot money for their incarceration. (In most states they are turning these people onto the streets for the same reasons.)

Fecal matter on the streets? Very rare. No more than in your town I’ll bet.

I would appreciate a little more honesty on this forum and less chest beating nonsense.

Yeah, I know, it is more fun to pile on. (;-)

No fecal matter on our streets. Now you can get your feces compacted and move on. Ever been to San Fran I thought not.

Homelessness is a terrible thing. Laws against homelessness are even worse. Imagine the trauma of losing everything then finding yourself in jail for being down and out. I can just hear it now "Oh, having a hard time? Here, let me give you a criminal record to go with all that bad luck". 'Quality of life crime'. What a crock. Same with so-called 'victim-less crimes'. How can you possibly commit a crime without having a victim? Prohibition anyone?

There was a time when I was in my late teens when I was close to homeless living in a "flop house" working odd jobs and going to school nights. fortunately I got off drugs (mainly weed) and stopped drinking and turned my life around, or I might have ended up brain damaged and homeless too. San Francisco does have a number of city run homeless shelters but I think that the church run ones are mostly a thing of the past. From Christians I know who had lived in the area, Christian churches are not welcomed in San Francisco any more, unless they are willing to ignore the teaching of the Bible and follow the San Francisco concept that nothing is a sin, and preaching forgiveness for sins is a nonstarter.

I think Paul Pisces is putting you on. I admit that I don’t live in an area that is known for homosexuals, but I can’t believe that if one, male or female(??) were to walk to the store nude, they would quickly be swept up by the cops.

S.F. has always been a tourist town, and the local police know that it would keep tourists away to have the town really develop as some of you seem to think it has.

Yes there are areas where homosexuals live and you can see both sexes walking the sidewalk holding hands. It has become more common in the last 20 years. ( I wonder if a lot of this is the result of chemicals that are found in many of the “foods” and drugs that are being used today.) But if you have a similar size population town I’m sure that you have those areas too. And I understand that there is some near nudity during certain of the homo parades, reported by some yellow newspapers. But again I personally have never seen such.

I will admit that I’m retired and live in a beautiful rustic hunting, fishing, hiking mountain area 100 miles from S.F. and only get down there now when the wife wants to go shopping, or the relatives want to see the town and get a good meal.

As far as I'm concerned San Fransisco is still one of the best cities in the world.

The landlords in the low rent neighbor hoods in San Francisco have been jacking rents through the roof for the purpose of driving them out so the land can be sold to big developers who plan to build luxury condos. The City is being Gentrified. A very popular Mexican restaurant had to close because their Mexican workers went back to Mexico , they could not afford to live anywhere near the city.

Why would that be surprising? After all, until 2013 San Francisco allowed public nudity all the time and in all places including restaurants and in doctors waiting rooms. the only requirement was that you bring a towel to sit on so you don't spread disease. Now there are only special times, like bicycle races, motorcycle races for dykes on bikes, all "gay pride" events, and as I understand it all "gay bars". The change came about, as Paul has stated because tourists found public nudity unacceptable. There is no reason for most normal people to desire to visit the modern Sodom.

Hey we love our international city by the bay. The Theaters, restaurant's, palace of fine arts, Fisherman's Warf. Giants ball park and the new Warrior basket ball arena due to break ground. e enjoy the Gay Pride Parade, Columbus day parade, bay to breakers race, China Town, And the characters your liable to see ant thing. We were waiting with about 50 people for a cable car to go from the BART station to Fisherman's Warf when some guy walked up and started yelling that he had been to heaven and seen Jesus, he yelled Jesus didn't need any more nails in his hands and feet, that Jesus already had to many nails in his hands and feet. The Cable car arrived and the people began moving forward but it the front of the line was an oriental guy pounding his fist in to a bible and delivering a sermon. We got on the car ant it took off and half way up the block a young guy and gal ran and jumped on the cable car and the kid whipped out a bottle of glue and started sniffing. More strange stuff when we arrived at the Warf. The city is an exciting place not like where I was born in Oklahoma where its dull and boring. The only thing exciting is when every body goes to church on Sunday and jumps up and down and hopping all around babbling in some strange tongue

San Francisco has, at least the last time I heard a requirement that dog owners clean up after their dogs with a fine of at least $50.00 according to friends who went to San Francisco for a dog show, and said she would never return. There was so much nudity in town that she and her teen age kids found it appauling, but that was in 2010.

I've only seen nudity in the bay to breakers race here are always those who like to show off

I live part-time on a large catamaran moored in Sausalito when I'm not on my farm up in wine country. When I look across the bay and see San Francisco, I always think of it as Babylon. Babylon means confusion and that's what I see in San Francisco. I avoid going there unless I absolutely have to. It's most definitely a modern day Sodom.

So do you wear your false teeth when you hop out naked and join the race to show off? Oh God that must be something damned nasty, all those wrinkles and saggy skin flipping and flopping when you jog along....frigging fruit cake!
